One piece: The Mob's Diary

Rell, a random guy from Earth, one day reincarnated into One Piece world after his death and became the small baby of a couple living in Loguetown. However, unlike most reincarnation stories, his life was pretty normal and average after that. No abnormal powers, no super talent in anything, no advantage over others... Nothing. There were no problems coming one after another, as reincarnators tend to have, and most of what happened around the world barely even affected him or his family. He was just another normal boy from Loguetown. Albeit, with the memories of an adult whom, you would say, knew about the future. That, however, was only until he became 8 years old, and a strange screen appeared in front of him. [Diary's System Activated! Write anything you want in your new digital diary, and you will be rewarded with special rewards depending on how important what you write in here is!] At that moment, Rell didn't really care all that much about the weirdness of his system. He was more focused on the free rewards other than anything. However, it was several years later that he finally noticed that something was wrong and that it probably was all his fault. "What in the world happened to the story?!" Some people say that diaries are a private thing. However, his system certainly didn't share that opinion ... °°° (A/N: The illustration of Nami is made by ᑕᕼᗩḰᕮ. Being too greedy

...

After writing the whole paragraph about Ace, Rell nodded his head in satisfaction before he then put the Diary and the pencil down.

"Alright... Maybe I wrote it too much like a storyteller, but whatever..."

[It's perfect, host]

"Then? What's supposed to happen now?"

[Now comes your prize, Host]

Tilting his head at the voice in his head, Rell raised an eyebrow, before suddenly a strange roulette appeared in front of his eyes, and startled him slightly.

"These things appear out of nowhere..."

Then, not giving him a chance to react, the roulette suddenly started spinning around. Making him look at it in a daze.

[The function of the roulette is simple. See those darkened objects drawn in it?]

"Yeah"

There, in the roulette, there were several silhouettes of what he assumed were the prizes, and although most of them were blacked out, he would still somewhat guess what they were because of the shape.

Some were potions, others were armor pieces like gauntlets or helmets, others were... Err... Well, the others were a little bit harder to know what they were.

[Well, whichever object the roulette stops in after spinning, it will give it to you]

"It's surprisingly simple..."

[That's because I'm a very considerate System]

"..."

Ignoring the System's comments, Rell leaned forward and continued watching the roulette spin with attention.

After seeing the great number of objects and items available, he was very curious about what they would do!

Like that, ten seconds passed and the roulette finally started slowing down. Making Rell widen his eyes as he watched the result with attention.

[Oho]

Then, finally slowing down for good, the roulette came to a complete stop, before then the figure of the object where it had stopped was revealed, and a bottle with a liquid similar to water, but slightly more green, emerged into his view.

Then, as if it was some kind of 3D movie, suddenly the image of the item moved forward, and from one moment to another it gained three dimensions and fell onto the confused Rell's hands.

"This is...?"

[What a shame, you got the most common object in roulette. A healing potion]

"Healing potion?"

Looking at it from top to bottom, Farid got closer to the bottle and began examining it with curiosity. Trying to see if it was viscous, or completely liquid like water. However, after noticing that the only difference from normal water was its slightly green Color, Rell sighed, before he put down the bottle and asked the System.

"How does this work? Do I have to apply it on my injuries, or drink it directly?"

[Both work. Once you have applied the potion, it will hasten your body's natural healing properties, and will make it so that an injury that would take weeks to heal is healed in less than a day]

"... And you say this one is the most common object in the roulette...?"

[Indeed]

"... Huh..."

At that moment, an indescribable feeling struck Rell.

The System had spoken such details about the potions as if it was nothing grand, but for Rell, who had enough knowledge about the medicine from his previous world to know how amazing such an effect was, couldn't help but feel completely different from his System about the object in his hands.

A very familiar feeling. One that would arise from time to time when something amazing appeared in his boring life, and one that would make him much more impatient than normal.

Greed.

"Hmm... I wonder if I should write some more"

Saying so while already having the pencil and the Diary in his hands. Rell smiled before he then prepared to write something right away.

However, as he was about to do so, the System spoke up once more and stopped him in his tracks.

[You can do so if you want, Host. However, just know that you can only spin the roulette once every day, so even if you write something very important there in there now, it won't give you anything]

"What? Why?"

[So you don't abuse it]

"Tsk..."

Clicking his tongue as he placed the Diary down, Rell then sighed, before he then picked up the healing potion he had obtained, and raised an eyebrow.

"Hey, is there anything like an inventory inside you? I don't want my parents to ask what the hell is this when they see it. In the worst case, they will think I'm doing drugs at 9..."

[Yes, there is, host. However, you can only store your prizes there, and any other object is not allowed]

"Good enough. Could you store this for now then?"

