Chapter 3: Attack on the Marine Base

The journey to the marine base took three weeks and they didn't have any problems along the way since they didn't have to even move from the storage room. Whatever they wanted, Law could get with his devil fruit powers.

While he was travelling, he didn't have anything to do, so he would just practice the main move important for the success of this mission, personality switching technique.

This a special ability that Law has been training for the last five months on Penguin and Shachi. Using this technique, Law can switch the personalities of people, like switching their bodies.

He still couldn't use it at a larger scale like the Law from the show and was limited to only two people.

Law spent his whole journey practicing this technique and when they were close to the marine base, Law heard one of the crew members of the ship say to the merchant "We have arrived at the marine base."

At the same time, the merchant's transponder snail starts ringing. He picks up the call and the person on the other side says "Identify yourself Trendy."

The merchant says "You already confirmed my identity."

The marine on the other side laughs and says "You are clear to dock."

Law hears the whole conversation and then turns to his friends. He says "Ok. I am going to go over the plan one last time. We are strong, but not strong enough to take on an entire marine base. We need to take everyone hostage in this marine base.

Since I can't switch my personality with others, I need both Penguin and Shachi to infiltrate the base.

I will make a room and teleport us into a safe and remote place close by. I will then replace your personalities with the chefs and also get you the sleeping powder. You just have to mix the powder into the food. I will then immediately bring you guys back and then we wait for the sleeping powder to work.

This is the plan. We will start this plan after this ship leaves."

Penguin and Shachi nodded, indicating that they were ready.

Bepo then asked "Why did we have to wait till this ship leaves?"

"Since we plan on staying in the marine base for a while, we can't have any news about us leaving this place. So, we will wait till the merchant ship leaves the base." Law answered.

The northernmost part of the North Blue has harsh climate and is covered with snow all year. You can't even tell whether it is day or night without a transponder snail.

This place is perfect to use his room. Unless his room is inside a building, no one can tell that they are in a room.

Law then made a room when the ship stopped. Law then searched for a place without anyone and teleported them there by switching places with snow. This was another advantage for Law.

They were now inside a storage room in the watch tower, waiting for the ship to leave. An unknown amount of time passed and thry could hear the Marines sending the merchant off.

Law then turned to Penguin and Shachi, and said "It's time to execute the plan. I will keep the room till you mix the powder and make sure there are no problems. You have to be extremely careful and avoid any unnecessary communication with anyone in the base. Remember that they are stranded in this marine base ever since they joined the Navy, so they all know each other very well. So, make sure they don't doubt you."

Penguin and Shachi nodded. Bepo then tied them up and covered their mouths. Law stretched out his hand and a blue translucent sphere appeared.

Law then looked at Penguin and Shachi, for the final confirmation that they are ready. They nodded and Law then scanned his room for the right characters to switch places with.

He found two men who were incharge of serving food. Law then teleported them to the storage room they were at. The two men were shocked to have appeared somewhere else from the kitchen.

They didn't have enough time to be surprised since Law immediately used his knife and does a thrusting motion four times, aimed at the hearts of those two men, Penguin and Shachi.

He then moves his fingers and says "Shambles"

The personalities of Penguin and Shachi are now in the bodies of those two men. Law then hands them a bag with green powder inside it and said "Don't mess anything up. Their dinner time should be in a while. You both also have to eat the food so that when their personalities switch back, they are also unconscious."

They both nodded and Law then sent them back where they came from while the two men in Penguin and Shachi's bodies were struggling to loosen the ropes since they heard Law instruct Penguin and Shachi just now.

Law looked at them and said "After this is all over, you will be very angry at us for what we have done, but I want you to know that we are pirates. There is enmity between us before we even got to know each other. So, this is nothing personal. If you had met us on the sea, you would try to kill us."

They both glared at Law, wanting to kill him even though he is just a kid.

As for Penguin and Shachi, they appeared in the cafeteria, where the food was arranged and ready to serve, mixed with the sleeping powder.

Shachi whispered to Penguin "Even the men who just serve food are huge."

Penguin agreed with what he said since he felt very strong. Usually, he is the weakest in the group, which he makes up with his high intelligence.

Penguin and Shachi waited there for awhile and Marines entered the cafeteria one by one. They served food without speaking to anyone since they didn't want to risk exposing themselves.

One marine even found their silence weird and asked them "Tenja, Hatchi, why are you guys silent today? Usually you are the ones keeping the whole cafeteria lively."

