One Piece: The Rising Tide

No Harem, No System, No Op Protagonist Caspian Maverick lived his entire life bound to a wheelchair, but he didn’t let that stop him from sailing the world, or from getting a masters degree in engineering. He never resented his lot in life and did his best to make the most of his circumstances. After dying in a violent storm while at sea he was lucky enough to be granted an audience with an Elder God. This is where Caspian was given the opportunity of a lifetime; a second chance at life in another world. Not only was he given his legs back, but he was given abilities beyond his wildest dreams and the chance to explore a world 10 times the size of earth. With his knowledge of the future and the gifts he was bestowed, Caspian may just take the world of One Piece by Storm. The MC will grow to be quite powerful as the story progresses, but he’ll never be able to one shot an Emperor, or curb stomp an Admiral. This isn’t that kind of story. His power may give him an edge against most Devil Fruit users, but it’s not like he can strait up cancel their abilities. And as stated recently in the One Piece Manga by Kaido, powers alone can’t help one conquer the sea. In other words, I’ll do my best to make his abilities fit into the world of One Piece without messing up the power balance. He also won’t be following Luffy, Ace or Sabo. He will form his own crew and be an adventurer. I do not own the cover photo. I found it at Http://amarevia.deviant art.com If the creator would like me to take it down I will.

A Noble Annoyance Part 2

"Hey Pirate! Be carful when you hit that boy! I've got dirt all over me!" The arrogant noble said in a feeble attempt to regain his false-dignity.

He stood there like a flowery moron, trying in vain to wipe off a dirt stain from his frilly, laced jacket, but no matter how hard he tried it wouldn't leave. Causing him to grow even more impatient and ill tempered. Honestly if he gave his son half the attention he's giving that jacket things wouldn't have gotten to this point.

"Kids have to live as their parents say because parents brought them into the world." Sabos father continued as if he was never interrupted. "How dare you three tempt Sabo to run away! Your just a bunch of wannabe thugs! What? Are you after my money? Is that it?"

I didn't even bother to correct him here, I just rolled my eyes. People like this are simply too stupid to bother with. He can't see past his own interests. There's no point in arguing with someone like this. Someone like him isn't even worth the effort to insult anymore.

As Mark Twain once said "Never argue with a stupid person. They will drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience."

"Stop it! Nobody tempted me into anything!" Sabo yelled while slipping the hold of the men "escorting" him. He ran desperately before his father with tears of resentment and anger clear in his bright blue eyes.

"I ran away of my own free will! I hated it in that place! I hated everything about it! The way you treated me! The way people acted! I want no part in any of it!" He practically roared, letting out all his pent up frustration towards his family in a single outburst.

"You stay out of this!" His father snapped back, reacting as if his sons heartfelt words meant less to him than my half assed insults.

"Hmph." With a nod from the noblemen the riflemen stepped forward and gripped Sabo by the arms before beginning to drag him away.

I clenched my teeth as I saw him look back at us. Fear and longing replacing the anger and resentment. I felt my heart ache as I saw that look.

"I'll leave the rest up to you pirates." Sabo's father stated, breaking me from my thoughts as the nobleman took his leave. I calmed myself and let him go without a fuss. But there was a chilling glint in my golden irises.

'Just because your walking away doesn't mean it's over. No… not by a long shot… in fact, this is only the beginning.' My rage slowly dwindled and was soon replaced by a blazing pride at the thought of what this will push Sabo to become.

"Of course my lord. You've already paid us well in advance." Bluejam's slimy voice stated in farewell, continuing his bootlicking in hopes of removing the bounty from his head and becoming a noble himself. A pathetic dream for a pathetic man.

"We'll take care of these three. They won't never bother your boy again." Bluejam added confidently, even going so far as to pound his fist to his chest. He still hasn't realized that the moment those rifles are out of range of Luffy and Ace, he's a dead man.

"Sabo you said you want to live freely didn't you?" Ace screamed, desperately trying to escape as the men pinning him struggled against his attempts. His strength surprising them as he easily overpowered the three of them together. This just reinforces my belief that, If they didn't have a blade to Luffy's throat he would have undoubtedly broken free long ago.

"Sabo! Don't go!" Luffy wailed, unable to fight against the combined weight and strength of the pirates pinning him.

"Sabo! Are you going to give up on your dream?" Ace's voice was filled with pain as Sabo walked away, hidden tears streaming down the young Nobles face.

"Oi Sabo! We'll be fine. Just do what you think is best! This is merely a bump in the road. You're going to write the greatest adventurer novel this world has ever seen aren't you? Consider this the beginning!" I yelled out, my voice carrying far over the piles of garbage as I tried my best to reassure him in the only way I knew how.

He looked back with renewed resolve, doing his best to smile even in this seemingly dire moment before being pushed along by the guards and forced to walk instep beside his father. The last I saw of his face it was hardened into a grim determination.

"Sabo!!!" Ace and Luffy yelled out simultaneously, their pain filled voices echoing in the stagnant air.

"Captain Blue Jam, what should we do with these ki-" Bluejam's lackey never finished his sentence as Ace roared out and a wave of energy spread through the area, kicking up the dust and ruffling my hair.

For a moment no one moved, then one of the men pinning Luffy to the ground slipped to the floor like he had his strings cut, falling completely unconscious. Half of Bluejam's crew followed him, collapsing to their knees with their eyes rolled back in their heads. Yet Bluejam stood tall, only seeming to stumble for a short moment. My eyes widened in shock as I realized what just transpired.

'So that's what conquers Haki feels like.' I thought idly while looking at the son of the Pirate King and future Commander of one of White Beard's ships. All the hairs on my body were standing on end. A cold shiver crawled up my spine.

The instant Luffy was freed, Ace broke the hold, and the the nose, of the man closest to him. Luffy jumped up to join the fight as I spun around and shot blasts of water at the remaining members of Bluejam's crew. Pulling out my trident I clicked the button, extending it to its full 7 foot length, easily parrying an incoming blade, pinning it between the two prongs of the trident before twisting it to disarm the Pirate. With a quick stab I ran him through and moved on to the next.

'Can't fall behind now can I?'
