Prologue

All she could hear were the growls of her pack, everything she'd been working for was gone. There was a reason she was born into this pack and now more than ever something needs to be done. Back in her old life people used to say how after you die, life becomes peaceful, and life is everything you want it to be.

Her legs were aching from the fighting. This had been going on for many moons now and it had taken most of her energy to stop it coming to this, she had discovered the truth behind her purpose too little, too late. The pack had turned in on themselves at long last and all hell broke loose.

"Howler! Help me stop this please!" He could probably hear the begging in her voice.

If this continued any longer they would never be safe again, all the ruckus was drawing the attention of the outside packs and now they were left vulnerable to each of them. They were trying to stop this, but it was no use.

A much larger wolf struck her from behind, sending her flying into the middle of the fight where she could see him, and beside him Beta, who lay with his head on the ground barely alive. The wolf standing over him was fighting off three others, not ones from this pack but another, stronger pack.

He was only able to hold his ground for so long until one of the larger wolves bit into his neck, crushing his throat. Her whole pack had heard his final howl before he fell to the floor on top of Beta. By this point her whole pack stood together and fought side by side, or at least those who were left.

A single long howl left her throat, the time to end this was now.

Slowly every living wolf around her lowered to the ground, almost cowering, as if her howl may awaken a mighty beast for more powerful than themselves. The growls had lowered to a mere whimper. All alphas stood their ground only sitting and refusing to stand down to a young immature wolf pup. One particular wolf leapt towards her, blood dripping from his jaws.

Her claws swept across his face, leaving barely a physical scratch but an emotional scar. The pair growled at each other and it was broken into a fight for dominance. Wolves from all the packs began to choose sides, many chose him, but majority chose her.

It was her time to rule the pack, and the forest with it.
