Two faces of the same coin!
Two faces can represent two worlds, two choices, or even two persons; they are usually labelled opposites, reverse sides, or counterparts; yet, beneath this seeming contradiction, few people see these two faces as one, similar, or alike! At last, they are two faces of the same coin: indivisible and interconnected.
"Flipping the coin in the air" gives you the chance to free yourself from the burdens of decision-making. Regardless of which side the coin falls on, the consequences are not related to you but to chance.
The Jun family made an unnamed choice: Rilla on one side and Ha Nia on the other side. The Jun's can just flip the coin, and whichever face is facing upwards after it lands will be the bride-to-be. What the Li family has overseen is that the Jun's have not named the groom either.
When Rilla came to Mei, she kindly wanted to give in on the marriage to help Mei get married to Jun's family. Yet, when Mei left the dining room, Rilla acted differently.
The original plan called for Rilla to act less mannered and educated than Mei and for Mei to demonstrate her full potential. However, after Mei left, Rilla altered her plan, acting tactfully and doing her best to prove herself.
Despite the childish nature of her plan, as Mei Mei pointed out, there was something strange about Rilla's unspoken mannerisms. She acted cold and uninterested towards Wei Jun, which begged the question: what was her true motivation? And whether Mei Mei did not know about her true intentions—what is the other face of Rilla?
The mysterious Sheila from the other side stands out from the others; she behaves more like a lady than a maid. When it comes to Mei Mei, nobody in the Li family can stop her, not even Jiao Hua, who has known this since she arrived with Mei six months ago. Nevertheless, he let her stay and do as she pleased.
The Li Family's mysterious members do not stop here, as Mei Mei is the member that no one knows anything about, despite the fact that she has lived with them for sixteen years. There is no evidence to support this claim. Therefore, to the Li's, Mei is a bad apple, troublemaker, or simply someone who doesn't fit in; however, they were just unaware of her deep-rooted secret—a secret she hid for seven years...
The Li family in general is aware of this crack within their family, but they never show it to outsiders. The image they draw for the media is of a close-knit family where every member understands and supports the other. The media recorded how everyone was crying uncontrollably at the funeral of Mei Mei's father, Feng Li. They talked about how depressed and hopeless they were after losing him. Few people were aware of how nobody was truly grieving over his passing—not even his wife, "Jia Ni"; another secret the Li family is hiding ...
However, the Lis are not the only ones who are like coins with two faces; even the Jun's.... the family who sits at the top of society's pyramid and none can reach, or may be it is just thought this way; no one knew about the black side of this family.
The Jun's unnamed choice made Mei Mei and Sheila wonder why such prestigious family would do that, while everyone want to be part of their family? Something seemed to have set off that dangerous (Xian) girl that evening; her encounter with Wang Lei's mother appeared to shift her equilibrium. The girl known as the ghost by the Li family—someone who never gets upset or depressed—that "Smiley Mei Mei" is currently imprisoned in her room, hoping that no one will approach her for the time being. At the moment while both sides were curious to know what happened between these two, Sheila left Li's mansion to create more chaos and leave everyone questioning what happened. Now everyone in the Li family knew they will not know what happened even if they asked ...their only chance to know is through Wei Jun's mother...
Nevertheless, and for some reasons, Wang's mama did not speak either.
The three opulent vehicles arrived at Jun's estate, revealing the extent of this family's wealth. It is not ancient or traditional; rather, each section narrates the story of various advancements and opulence over many generations. This is not simply a rich family, but rather an extremely wealthy one.
In the car, Lady Jun was absent-minded; she did not speak a word to anyone; all she did was be silent and look out from the window. Her three sons in the other cars were waiting for her news, to utter a word, but in vain. Nothing is said until the cars stop in front of the large entrance of the Jun's mansion. Jun's lady then said she would go to sleep as she had a headache. Wei Jun wanted to follow her, but his father stopped him. The lady went upstairs, and the others went to the living room. Wang Lei started interrogating them as if he was the head of the family, not Sao Yao.
Wang Lei is renowned for having a quick mind and can quickly resolve any problem. That's why his family relies on him for everything, even the family business. Mr. Jun, Wang Lei's father, wanted to retire early to spend more time with his wife, so Wang started business at an early age. Sao Yao left after a short time of their arrival, as an old man, his health is degrading, and Mr. Jun was called to sign some urgent office papers, so he left too.
Therefore, Wang Lei stayed with his brother and sister and his assistant to discuss what happened, hoping to understand what happened to his mother because during the evening, he didn't have a chance to meet Mei Mei, which makes his understanding of her or her behavior very difficult.
Wei Jun and Yue Jun's mission was to observe everything ... Yue did not talk during the whole evening, and no one in the Li's talked to her since everyone was busy proving themselves. She then completed her part of the mission. Her observation revealed how Ha Nia was quiet and a simpleton compared to other girls of the Li family...She thinks that Ha Nia is best of all of them. Additionally, Yue did not like Rilla; she felt that she was superficial and shallow, all she cared about was Mr. and Mrs. Jun's opinions of her.
Yue paused briefly before continuing with her observation because she did not want to make a mistake in front of her brother Wang, who is regarded as a highly esteemed member of the family. Yet, Wang subsequently put her at ease: "talk, little bunny! everything you say can help me in getting what's going on!"
Yue gained some confidence, then started to talk: "when we first entered the Li mansion, we met that girl... her name is Xian Mei ... but they call her Xiao Mei...at first sight, I thought she was kind of model or idol.. I wanted to ask for an autograph or to take a picture with her... she was tactful... polite... good in everything... everyone would fall for her at first sight... but I tried my best to be objective... so I thought she wanted to attract my mom's attention...!"
