One Piece: The Strange Talent of Cedric Strode

He was just an ordinary college student before he woke up in the body of a young boy in the South Blue, a world filled with pirates and danger. But he soon discovers that he's not completely powerless - he has the Hercules Method's booklet, a mysterious text that promises to teach him incredible physical abilities. With the help of the booklet and his quick wits, Cedric manages to survive on his own as a street urchin in the lawless Four Clover Island. But he quickly realizes that he needs more than just physical strength to survive the world of One Piece and its treacherous seas. ----------------------------------------------------------------- This is a One Piece fic. It starts in South Blue on a lawless island unaffiliated with the World Government. The story's pacing will be moderate, not too slow, but not too fast. There will be no system or any gamer BS. That said, the protagonist won't go into the world of One Piece with nothing to help him. However, he will have to work hard to get stronger and achieve his goals. As always, I like to go with the flow when I write new stories, so I won't know if I'll add smut, harem, or romance until the plot progresses further, depending on whatever feels more natural at that point in time.

The Lawless Haven #147

Cedric and Khalifa entered the bustling restaurant of the inn, their appetites stirred by the aroma of freshly cooked meals and the lively chatter of the patrons. However, their excitement quickly dampened as they realized every table was occupied, leaving no empty seats available.

Cedric let out an exasperated sigh, his brows furrowing in annoyance. "Great, it's packed," he muttered under his breath, his frustration evident.

But Cedric was not one to be deterred easily. He spotted the nearest table, occupied by two pirates engrossed in their conversation, and a mischievous glint danced in his eyes.

Silently, Cedric approached the table, his presence unnoticed by the pirates absorbed in their discussion. Without warning, he swiftly reached out and grabbed one of the pirates by the nape of his shirt, lifting him effortlessly from his seat. With a casual motion, Cedric unceremoniously threw the pirate to the side, creating a vacant spot at the table.

The commotion caught the attention of the other pirate, who slammed his hands on the table and rose to his feet, ready to confront Cedric. "What the fuck do you think..." he began, his voice filled with anger. However, his sentence trailed off as he found himself staring down the barrel of Cedric's revolver, aimed directly at his face.

Cedric's eyes narrowed, his glare piercing through the pirate's bravado. "Get lost, punk," he growled with a low, menacing tone, his voice carrying the weight of authority and a hint of danger.

The pirate's bravado dissolved in an instant as he recognized the infamous pirate standing before him. His throat went dry, and he slowly began to back away, wordlessly retreating from the confrontation.

The other patrons of the restaurant watched the scene unfold, a mix of shock and awe painted across their faces. The sudden display of power and dominance left a lingering tension in the air as Cedric reclaimed the now-empty seat, an unspoken message to the rest of the room.

Khalifa, ever the observant one, couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at Cedric's swift and forceful actions. She took her seat beside him, her gaze fixed on his face, waiting for an explanation. But she knew better than to interrupt him at this moment, allowing the weight of his presence to settle before speaking.

"What's that about...? Trying to impress me?" Khalifa asked, raising an eyebrow.

"As your boss, I'd say it's your job to impress me, not the other way around..." Cedric replied with a grin. "That said... though I act nice most of the time, I'm still a thug and a pirate at heart..."

He paused, his grin widening before he continued. "There's a saying back home... you may leave Four Clover Island, but Four Clover Island will never leave you..." He added with a chuckle.

"Do they really say that...?" Khalifa said as she shot Cedric a skeptical look, clearly unconvinced.

"No, but it still sounds cool..." Cedric replied, shamelessly laughing and shaking his head. "Anyway... let's get something to eat and get out of here... I intend to see and experience everything Jaya has to offer before the end of the week..."

Khalifa walked alongside Cedric, her steps cautious but curious as they ventured deeper into the chaotic streets of Mock Town. The tropical sights and bustling atmosphere painted a vivid picture of a pirate haven, a place where lawlessness reigned. Danger lurked at every corner. Gun shots echoed in the distance, and pirates stumbled out of bars with rowdy laughter and drunken revelry.

Mock Town lived up to its name, but Cedric seemed to relish its lawless atmosphere. His carefree spirit shone through as he wrapped one arm around Khalifa's waist, pulling her closer to his side. In his other hand, he clutched a bottle of rum, the drink of choice for many pirates in this raucous town.

