"Let me see what I need to buy."
As soon as they entered the huge mall, Alice pulled out a list from her bag.
This was the shopping list that came with the admission notice from Witch Academy, listing all the essential items that students had to prepare before the school term began.
"First up, the usual three items again, school uniform, magic wand, magic book. I have an old school uniform, but, sister, you could... nevermind, let's just buy new ones."
The little witch, who initially thought her sister could wear her old school uniform, looked up at her sister standing in front, hesitated, then quickly took the lead.
Even by the most critical standards, Alice was undoubtedly a real beauty: her hair, golden as sunshine, tied into twin ponytails; her eyes, pure as emeralds, seemed to twinkle like stars; her slightly chubby, delicate face was very pretty, especially with the small fangs visible when she smiled—a killer feature.
However, the little witch was still young, only thirteen, and witch development was no different from humans; at this age, you can't expect a good figure. To put it nicely, it's called being light and soft, petite and cute; to put it bluntly, she had neither curves nor height, a flat-chested niblet, laughable indeed.
The little witch, who was just over one meter tall, envied and resented her sister next to her, then couldn't help but click her tongue.
"Heh, think you're something special with that figure? It's downright indecent."
Although the little one's voice was soft, Dorothy's ears were exceptionally good; she clearly heard her sister's grumbling and couldn't help but smile.
She intended to say a few kind words to comfort her sulky sister, but as the words reached her lips, the image of their beloved stepmother came to mind.
Well, every time the stepmother sweetly walked arm in arm with their father, passersby always mistook him for a creep. In short, it was quite the spectacle.
Sigh, Dorothy just hoped Alice inherited more from her paternal witch mother; otherwise, life might be somewhat difficult.
Although Dorothy had never actually seen Alice's paternal witch mother, she heard she was a tall witch with a great figure, quite the opposite of their dear stepmother. Their break up after a divorce seemed to partly involve issues about physique.
As for Dorothy herself, she could only say that her current physique was truly a gift from the gods, perfect for her previous life's XP.
Standing at one seventy-five, with curves in all the right places, slim long legs, her body was a dream with not a single part out of place by even the most critical standards.
However, as good as it may look, having such a body still came with its unknown troubles. Dorothy never got used to walking with everything jiggling, constantly trembling. Therefore, since puberty, she had mastered the art of bandaging tightly, which was essential for easier movement.
So, there was no way she could wear Alice's old school uniform. She could if she really had to, but she felt that would make her look less like a proper student and more like a tattered-dressed girl, moonlighting in a pink room — better not.
Well then, the first stop would be the clothing store.
Following Alice who knew her way around, the sisters soon arrived at a store named "Miss Mary's Tailor's Cottage," a specialty shop for magic robes run by Miss Mary, a witch with a graceful and wife-like demeanor.
"What clothes do my two beautiful young ladies need first? Would you like me to help pick?"
Upon seeing the Dorothy sisters, Miss Mary's eyes lit up with passion, as if a little girl excited to dress up her favorite doll in new clothes.
Sadly, Dorothy completely ignored Miss Mary's intent, maintaining her typical straightforward male style from her past life. She did not fancy shopping around for clothes like a typical girl, preferring to shop with a list, head straight to her target upon reaching the store, and leave immediately, valuing efficiency above all.
Since she was here to buy a school uniform, simply asking for that would suffice; there was no need to look at other clothes.
Thus, even though Alice beside her looked eager to see her sister try on various outfits, Dorothy completely disregarded her young sister, who was already developing a cheeky interest, and directly told the store owner, Miss Mary, what she wanted.
"I'll need two standard-issue uniforms from the Witch Academy, with magic; choose the Advanced Guardian Spell, Constant Temperature Spell, Shining Renewal Spell, and Automatic Repair Spell. For the pocket design, opt for the generic template number five, and for the size, follow these measurements," she said.
Dorothy handed over the sheet that listed her body measurements and garment specifications to the shop owner, Miss Mary.
Unlike mortals, witches' clothing isn't solely for warmth and covering the body; they typically function as magical items, thus incorporating many other features.
For example, a Guardian could grant a robe the defensive power of armor, while the pockets inside the clothes also expanded in space. Although the space in these pockets wasn't large, similar to professional backpacks, their ease of access made them equivalent to the quick-access item bars in games.
The specifications Dorothy just reported were the settings for a Witch's Robe she was accustomed to; at the end, she added a question.
"How long will it take? School starts tomorrow."
"Well, normally by the evening, but... Oh my, okay, this Miss, one hour. Why don't you girls browse around elsewhere and come back in an hour to pick up the robes?"
Miss Mary was just about to answer routinely when a glance at the note she just received made her eyes pop; she couldn't believe the body measurements written on it were real.
By magic, she had been running a clothing store for over a hundred years and had never seen such explosively perfect measurements. Do such dreamlike perfect figures even exist in reality?
At that moment, Miss Mary felt as if she were divinely inspired by the god of sewing; her passion for her work ignited.
Dorothy, somewhat surprised by how rapidly the store owner had agreed but finding speed preferable, didn't mind at all. She promptly paid the deposit and then, pulling Alice, who reluctantly took her eyes off other pretty skirts in the store, left.
"Hehe, sister, I think that Miss Mary just now might have taken a liking to you. The way she looked at you, it was almost like she wanted to devour you! You should keep your distance from those bad women in the future."
As soon as they stepped out of the clothing store, Alice whispered this mischievously to Dorothy.
Dorothy: "..."
I think you're actually the more dangerous one here.
She silently chastised in her mind, not wanting to comment further on witches' penchant for dating among their own kin.
It's just something she'd gotten used to over the years.
"All right, where to next?"
She affectionately pinched her sister's chubby cheek, changing the subject.
"Let's go to the Magic Wand Store. Sister, your Magic Wand is still the beginner one you bought bundled with a broom when you were little. It's high time for an upgrade. This time, let's get the latest model of the smart Magic Wand."
Alice thought for a moment, then pulled Dorothy towards the second floor of the mall, eventually stopping in front of a store.
"Ruby and Sapphire"
Dorothy looked up at the name of the Magic Wand Store.
The name didn't sound very wand-related.
She thought so but followed Alice inside anyway.
