Monster

The class was in utter and complete silence. No one had expected the newcomer to be such an oddball.

At this point, every student in the class was thinking one of three things.

One, who the hell was this eccentric individual? In a class that had its fair share of strange people, he had certainly done his best to stand out.

Two, how was his skin so flawless? He looked like a character straight out of a fantasy novel. Someone had to update the class's handsome rankings, quickly!

And lastly three, of all the seats in the class, why did he have to choose the one next to the class goddess?

The seat Hade had chosen next to Aliandra was not reserved for just anyone.

A meeting had indeed taken place at the start of the semester to unanimously agree that no one could sit next to the violet-eyed beauty but one particular hot-blooded male had laid his stake and no one had dared to challenge him.

For a few seconds, even Professor Miller was dumbstruck. Her reaction was not induced by astonishment at Hade's peculiarity but rather, by dread.

Of all the bad things that she had thought could happen, this was the absolute worst.

Calley felt a bad premonition in her heart but just as she was about to tell Hade to pick another seat, suddenly-

*Bam!*

The classroom door was banged open.

The intruder was none other than one very tall youth with a stylish buzz-cut hairstyle. His towering height which was well over two meters was not the only intimidating thing about him.

His upper body was so ripped and muscular that the long-sleeved white shirt he wore had been modified into a makeshift vest, paving the way for two massive bulky arms.

"Oh, Professor Miller, I'm sorry I'm late. It's just that today I had a big lunch and-"

Suddenly, the temperature in the room cooled to at least a couple dozen degrees less. Every student in the class except for a few loose nuts held baited breaths.

Rozar, the newcomer, was a fighting prodigy who hailed from the infamous Northlands which were situated to the north of the Edin empire.

Of everyone in Calley's class, it was this youth that the higher-ups believed had the most potential.

Unfortunately for Calley and pretty much every other student in the Origin class, Rozar was not known for his patience. Rather, in just three weeks, he had already accumulated a reputation for his extremely short temper.

Currently, Rozar's gaze was fixated on a particular redhead sitting in the middle of the class staring boredly into space.

Thick veins popped on the robust teenager's forehead and arms as his temper rapidly rose to extremes he never thought possible.

"Well, this should be interesting," mumbled Asher, one of the eerie pair in the back. His twin sister May barely had any change of expression on her stoic face.

Naomi, the girl with the dark brown hair tied into a ponytail shook her head exasperatedly as she pushed her desk and chair away from the center of the classroom, all the while maintaining her signature frown.

As Rozar slowly made his way towards the dumb motherf*cker who had dared to sit in his chair, Calley watched in silence as she prayed that nothing too serious would happen.

School rules regulated that a professor could only interfere in an impromptu fight between students if and only if blows were exchanged.

However, although Calley hated to admit it, a small part of her was actually anticipating the showdown. This was her chance to see what her new student was made of.

What better test was there than to pit him against the strongest guy in class?

Meanwhile, Aliandra was like a fish trapped between two currents. She was already regretting her decision to allow Hade to sit next to her when she knew full well it was Rozar's spot.

"Rozar, I…"

"Shh, don't worry Ally," he cut her off before she could explain. "I'm here now," he consoled.

Rozar was just barely managing to keep the anger out of his voice. After all, in his mind, he was the hypothetical knight saving the damsel in distress.

"Oy, you!" He confronted the new guy,

"Huh?" Hade looked up, mildly surprised. He was bored.

"You're in my chair," Rozar said, his voice low and laced with menace.

Hade was baffled.

'Where the hell did this guy even come from?'

And besides, weren't there a lot of other vacant chairs in the room?

Hade looked around the class only to discover to his astonishment that everyone's attention was fixed on them. Even Professor Miller was also seemingly waiting to see what was going to happen.

'Just fucking great,' Hade cursed internally. This was just his first day and he had somehow made himself the center of attention.

Turning his attention back to Rozar, Hade wondered if this was the bullying he had read so often about.

If it was, then honestly, getting worked up about it just seemed like a drag.

Hade couldn't have cared less about where he sat. After all, it was just a chair, right? He did not see what the big deal was all about.

Hade stood up. He was about to go look for another place to sit when all of a sudden, Rozar grabbed him and lifted him by the collar.

By now, the silence within the class was almost deafening.

Hade narrowed his eyes, this was unwarranted. Even if he had sat on the guy's seat, wasn't resorting to violence taking things a bit too far?

Although he had always considered himself an amicable fellow, being looked down on and manhandled was a whole other matter.

"I will only say this once," he warned. "Let go."

Hade's voice was so quiet it was like he had barely spoken however, judging from the ensuing faint gasps of shock and looks of amazement, it was apparent that everyone in the class had heard him loud and clear.

It was hard to take a person whose legs were dangling helplessly in the air seriously but in Calley's mind, that one sentence magically turned Hade from the victim to the aggressor in only a few seconds.

Rozar, however, was far from amused. Did this guy have a death wish?!

"What did you just say to me?!" He roared.

Unfortunately, Hade was a man of his word and he did not like to repeat himself.

*Pa!*

A piercing sound suddenly resounded throughout the class.

'What the hell?!' None of the students had any idea what the f*ck had just happened!

One second, Rozar was holding Hade by the collar, and the next, the redhead was standing calmly a few feet away from him. It had all taken place in the blink of an eye!

All of a sudden, Rozar started to feel a stinging pain on his arm. He looked down in confusion only to see a large burning red handprint plastered onto his forearm!

"You bastard!" He bellowed. He had lost it.

Rozar threw an unstoppable huge fist hoping to punch the lights out the daring brat but Hade saw the fist coming for him almost in slow motion.

'Isn't this a bit too sluggish?' Hade wondered to himself.

Nevertheless, even he could not underestimate the weight behind that punch.

He fluidly dodged to the side and in an extremely quick motion that only Calley's eyes could track, sent a straight right-handed hook into Rozar's side.

"..."

Once again, the classroom was stunned to silence. Not many could believe what they were seeing.

Rozar was the unofficial strongest in the class, no one doubted his strength.

However, seeing the new kid not only dodge his attack but also respond with a productive counter of his own was more than just surprising.

Rozar stood frozen while his eyes trembled in their sockets in disbelief. He wanted to move and retaliate but he simply could not.

Unable to take the burning pain in his abdomen anymore, he fell to his knees before coughing up a mouthful of blood!

'Fast! Ridiculously fast!' Those were the only words Calley could use to describe what she had just witnessed.

That speed! She could only just barely track it but tracking something and being able to react to it were two different things.

Calley was not at all confident that if she were the one in Rozar's place she would be able to contend with Hade's speed and she was a Sage-class practitioner for God's sake!

That was a whole realm above him!

'This kid,' Calley shivered involuntarily, 'He is a monster!'
