[Level up!]
Unlike the dungeons of the Gates, within the instant dungeon, the monsters here would respawn. While he was sweeping away every monster found on the second floor, all the monsters on the first respawned. While he went back upstairs to deal with them, monsters on the second floor respawned. So on and so forth.
[Level up!]
[Level up!]
Riynsu hopped between the floors, killing them until his level no longer rose up. He basically made the instant dungeon his personal XP farm.
He didn't want to waste this opportunity and made the most of it, as he didn't know when he'd get another chance like this to level up.
Riynsu milked this dungeon so much that he could predict where the monsters would appear without having to sense them.
"A skunk from the shelf."
He lightly evaded the skunk-like creature's claws when it jumped from behind the shelf and swiftly, chopped off its head.
Gkrrrr.
"A wolf from behind."
He quickly lunged and dropped his axe on top of the beast's skull.
Gkrrr!
Kyakk!
[You have killed a 'poison-tail Skunk']
[You have killed a 'Blood claw Lycan']
And after these two he had wiped out the second floor.
He had cleared out the second floor once more. However, his level had not been moving from fifteen for a long time now. It seemed that reaching that high was the limit for the first two floors.
"Stats."
[Strength: 63]
[Agility: 29]
[Sense: 31]
[Vitality: 29]
[Intelligence: 34]
-----------------------
Remaining Points: 0
With him being level 15, his stats had risen up by quite a lot. He could really feel the difference when his agility got to level twenty-five. The agility did not increase his speed, but rather, it was as if the opponent's movement had become far slower in his perception.
As if they moved in slow motion. The scene of the skunk jumping the shelf and the wolf pouncing on him played out in slow-motion. It became easier to evade enemies' attacks, and it also became easier to hit them as well.
As the word implied, he had indeed become more 'agile'.
The so-called speed was wholly dependant on who was looking at it. The higher his Agility Stat, the bigger the difference between him and his enemies would become; from their perspective, he'd look as if he was moving at an unbelievably quick speed.
Riynsu was finishing up his assessment of the agility stat, thinking about the potential it held.
'If both the Strength and Agility increase concurrently, their synergy should be pretty incredible. Not only that, if I could get it high enough then the entire world may slow down for me.'
He shifted away his gaze from the projection.
'what to do now?' he thought.
His level wouldn't increase any higher anymore from this dungeon. So he was puzzled about what to do.
Going through this dungeon, he found out that all monsters had different coloured names depending on how strong it was. For example, grey meant they were weak, orange meant they were strong, and red meant really strong. And as he levelled up most of the monsters' names changed colour.
As he was strolling through the bookshelves on the second floor, a bright object could be seen. His eyes were drawn to it like a magnet. As Riynsu got closer, it was revealed to be a white book with text he couldn't read on the spine.
He had never seen a bright coloured book before, all the other books were dark colours like maroon, navy, and grey. All the books didn't have text on them either. It was as if all the books were lifeless. How did he miss this?
Riynsu reached out to the book trying to pull it out.
'click'.
After the click, a loud noise was heard and the entire room shook. A few books fell out of the shelves and the sound seemed to be something moving.
Riynsu looked around, following the noise finally, he noticed that there was some sort of opening in the wall. Wanting to see what it was, he went up to the entrance. Riynsu saw cracked stairs leading up. Had the system altered the library, or was there already a secret stairway?
"It gives me the creeps," He stated.
With his sense stat so much higher, he could sense the aura of something ominous lurking up there far better than before. Without a doubt, something really strong was hiding somewhere up there.
Riynsu recalled the message he saw back by the entrance of this instant dungeon.
[You can not leave the dungeon. To do so, you must defeat the boss or find the hearthstone.]
The existence of the 'Boss'.
There was a boss in every dungeon, even this one. He had prepared himself as much as he could but, when the time to actually go down there came, he was getting all sweaty and nervous. Riynsu lightly slapped his face.
Riynsu tried to reassure himself, "I've fought many bosses before. I'm much stronger now. I've fought all those monsters to level up for this moment."
As he walked up the stairs, he could feel the tension rising. Was he mistaken, or did these stairs feel much longer than the other? Riynsu swallowed dry saliva as he finally reached the third floor.
The lighting was worse than the first two floors, but there was no problem with seeing where he was going.
"Is it because my senses have increased?" He asked himself.
Looking around he could see he was in a circular room was the walls were filled with books. It seemed the walls were one huge bookshelf.
As Riynsu was walking to the middle of the room, A emerald green eye shined out of nowhere. As he looked closer the eye belonged to a bird-like monster. The wind picked up as a bird-like creature flapped its wings.
"Kakyaaah!!!"
The bird-like creature cried out as it looked towards Riynsu. This bird stood at 12 feet tall. It had gleaming green eyes on the sides, admiral feathers and wings. The creature also had a snow-white feathered head and a sharp, ash grey beak. Its blue feathered belly dropped just above its 4 golden feet.
Riynsu gazed at the bird and read the orange name upon its head.
[Knowledge keeper, Twilight Ayaheru]
Riynsu looked down at the battle axe he held in his hand. It had a few cracks and it was clearly damaged.
"Looks like it's all dull. It seems in the very end, a weapon will lose its durability in the end."
Ayaheru took off the ground, furiously flapping its wings. The wind made Riynsu cover his eyes with his arm.
Both enemies glared at each other, ready to kill. The bird swooped down towards the human. They responded by planting their feet down in a stance, twisting their body, and as the bird got closer, swung their axe.
