Chapter 51: After the massacre

The light of Dawn shone announcing the beginning of a new day, the gentle rays of the sun crept through the dense branches of the trees spreading the morning warmth to Arthur, who was sleeping quietly in the middle of the forest.

Due to having spent the whole previous day in training and being unable to sleep due to Kaido's Sudden Attack, Arthur became very tired, so as soon as he found a safe place, he fell into a deep sleep.

….

After sleeping for about six hours Arthur opened his eyes, took a sitting position and looked around to see if there were any changes in his surroundings.

After finding that everything was normal, Arthur stood up and headed towards Takeda, who was wrapped in bandages and who was sleeping soundly, not interested in what was going on around him.

"Get up, it's time for us to return to the camp," with a simple movement of his hand Arthur slapped Takeda.

"Uh, an enemy attack," Takeda opened his eyes in surprise, he tried to move his body with difficulty trying to take a fighting posture and defend himself but he couldn't.

After he opened his eyes well and regained his clarity and found Arthur looking at him with an indifferent gaze, Arthur turned around and began to walk away, Takeda stood up with difficulty and walked with heavy steps in an attempt to pursue him.

After walking for a few hours, Arthur arrived at a giant sakura tree that bloomed its floral buds, adding a showy atmosphere to the gloomy forest.

Around the tree the bandits gathered and there were blank looks on their faces. Most of them could not get over what happened last night yet.

Arthur looked at the people present and found that more than half of the bandits did not exist.

The atmosphere was very gloomy so no one spoke, Arthur found a tree trunk and walked towards him, he sat very calmly waiting for Ashura Doge's next decision, After sitting for a few minutes, Takeda caught up with him, whose bandages had become brown due to the dirt, apparently he had fallen while walking to this place.

'More childish than I thought.' With a small sigh Arthur took his eyes off Takeda and directed them towards Ashura, who was sitting under the sakura tree.

'Just small burns and some scratches, He could to escape without any losses, despite his large size he is very fast and agile, if I face him now I have no chance of defeating him but I can hold out against him for a few for some time ' after his short analysis of Ashura Arthur turned his eyes to the old Yamada.

'He didn't get a scratch, he was able to run smoothly and avoid all stray attacks, it seems to me that he is faster than Ashura and more agile than him, but in terms of strength he is much weaker, if I get favorable conditions I can defeat him.' Arthur's analysis was based on his point of view and little knowledge of them.

It was a preliminary analysis, but he was confident in one thing: he should not underestimate them, because if he makes a wrong move against enemies stronger than himself, he will die.

….

All the Bandits continued to sit in silence, no one spoke or asked any questions, the atmosphere was very gloomy, after a long time Ashura stood up and said in a deep voice:

"All our activities will be suspended in the coming months, if any of you want to withdraw, I don't mind that," Ashura fell silent and looked at the people around him calmly.

" I want to leave, " a man from the bandits raised his left hand, the other hand was wrapped in bandages while his face contained a look of pain. He almost died last night and many of his friends died.

Ashura did not mind and moved his head as a sign of his approval, watched the back of the man who walked away from them in the middle of the forest and then looked at the other bandits and said:

"Is there anyone else who wants to leave?"

After the bandits saw one of their comrades leave, many of them gathered their courage and raised their hands.

After a lot of bandits left, only 7 people remained, including Arthur and Ashura.

"Yamada, go to our previous camp and keep a close eye on it. If there are any strangers, come back and tell me," Ashura strictly directed his orders and distributed the tasks to all the remaining people.

The task of Arthur and some men was to collect the corpses of their comrades scattered in the forest and bury them out of respect for them.

The campfire caught fire and spread its swaying light through the trees near it. Arthur sat down near the fire while he held a small dagger in his hand and trimmed a small piece of wood.

While Arthur was sitting and immersed in his thoughts he felt someone approaching him, raised his head and looked around to find Takeda calmly approaching him, sat next to him and watched the fire manipulated by the air and said in a low voice:

"You're not from this country, are you?""

Arthur wasn't surprised and all he did was say:

"Guess "

" Given the current circumstances, I am your subordinate, and I have a request that I wish would come true for me, " Takeda calmly challenged, looking at Arthur's face.

Arthur raised his eyebrow surprisingly and asked:

" What is it? "

"I want to leave this place, because if I explore this world and broaden my horizons, then I can raise my strength. Even though this country is vast, what I can learn is very limited," Takeda said as he threw some logs into the fire in front of him.

Arthur did not respond and continued to observe the fire in front of him. This situation lasted for several minutes until Takeda began to feel some tension. When he opened his mouth and wanted to say something, he noticed that Arthur put his hand in his pocket and took out a piece of paper and a pen.

Takeda was surprised by this but did not speak and interrupted Arthur's actions. Arthur wrote something in the paper and put it in an envelope Takeda did not know where Arthur took it out from.

When Arthur was done with his actions, he said:

"Well, I'll grant you your wish," he extended the envelope in his hand and gave it to Takeda and continued, " when you leave this place, you will find a ship moored somewhere near this island, I give this envelope to the captain of the ship, don't talk to anyone and don't tell them about me."

Takeda listened to Arthur's words with all concentration, but he did not understand many things, although he did not ask any questions, he was aware that he would go too far with his requests.

After Takeda received the letter and memorized Arthur's orders, he went to his tent to sleep and get some rest. He quietly put the letter under his pillow and tried to sleep, but no matter what he did, he could not sleep out of enthusiasm.

His feelings were conflicting-enthusiasm, fear, sadness, joy, he was sad that he was going to leave his homeland and at the same time he was happy that he was going to discover the vast world outside, he was afraid of that outside world and afraid of what he was in but he was also excited about what he would discover and what he would do there.

"I can't believe I'm leaving this place," was an incredulous Takeda of the way things were going. He casually asked Arthur, expecting that his request would be rejected, but the result left him stunned.

The next morning he accompanied Arthur into the deep forest and watched the Giant Eagle land in front of him as before.

Then he saw Arthur, who was standing quietly near the Eagle, beckoning him to get on the Eagle's back.

Without any hesitation, Takeda jumped over the Eagle's back and clung tightly as he closed his eyes in horror, hesitation was filling his heart, so he acted quickly to leave no room to retreat.

While he was reviewing his fears, he felt a breeze caressing his hair and face, he calmly opened his eyes to find himself soaring in the sky away from his home, at that moment there were no worries left in his heart, but a feeling of calm and serenity.