Shachi immediately tensed up and was nervous, which was clearly visible in his face. Penguin immediately came to his rescue and said "We both didn't get enough sleep and are sleep deprived, so we just want to go to sleep as soon as possible."

The marine looked at them for a while before going to his table with his food. The marine looked like he wanted to believe what they said, but couldn't get rid of the suspicion since they didn't looked sleep deprived.

Penguin then whispered to Shachi "Don't tense up everytime someone tries to talk to you. Look more natural."

Shachi whispered back "We both are doing this for the first time, but why do you look like you have experience in this."

Penguin whispered back "That's because I am nervous or scared. I know that Law is monitoring everything happening here and I know that he will save us. I am confident that he will save us even if we get caught, so I am confident in what I say. That makes it seem more normal than your tensed face."

Everyone ate their food and after an hour, everyone started passing out. Law made sure that they wouldn't pass out immediately, since the Marines ate in shifts and it takes approximately one hour for everyone to finish eating. Penguin and Shachi celebrated that their plan worked.

Law then brought them back when they also felt drowsy. He immediately switched back their personalities and the two men, when they got back their bodies, immediately charged at Law.

Law, who was skilled in martial arts, dodged their punches and thrust his hand towards their hearts while muttering "Mes"

Immediately, two hearts popped out of their chests still beating. He then used Shambles and they appeared in his hand. The tow men looked at their hearts now in the hands of Law while they had a hole in their chests.

The sleeping powder then got to them and they passed out.

Law immediately dropped to his knees after that. Bepo helped him stand and walk. He knew what is happening, since Law had to maintain a room that covers the whole marine base for an hour, it took a heavy toll on his body.

Law then freed Penguin and Shachi, who also helped him walk. Law then teleported to all the places with Marines and used 'Mes' to take their hearts.

It took them more than 10 minutes, but Law made sure not to miss even a single marine, since it will lead to failure of their plan.

Law was completely exhausted by the time he was done collecting all their hearts.

Penguin looked at their beating hearts and said "Law, you are amazing. Your devil fruit powers are very strong. We are going to wreck havoc in the grand line."

Law smiled and said "With this alone, we might only get through the first half of the grand line."

All three of them tensed up when they heard that. This also gave them more motivation to train harder.

Penguin then looked at Law, who looked like he could pass out at any moment. He said "Law, you need to rest now."

Law shook his head and said "There is one last thing to do"

He then used scan to search for all the transponder snails and teleported them to their location. After they appeared before them, both the hearts and the transponder snails disappeared again.

Shachi asked "Where did you put them?"

Law replied "They are in a safe place. They are our bargaining chips."

He then teleported them to a room with four beds and immediately passed out on a bed. Shachi looked at Law and said "He is going to be a very powerful pirate and will have a lot of enemies. We have to become someone he can rely on, instead of becoming a burden."

Penguin looked at Shachi and said "I didn't know you could speak this well."

All three of them were now filled with determination to become strong with him. They then went to sleep since they all worked hard as well. Penguin and Shachi were mentally exhausted from the personality switching.

The next day, Law and the group woke up, along with all the Marines in the marine base. Law could hear their panicked voices from their room.

Law then looked at his friends and said "Looks like they are up. Why don't we go introduce ourselves."

They all nodded. Law then made a room and teleported everyone to the training grounds in the base. The Marines were confused as to what was happening, except two men, who had already experienced all this earlier.

They came forward and rushed at Law, who didn't react and let Shachi and Bepo handle them. It didn't take much effort for them sincd although they were not physically stronger than the two men, they were skilled enough after their training with Law.

Law then sent them back to the croud and said "I am sure you all are confused, since you woke up with a hole in your heart and suddenly appeared before four kids who handled two grown men with ease.

Before we get to the important stuff, I would like to tell you that I have all your hearts and they are safe with me. They will stay safe if you all co-operate with us.

I have all the transponder snails in the base and I want all of you completely cut off connection with the outside world. Also...."

A shirtless man with huge moustache, huge bulky body, walked forward and asked "And what are you going to do if you if we don't listen to you? We don't care about our lives since we were ready to die ever since we joined the Navy."

Law smiled and said "It is way better to demonstrate to the crowd than just using words. To answer your question, I know you are prepared to die, so I won't threaten to kill you, instead..."

He then used 'Shambles' and a heart appeared in his palm.

Law continued speaking "I will just kill the person next to you." squeezing the heart in his hand.

A marine standing beside him immediately dropped on his knees gripping his chest and crying out in pain.
