Fate Has Something For Her

Assistant Li was sitting on his desk chair looking through papers.

All of the general information he wanted Yan Rumei to read were already done. He badly wanted to lure her into starting work in any of the branch companies of Gu Corporation but he is now hesitant.

He now always remembers what Tan Jiaying told him before and he didn't want the Miss to hate him and end up sending him back to City A.

He also realized that he was wrong in questioning her decisions. His Miss is smart and above average unlike other ladies her age, so most of her decisions are not just on a whim and are actually thought through.

As soon as the police that was assigned to guard the hospital entrance and general area left, not only reporters and paparazzi rushed to the VIP ward, but even businessmen and some of Yan Rumei's old acquaintances.

They were so bold enough to even trespass on each of the hospital's VIP rooms, but when they found out that she is no longer in any of them, they ended up with the conclusion that she was secretly moved to another hospital.

When he saw the wave of people that day, fear crawled on every inch of his body.

If he insisted for his Miss to stay in her VIP room, there was no way he or Bodyguard Bo can take on that many people.

He felt shame because of that. As an assistant working under one of the richest business moguls in the country, he wasn't able to predict how crazy people can be here in City D.

The peaceful flow he was used to in City A was not like this. They had a lot of bodyguards at their disposal any time they want. Because of that, people also don't dare to make trouble with them.

But here… Every single one is like hungry wolves.

He even received a report that a nurse at this hospital tried to sell information about their Miss. Of course, that was prevented. She was fired, her license revoked, and she was apprehended by the police, including her contact.

Things like that can easily be resolved by their team, but if a crowd of people rushed in and take the information themselves, that would be a really hard situation.

He again thought of convincing his Miss to just move to City A to live with her mom and dad, but he stopped himself in fear of really being fired.

Although his Miss is really a nice and kind lady, he saw how she can also be tough and unyielding sometimes.

"Miss… May I ask what do you plan after you get discharged?", he finally took some courage to ask. However, he was a little panicked, so he added, "Please don't misunderstand Miss, I won't question your decisions anymore, I just wanted to know how I can assist you."

Yan Rumei took her attention from her laptop and glanced at Assistant Li, "That's good if that's the case. But before we talk about that, has anyone from my previous Accounting team contacted you for work yet?"

Assistant Li immediately answered in dismay, "Unfortunately, I have not received any emails yet."

The business card that Assistant Li gave the co-workers of Yan Rumei only consist of his name and email address. He had different business cards with varying information on them. Which card he will give to a person depends on the nature of what they're dealing with. Otherwise, if he gives a regular business card with complete information like name, position, phone number, email address, and company name, he might just end up getting unending calls.

Yan Rumei pursed her lips and instructed him, "Take a closer watch at what Si Liwei is doing. If he dares to implicate my team on his current issue with Wei Tao, please help in providing evidence to the government and authorities."

"Understood, Miss.", as soon as he said that, Assistant Li turned his attention to his laptop and started to work.

As to why Yan Rumei didn't want to just directly help now, she didn't really care if Si Liwei finds a way to get through this. She didn't care if he even throw the blame on those employees on the main floor because, in Yan Rumei's eyes, they are all rotten.

Yan Rumei also returned to looking at her laptop screen. She has been researching what kind of business will be good for her.

Technically, she can just open her own Accounting firm, but she's really tired of that. That will force her to work hard and take good care of her clients once again.

Of course, she can just watch on the side and be lazy like Si Liwei if she opens a firm but she didn't want to be like that. Besides, the Accounting industry is probably one of the head-splitting industries, especially Public Accounting.

Just imagine the number of businesses that need bookkeeping and tax services. And, even if the economy falters, Accountants will probably be the last employees to be dismissed in a company. That's how busy and complicated their work is.

She only wanted something that she can just easily overlook, so right now, she is only considering businesses that do not need that much attention.

A few on her list are opening a café or a restaurant and renting out apartment units. She is also considering a salon or a spa. But she really can't decide at the moment. So she would wait, maybe fate has something for her in-store.

While both Yan Rumei and Assistant Li were busy with their own laptops, someone opened and entered the room.

As a typical reaction, the two looked at the person who came in.

It was Tan Jiaying. But unlike her unbridled usual self, she was in a dazed state.

Assistant Li raised both his brows in interest, "What happened to you? Were you finally fired by the hospital director?"

He definitely won't let this chance pass by. The past week, he had been a target of this doctor's mocking. Although he knew that that's just how her personality is and she's not really a bad person, he still felt a little sour inside.
