Chapter 4: Rabbits
"HAHAHAHA!!"
Looking at the Successful Flame Rune in front of me, I can't help but lough out loud
picking one of the cards it started to glow red lights and I feel my strength is leaving my body
*hmm.. the consumption is not that huge
I feel like I can draw 10 cards but I will be exhausted to even stand up, so let's just limit it to 7*
"let's test you out shall we?"
Going south, I started running in the wolf territory
a few minutes of walking I saw a perfect test subject for my first rune
staring at the 2 rabbits happily eating in the bushes and one of them cautiously looking at it's surroundings
it's around one meter tall, and those thick legs
tsk tsk tsk
and then I remember the rabbit I eat a few minutes ago
Maybe they are relatives?

I tried to pick another one but failed

Aiming at the two eating rabbits and throwing the Flame Rune as hard as I can
watching it fly in the air and
waiting for the right time to activate the rune
when it's in front of the two rabbit I didn't hesitate to activate the rune

looking at my two little rabbit I can't help but feel happy inside
but remembering a rabbit that had been killed by a hairless animal I cautiously observed my surroundings
looking at my rabbits I saw a red thing flying straight towards my little rabbits
feeling the danger I didn't hesitate to jump to protect them

all I feel is heat, the fire that's burning my fur
*am I going to die?*

my little rabbit didn't survive
rage, grief and sadness since I gained intelligence this is the first time I feel this feeling
Hearing a sound I looked at the source and I see "it" The hairless animal who killed the rabbit a few days ago
looking at "it" with eyes full of hatred I want to shred it to pieces
but I can't do anything
feeling the strength that's leaving my body
looking intently at it's feature's
until the darkness shallow my view

walking to the rabbit I can't help but feel pity inside of me

looking at the ashes of the two rabbits
I can't help but feel a loss
" if my control in the Flame Rune is better my gain will be much more tsk tsk tsk"

looking at the sky that starting to darken
I hurriedly go to my cave and getting some fruits and branches along the way
when I got to the cave I started contemplating how to improve my control
can I strengthen or weakened the Runes?
well since I'm still weak strengthening it is out of the question
so I can only Weaken it
testing my theory I picked up a rock the size of a fist I started to engrave rune in it
and the results
it crumble to dust

I fell in my thoughts

and starting to put my energy into the rock
little by little untill it started to crumble again
* calculating the consumption it's about half of the energy it consume compared to the Fire Rune in the Slot *

and the worst one I will become a skeleton
trying again this time I successfully make a rune in the rock

since my choices are few because I'm still an apprentice I need to think about this carefully

Speed Rune:
Can double your speed
Duration: 15 seconds
Defense Rune:
can make a dome of one meter around the host that can resist projectiles, magical and physical attack
Duration: 15 seconds
well I'll make a rune later but first
looking at the cook rabbit I started eating like a wild beast,
I noticed that food can replenish my energy
and my appetite is much bigger than before
* maybe because of my status? *
when I finished my meal , I started to prepare to make my second Rune
dividing the cards in 3 portions
I started to make the second Rune

Speed Rune Success!!
and the third
1 hour later
Defense Rune Success!!
satisfied with my work I tried the Speed Rune and I feel like my body is much lighter than before, I tried to walk around and noticed that my consumption of energy is the same but my speed is two times faster
after 15 seconds the Speed Rune disappear
next I tried to use the Defense Rune And notice the Wind it's started to spin around me faster and faster until it form a transparent spinning barrier around me
" well I'll visit the wolf pack and test my new Runes tomorrow, Bwahahaha "
thinking about those wolves I started laughing like a maniac again
noticing the time I started to prepare to sleep
looking at the beautiful night sky
I started to think about the events this past few weeks
