"I know that laugh, Bren and I think it's good news." She mumbled.
"Of course, Aly. You are talking with Brenda Maison, sweetie. A family of a lawyer, prosecutor and detective."
Alyssum shook her head when her best friend dragged about her family again. Every time she did investigate or even just gathered information in a short period of time, she was like her family.
Like a Nancy Drew type of thing.
She felt accomplished from doing all this, planning for making Chance fall for her and even gathered information from Miranda.
"Okay, Miss Nancy Drew… What's the information that you gathered and your plan."
Brenda rolled her eyes when she called her 'Nancy Drew' again although she didn't even know about her at first. She perceived that this woman beside her loved Nancy Drew books. But for Brenda, what she wanted to read was her father's law books and some inspirational future detective books or pamphlets.
"Well we will first check the restaurant before we set a real plan."
"I want to savage their date."
"We can do that! But we will talk about that after class, okay?"
Alyssum responded with a nod and glanced in front when their professor walked inside the room and greeted his students. Expectedly, her classmates squeaked when seeing their hot professor.
Knowing that it's Alyssum's brother.
"I hate it when our classmates cried for Mr. Dane's attention." Brenda mumbled, leaning her chin to her inner palm while resting her elbow on the table.
"Mr. Dane Lincoln, huh?" Alyssum murmured while staring at his brother, who was starting to discuss his lesson.
"You told me that you know him? Did you make an appointment with him?" She whined while shaking her off.
She sighed and removed her best friend's hands away from her body. Then, she looked at her and flicked Brenda's forehead. She cried out while caressing her forehead.
"Why did you do that?" She whispered in a scream tone.
"You know Ar— I mean Dane is our homeschool teacher so please be patient and I will make an appointment for you."
"I know… I'm sorry."
Then, she glanced in front and leaned her left cheek to her palm as her elbow rested on the table.
She added, "sometimes, I thought I met him before. I don't know where but he seems familiar, do you think?"
"I-I don't know… But I know him for sure." She mumbled with her eyes focused on Chance, who was freely talking with Miranda.
Suddenly, she felt a loud thud inside her chest while staring at him, smiling widely. She didn't even notice a smile like that when they were together. Hence, she shook her head to eliminate the unwanted thoughts and just concentrated on the lessons.
After an hour, Alyssum and her best friend stepped inside the cafeteria and looked for an empty space. Sadly, there weren't any available seats.
"Should we have lunch in the classroom?"
She responded with a nod but as they walked away, they heard a splash from nowhere. She looked around and there, she saw a girl, who got splashed by Miranda's group.
"They are bullying the new girl." Brenda said.
"I know."
Then, she walked closer to their direction and stopped Miranda. However, Brenda clutched her hands around my wrist and pulled her closer to her best friend.
"Don't involve yourself with them or you'll get in trouble."
She gazed at Brenda and smiled at her, reassuring that she would be fine. "I got this."
Thus, she removed her best friend's grip and strolled closer to Miranda's direction. She stopped in front of them, crossing her arms.
"Well, well, well… Look what we have here. Alyssum wanted to join the troop," Miranda uttered while resting her chin on her hands.
"Join the troop? Oh no, you are wrong, baby girl. In fact, you are sitting in my spot. Do you want to join?" She asked, smiling at her.
"Really. Anyway, where's your friend? I haven't seen her yet." She glanced at her minions, who were laughing.
She narrowed her eyes, wondering why she was searching for Brenda. 'Oh well, I think I need to use it against her. Sorry Bren.' She thought to herself.
"Oh you mean your cousin, Brenda and my best friend? Well I don't know where she is. But honestly, you should know where she is… She's your first cousin." Alyssum said teasingly.
She grinned sweetly when seeing Miranda was clenching her fists in frustration. She perceived that her minions didn't know that Brenda and Miranda were cousins.
'You can't lie about that, Miranda. You will be dead by Brenda.' She thought to herself.
"You are a freak like Brenda!" She cried out and slammed her hands on the table.
"You are overreacting, Miranda. She is my friend and not some random girl and she's a wonderful friend unlike you minions." Alyssum mumbled.
"I hate you and this isn't over, Alyssum!" Miranda cried out while glaring at her.
Her whole body throbbed when grumbling about her hatred towards Alyssum. She stood together with her minions and abruptly, she hit her shoulder to hers.
Then, she walked towards the new girl and helped her to clean the milk all over her body. "Are you okay?" Alyssum asked.
"Yes, I am. Thank you… Ahm…"
"Alyssum… My name is Alyssum Bryne but you can call me Aly."
"Alyssum? Like a rarest flower… I'm Camaro… Camaro Buick."
Then, Alyssum looked around to search for her best friend and when she spotted her spot, she signed her to come. Brenda responded with a nod and strolled towards them.
Alyssum grabbed more tissue and wipes to clean the table and chair before she could sit beside Camaro. Then, she offered wipes to her and helped her to clean herself.
"I have clean clothes inside my locker, if you need one, I could totally lend you one."
"Thank you, Aly and also, thank you for saving me from them."
She hummed and smiled at her. Then, Brenda crouched in front of them and grinned at the Camaro, who's shyly looking at her feet.
"Don't be shy, baby girl. We don't bite." Brenda uttered while smirking at her.
'Here she goes again.' Alyssum thought to herself.