Wang: "wasn't it the case, Bunny?"
Yue was a bit confused "I do not understand her... actually, when girls receive marriage proposals, they put more efforts!! just like the other girl, her name is Rilla, right!! at first, she was quite.. when Xian Mei left the dining room, Rilla was really trying to prove that she is better than that Mei... but I think that Mei, …hum was more natural... Wang understood that the Li's princess is actually Rilla since the first time he met her, and then he knew that the one they want to engage into the Jun's is her... Although he knew her in some business events, as she was always the star in them, he did not wish to have any deep talk with her... at last it is known that Wang was the shadow prince and his relationships are very few. Since Jian Li is abroad Han Li takes his daughter always into business meetings or events.. it was in the Jin's holding anniversary event that the two of them made acquaintance.
When Wang was sitting in the Balcony trying to avoid the crowd, Rilla followed him and initiated the talk with him... as one of the business partners of Li's company, Rilla took the initiative to present herself to him, yet, Wang was less interested in making any more acquaintances "very boring to him" as his assistant always says. In spite of Wang's cold answers, Rilla did not surrender ... she is known for her stubborn personality... if she wants something, she will work harder to get it...
Initially, Rilla was trying to approach him because she heard her grandfather talking about how would it be great if the Jun's extend their investment in their company; thus, she decided to do her best to attract him... nevertheless, the two times she met him, he had no interest in her business proposals... "very simple to him" his assistant always commented...yet, her stubborn trials to develop her skills was so touching, Wang then decided to have a formal private meeting with her to explain the weaknesses of her proposal and close her issue forever. Every body knows how difficult it is to have a private meeting with Wang Lei, that's the reason why Rilla took this as a positive sign of her attraction to him...
In the day of the meeting, Rilla was well prepared. She looked stunning, driving and exquisite car, dressed elegantly and carrying the one and the only limited edition handbag... no fault in her style...when she alighted from the car, everyone was looking at her; yet, when extravagant wealth is publicly displayed, thieves are the first thing they attract. Someone bumped into her two steps after she got off, and her design bag was snatched... Rilla was so shocked that she let out a loud cry of surprise. Just then, Wang and his assistant showed up; the Chen Yu ran after the thief, while Wang approached Rilla to see if nothing happened to her; and like any lady in fantasy stories, she fell harder for him...
Although the assistant was the one engaged into the fight with the thief and the one who got back her handbag, Rilla thanked warmly Wang for his courage and bravery. Wang then knew what kind of person she was... and his first impression faded away. Although the meeting was so cold, Rilla was so positive about it. Since then, the two have not met... and Wang avoided meeting her again...
Wang then asked his sister: what about your impression of the other girl?
Yue: you mean Ha Nia?
"no!! I got which kind of girls that little one is... she is still young with many things to learn... she is typically a mama's daughter!!" Wang sarcastically said...
Wei Jun agreed to that as he said "true!! she apologized to you without doing anything wrong!! just because her mother told her to do that"!!
Yue then questioned whether Wang meant "Mei Mei", then Wang nodded..
"Yes, I couldn't meet her... so I have no idea which kind of girls she is... my assistant found no information about her either!" he added.
Yue then answered: "actually her beauty suits you very well!! but her personality is quite mysterious!!
Wang questioned what she meant to say..
"as I said before!! I thought she would try to impress my mother or the elders, but she seemed very natural.., Wei Jun have you seen that too?" Yue asked.
"true!! at first she was a normal lady who receives guests, she was tactful and very natural... it was when her maid came that she changed!! that smile she gave to her Sister... have you felt that aura?
Wang exclaimed "which aura?"
"it's akin to your aura brother Lei" Wei and Yue said looking at each other...
"you always taught me to not take things superficially, and take things slowly... when that girl smiled to her sister while leaving the dining room...it was a really kind smile... but only her mouth smiled. Her eyes were like a dead person's... and most importantly, the look on her special maid's face... she was like a tigress who was ready to attack … somethings was weird ... she is good at hiding things.. none even observed that.. if it wasn't you who taught us how to look at people, it wouldn't be easy to know that... I really had goosebumps!!!".
"if so, then she surely wanted you to see that.....so interesting!! You said her name is Xian Mei!! Xian like in dangerous?" he smirked deviously!!
Then, quickly carries on asking "what about her maid?" he addressed the question to Wei Jun and his assistant.
Wei Jun: I am sorry, I almost exposed everything in the evening!
"the assistant also apologized 'have you even observed me even though I was just behind you! you scare me bro!!"
"it is good to know you know your mistakes" Wang said sternly.
Wei Jun carried on speaking "I felt like watching a thrilling movie... the maid's steps were well calculated... Her existence everywhere that Xian Mei was!! they spoke less to each other, but their eyes were full of hidden signs... I still remember how that Sheila looked at Rilla when Mei left!! I thought she will kill her!!"
Chen Yu, assistant, then interrupted "I thought I might have seen her somewhere.. I tried to look closer, but she run quickly when she was taking the doctor upstairs!
Wang : "so that was her special maid!" he murmured!! "she was having a steady voice!! but when she left she had that shaky voice... she was nervous, so it was you her source of anxiety?" he asked.
Chen Yu "I am not sure though, I didn't see her face well"!
Wei Jun: "it was the one who left the mansion after we left too... she took a taxi !! you remember brother? a maid who leaves her lady who is hurt? is that normal in Li's family?
Wang then asked the assistant to gather more information about her and Xian Mei... yet, he was sure that he will not find as much as he wants to... the only way to know them is to keep them close to the Jun's!! closer and closer...…
