Her Mom Is Too Spontaneous!

After Assistant Xiong left the room, Gu Feng and Lu Anqing then recounted how they both met and ended up marrying.

Apparently, Gu Feng and Lu Anqing were childhood sweethearts. They grew up in the same neighborhood when they were kids.

Lu Anqing's side of the family was actually a prominent family in City A.

Ye Jie had a normal background, but Gu Feng was an upright man. He wanted to take responsibility, so he married her.

Ye Jie also did not disappoint Gu Feng as she was a good wife and mother to their two kids. Her family was also respectable. They only wanted their only child to have a good life. They didn't ask for anything. Power, wealth, fame - those were all nothing in their eyes.

Of course, in the end, Gu Feng still did not treat them badly. He provided them their own estate in City C to retire to. His sons also visit them from time to time and even join them on some holidays.

When the Yan family found out that Lu Anqing was working at the Mayor's office as a mail clerk in the late 90's, they suddenly started to tell her she's family and wanted to latch on to her government job position to recommend other members of the family, and also get a share on her salary.

They started to bother her mom again and even guilt-tripped her saying, I have their blood and that even though Lu Anqing isn't family, I, Yan Rumei should be filial and send them half of my salary and try to take them to City D when I have time.

Her mother never told her all these. She either reported to the police or asked for help from the government or Mayor whenever the Yan family appeared.

Yan Rumei now feels furious.

Then, 2 months ago, when Gu Feng happened to glance at an email reply from the office of the City H's Mayor regarding a development project, he saw Lu Anqing's name.

She was working as an executive secretary. From being a mail clerk, with years of service and good performance, she has been promoted time and time again until she reached that position.

It was a good job. Even when Yan Rumei asked her to stop working and she will just support her, she didn't want to quit.

Lu Anqing thought that it is still better to work until you are still able to work. No one knows what will happen in the future. There might be unexpected expenses and she still wanted to have some source of income.