Cedric's eyes sparkled with a mix of mischief and fondness as he gazed at the chaotic streets of Mock Town. "You know, Mock Town reminds me so much of home," he remarked, his voice filled with nostalgia.

"Well... that explains a lot, I suppose..." Khalifa replied with a chuckle.

"It's the lawlessness, wild spirit that permeates the air," Cedric explained, his voice carrying a mix of fondness and wistfulness. "Back on Black Clover Island, it was much the same. A place where rules were suggestions and freedom was our guiding principle."

"That's kind of poetic..." Khalifa remarked, halting as she gave Cedric a weird look. "Are you going to start singing now?" She jokingly asked.

Much to her surprise grinned and nodded. "You what, I think I'll do just that...." He replied with a loud laugh.

"You... you can't be serious..." Khalifa said, her eyes wide as she stared at Cedric.

He merely shrugged. "I'm dead serious... observe!" He paused, taking a deep breath before delivering on his promise.

Cedric's voice soared once more, captivating the attention of passersby. "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me," he sang, his voice blending with the vibrant sounds of the town. "We pillage, plunder. We rifle and loot!"

The streets of Mock Town seemed to come alive, the intertwining trees lining the roads swaying to the rhythm of Cedric's song. The vibrant slanted roofs of the buildings cast playful shadows as the sun peeked through the leaves, creating a kaleidoscope of colors.

"Through Mock Town's streets, our footsteps roam!" The streets of Mock Town seemed to come alive, the intertwining trees lining the roads swaying to the rhythm of Cedric's song. "With hearts ablaze, we make this place our home!" The vibrant slanted roofs of the buildings cast playful shadows as the sun peeked through the leaves, creating a kaleidoscope of colors.

As Cedric's boisterous voice filled the air with the pirate's anthem, the reactions from the people around them varied greatly. Some pirates regarded Cedric with a mix of awe and admiration, recognizing a kindred spirit in his audacious display.

Others cast fearful glances, their eyes widening at the gall of a wanted pirate flaunting his presence so openly. Mock Town was no stranger to eccentricity, but Cedric's performance stood out even in this town of outlaws.

As Cedric sang his heart out, Khalifa walked beside him, her steps faltering for a moment as she watched in stunned silence. As a CP9 agent, Khalifa was accustomed to operating in the shadows, navigating the world with a low profile and calculated moves. The audacity and theatrics displayed by Cedric, a wanted pirate, left her momentarily speechless.

In a town filled with pirates, where lawlessness was the norm, Cedric's unreserved actions seemed to blend in seemlessly and stand out simultaniously. He fearlessly paraded through the streets, shamelessly belting out the lyrics of the pirate's anthem. The gazes of the onlookers ranged from disbelief to curiosity as they witnessed this unexpected spectacle unfold before them.

Khalifa couldn't help but feel a mixture of shock and amusement. She had never seen someone embrace the pirate life so unabashedly, wearing their wanted status like a badge of honor. Cedric's carefree demeanor and unwavering confidence began to chip away at Khalifa's reservations, drawing her closer to his infectious energy.

A soft smile tugged at the corners of Khalifa's lips as she leaned closer to Cedric, her eyes sparkling with a newfound amusement. The initial shock melted away, replaced by a growing sense of liberation. She realized that in this lawless town, she had the rare opportunity to momentarily shed the cloak of secrecy and immerse herself in the unrestrained spirit of Mock Town.

With each step they took, Khalifa found herself stepping out of the shadows and into a realm of unfiltered expression. She let out a chuckle, the sound mingling with the livelu atmosphere around her. The weight of her responsibilities as a CP9 agent momentarily lifted, replaced by a sense of lightness and freedom.

As they continued their journey through the vibrant streets, Khalifa's gaze shifted from the awestruck faces of the onlookers to Cedric's beaming smile. It was a smile that defied convention, a smile that seemed to say, "This is who your new boss is. Take it or leave it."

And in that moment, Khalifa made a choice. She chose to embrace the unapologetic audacity of Cedric's spirit and let herself be swept away by the pulsating energy of Mock Town.

With each passing moment, Khalifa's own smile grew wider, mirroring Cedric's infectious enthusiasm. The weight of her clandestine existence as a CP9 agent seemed to dissipate, replaced by a newfound appreciation for the freedom that Mock Town offered.

For a brief time, she allowed herself to be carried along by the current of Cedric's brazen actions, reveling in the thrill of being unbound by rules and expectations.