[Gladly]

Seeing as the potion disappeared from his hands to be stored by the System, Rell nodded, as he then stood up and stretched his limbs.

Today had been a really hectic day, and from here on, it seemed as if his days were going to be much more interesting than normal now that a System had appeared to aid him.

However, now that all the excitement had subsided, Rell couldn't help but feel nervous.

After all, whenever there's a System, there are problems around the corner. It was a basic rule of Systems, and everyone knew it.

What's more, he was making him write important things about the world in a Diary, in exchange for incredibly powerful items.

Something was obviously off here...

However, he couldn't quite put his finger on what. And to make things worse, his greed was also making him uncaring about what it was.

If it meant to get more amazing stuff like the potion from earlier, who cares about its purpose? That was what he subconsciously thought, even if not saying it out loud.

Looking around, Rell then turned to look at his fists and started closing and opening them as if trying to feel his own strength.

Then, as a wry expression appeared on his face, Rell looked at the air with a worried gaze in his eyes. Seemingly anxious about something.

'If problems really come later... Let's just hope Karate will be enough to go through them...'

Surely, it wasn't going to be enough.

|At that moment, in Foosha Village...|

...

"So boring...~"

Sitting at a chair in Makino's bar, Luffy could be seen sulking as he glanced at a glass in front of him with an upset expression.

A few days had passed since Shanks had left Foosha Village to continue his journey as a pirate. And since that day, Luffy had been bored out of his mind as they were probably the only people he could call "friends".

Sure, he had Makino or the Mayor. However, more than that, there was not really anyone else he could call a real friend as Shanks and the others had been.

Because of that, he had been in really low spirits ever since that day. Barely doing anything aside from sulking at Makino's bar every day. Much to the worries of Makino and the Mayor, who cared about Luffy a lot.

Even at the moment, he was simply doing what he did every day since Shanks left. Sitting at the counter of Makino's bar, and drinking all the orange juice he could. Similar to how Shanks and the others would often drink booze until they couldn't resist anymore.

"Hmmm...~"

-Tap!-

"Hmm...?"

However, as if by coincidence, suddenly a strange thing fell in front of him, and snapped him out of his sulking state. Making Luffy look all around in confusion, not understanding where the strange object had appeared from, before then looking back at the object, curious about what it was.

Right next to the glass from where he had been drinking orange juice a second ago, there was now a strange and dirty book that anyone would mistake for trash.

Seeing it, and noticing that there was no one near to have actually placed it there, stars appeared in Luffy's eyes, as he glanced at the book with awe.

"OOOOOH, WHAT'S THIS? A MAGICAL BOOK?"

Picking it up in a hurry, Luffy stared at it from top to bottom, before he then opened it and tried to see what was inside.

However, his expression darkened when he noticed that the book was completely empty, save for one page that had a paragraph talking about something he didn't understand.

Something about war, about some guy called Whitebeard, and what more about someone called Ace. By the point, he had finished reading (barely), Luffy had a frown on his face as he hadn't understood a thing at all.

"Who's this Ace? I thought there would have been something cooler... Boring~"

Of course, as the NOT-avid fan of books that he was, Luffy soon lost interest in the book and threw it aside without bothering himself more with it.

However, as unexpected as it was, just when he was about to start drinking orange juice again, suddenly the book appeared above him once more before it fell right next to the glass, just like it had done previously.

"What's with this thing?"

Grabbing it with a raised eyebrow, Luffy threw it away once more, before he then saw as it appeared right above him once again. Making him repeat the same action a few times, as a confused expression appeared on his face.

It was only after the tenth time, that Luffy finally stopped and set the book aside. Seemingly having gotten bored of it.

"Whatever"

Saying so, Luffy picked up the orange juice glass once more, and prepared to drink from right away.

-Creeeaaaak...-

-Thud, thud-

It was at that moment, however, that suddenly the door of the bar opened, and heavy steps started being heard. Making Luffy turn around with a curious expression about who it was.

However, his face instantly changed when he noticed who it was.

"Grandpa?!"

There, behind him, was Monkey D Garp.

"Hmm?"

Usually, he could have run away right away, knowing that the old man behind him probably didn't have any good intentions. However, just when he was about to run away even when he knew it was futile, Luffy felt something amiss and tilted his head as he looked at his Grandpa's expression.

"Grandpa...?"

For some reason, Garp's expression looked much more somber than usual.

...

-To be continued-

(A/N: Sorry for the wait guys, had some creative problems this week. Probably because of the stress that university is causing me...

-Sigh...-

Let's just hope this year ends quickly...)
