Max push down his urge to cheer alone with Anny and looked toward the savage like Nedd. He saw Nedd trying to say something but his broken ribcage preventing any motion related to the pumping system. If Nedd was a normal human, even if he doesn't die from that blow, he will die soon after unable to breathe.

Well, Nedd doesn't need to breath

Suddenly Nedd flashed, with a speed that naked eye cannot keep. he closed in toward Nicol and Anny.

At first, Max though Nedd will surely attack him, but the guy was ruthless and cunning to the extreme. Knowing Max value mother and daughter he decided to play dirty. Max understood, Nedd realises he couldn't defeat him and adopted a different method.

Grave Mistake!

Nedd's intentions are clear as a day. He wanted to take Anny and Nicol as hostages. That way he could take down the strong opponent without breaking a sweat. Even before he became Vampire Nedd used this method to scare numbers of upper echelons.

It only took an instance, Nedd already reached a helpless mother and daughter. Although he knew Max was strong he was confident about the short speed he newly acquired.

However, things didn't go as Nedd planned. Just as he smiled cruelly reached Nicol, suddenly an iron grip lock into the back of his head.

Before Nedd could understand what happening, Starting from the head, he felt serving pain penetrate his whole being.

*Bang!*

Accompanying muffled bang, Nedd's head, face first buried inside concrete floor. His head split apart, blood scattered everywhere, however, Nedd didn't die. His life force still strong than ever. As if trying to prove he was still alive, Nedd shot up and flew back toward his group of Vampires.

"Nicol, take Anny and back away," Max said seriously covering their view on Nedd's bloody face.

Although Nedd was fast to run away, Nicol still saw the sight of blood. Understanding Max couldn't always protect them, Nicol nodded and move backwards. When Nedd came toward her she felt death coming near her. It was extremely fearful.

"Daddy I'm scared" Suddenly little girl chock on her words. Although she was too little to understand most things, change in the atmosphere affected her greatly. Even if her daddy stood there protecting them from bad people she couldn't help but feel scared.

"Don't worry princess, those guys are nothing to daddy, stay back for while ok, then we can go to daddy's home" Max smiled confidently trying to ease little girl's worry. It is natural for five years old to feel scared around so much weird things. Those glowing eyes and savage faces enough scare normal adult. Only reason little girl holding up is because she believes her father is the superman.

Seeing little girl slightly nodding Max looked back at Nedd. His wounds are closing fast, his eyes are beyond savageness, he looked almost demonic.

Contrary to Nedd, other Vampires showed some fear, Max faintly felt the anxiety building up. He smiled brightly as the morning sun, further provoking the angry vampire.

"Fools don't let that whore go, go bring them to me" Soon as his jaws healed up, Nedd bellowed at his vampires.

Now His primary goal is catching Nicol and Anny to threated unreasonably strong creature in front of him.

Watching reluctant Vampires slowly starting to move Max open his mouth "Corinne, no need to hide, come out and protect those two"

*step* *step* ...….

"Fine but don't kill them, Van Helsing is coming" As Max called out, Corrine came down from stairs. She came just before Max split Nedd's head, but decide to see how the Alpha going to face more than twenty Vampires.

"You called him already? How much time do I get?" Max asked frowning slightly, annoyed. He must find the place Ron hiding before Van Helsing come here, after that what does he do with those vampires, he didn't care.

"Probably thirty minutes or so," Corinne said standing behind Nicol and Anny, same time she pulled out two pistols. Although her expression looked calm on the outside, she was rather shaken by gazes of Vampires.

"Alright then let's finish this, Corinne do me a favour and take them out," said Max relaxed his neck and hands with soft carking sounds. Next instance Max disappeared for where he stood.

"Get them!!" Same time Nedd screamed ordering Vampires.

However, he was too late, he saw a blur moving fast through the group. Every time it passes a person he or she would send flying different direction. Just in mere seconds whole basement filled with screams and bone breaking sounds of Vampires.

Max didn't kill any of them, they weren't any threat to him. Besides he didn't wish to make thing easier for Van Helsing.

Seeing they couldn't even stand ground against an unknown enemy, Vampire gang start to panic. Disregarding their leader they start to flee.

On the other hand, Max couldn't care less about flee Vampires, his target was Nedd. He could tell all these vampires are Sired by Nedd and Nedd was probably a Ron's Vampire, he is the only clue.
