Chapter 20: Jaya
"Jaya? are we going to go there?."
Luffy was stealing a glance at them while eating something that Sanji must have prepared in a rush.
Nami's anger seemed to be rising up again.
"You are the Captain, shouldn't you be deciding that?"
Luffy nodded.
"Okay!!, turn towards Jaya at full speed!"
After turning the ship and starting the travel, Usopp realized something.
"Wait a minute, if we go to this new island, won't the log pose be overwritten while we are there?...in other words, we won't be able to get to Sky Island!"
Luffy's face became pale with horror.
"Whoooaa!!, stop stop!!. We can't go to Jaya then!"
"Okay, what do we do then?" Asked Nami.
"Maybe we can ask around for info." Suggested Usopp.
"Right, we can ask around in Jaya!" Said Chopper.
"Well then, well head for Jaya." Said Nami.
"Alright!, Jaya, full speed ahead!" Ordered Luffy with enthusiasm.
"Wait, you idiot! we are back to square one now!" Screamed Usopp.
"The record of the log pose will take some time. We just need to leave Jaya before it happens." Suggested Robin.
"It will depend on luck then." Said Nami.
"Not really, we just need to ask one of the locals. They will know how long it takes to complete the record." Said Vivi.
With that, the crew once again set a route to Jaya.

A few hours later they had the island in sight. It had a pleasant-looking city that almost looked like a resort.
As soon as they approached the docks, they realized that most of the ships in there had pirate flags.
The city on the west side of Jaya is a gathering place for dangerous people where there is no law. Here, people attack, sing, and laugh with each other. It's the city of mockery known as Mock Town.
"This looks like a fun city." Said their Captain after getting off the ship and Zoro who was at his side agreed.
Nami on the other hand looked very worried.
"There is no way those two will not cause trouble."
"Yeah, this city already looks dangerous enough as it is…" Said Usopp.
"If you are so worried, why not go with them?, well protect the ship." Suggested Vivi.
"Sigh.. fine." Nami jumped off the ship and rushed towards Luffy and Zoro.
"Don't you want to go too?, Usopp?" Vivi asked, already knowing what his answer will be.
Usopp started to sweat a bit.
"What?...I mean, no no. As you said, someone needs to stay here and protect the ship. With the great Usopp here, you have nothing to worry about!." He said with….some confidence.
They then saw Sanji getting off too.
"Sanji, where are you going?." Asked Chopper.
"I need to get some supplies. And I don't want to leave Nami alone with those two brutes." The cook answer.
"You can't go! what if the ship gets attacked!" Usopp seemed to have dropped the brave act and was now begging Sanji.
Chopper then joined him.
"I beg of you! don't go!!"
"Fine!, I'll stay, now calm down." Sanji finally relented.
"By the way, I haven't seen Robin. Did she leave too?." Asked Vivi
They all started to look around but she was indeed nowhere to be seen.
"She disappeared."

"It's been over an hour, how long are they going to take? I swear…if Nami gets hurt because of them…" Sanji was getting restless.
The port was very quiet and they could only hear the sounds of Usopp's hammer as he hit the wood of the ship.
"Ouch!...that hurts," Usopp yelled after accidentally hammering his finger.
"How many times I have had to tell them that I'm an inventor! not a carpenter…"
"But your crafting skills are amazing!!" Complimented Chopper.
"Don't worry Usopp. I'm sure we will get a carpenter soon enough." Said Vivi while looking at the town.
She was a bit worried about Luffy's encounter with Blackbeard. If for some reason they actually fought…
'No…that's not going to happen. I haven't done anything that could change that. They should be fine.' She reassured herself
Sanji must have noticed her expression and approached.
"I'm sure they'll be back soon enough. There is no need fo-"
"There!." Vivi interrupted him when she spotted the three of the approaching.
Usopp and Chopper also looked.
They all were surprised when they saw the state that Luffy and Zoro were in. They were both covered in blood with cuts and bruises everywhere. Nami looked very angry but uninjured.
"Luffy, Zoro!, What the hell happened!" Usopp said.
"Nami, are you injured?!" Sanji said with concern.
"Doctor!, we need a doctor!" Chopper said in a panic.
"You are the doctor!" Usopp screamed at the deer.
Vivi on the other hand breathed in relief.
'They are alive.'

After getting back onto the ship. Chopper got to work and started to treat their injuries.
"So, what kind of monster did you guys fight on that island?" Asked Usopp with curiosity.
"They were just some pirates, don't worry, it's all over." Said Luffy and Zoro agreed.
Nami was looking at Luffy with an angry expression.
"Even if you two want to let go of the past… I'm still upset. Why did you guys do nothing while we were being attacked!."
"You are the one that told us not to fight." Complained Zoro.
"That was the past, don't bring it up!!" She yelled.
"Why is the only one who didn't get hurt so emotional?" Wondered Usopp.
"So..did you guys discover anything about Sky Island?."
Chopper tried to change the conversation.
Nami's expression turned darker after that.
"Sky island…."
Chopper was taken aback by her reaction.
"I don't care about that anymore! The moment I mentioned it, everyone started laughing at us." Said Nami.
"Oh? it seems like you guys ran into some trouble." Robin appeared suddenly.
"Robin!, where did you go?" Sanji was the first one to ask.
"I went to buy some clothes. I also tried to find some clues about this Sky Island." She then gave Luffy a piece of paper.
"Oh, it's a treasure map!."
Usopp goes closer to take a look.
"Naa, that's just a normal map. Where is this place?."
"Is this island." Answered Robin.
The city is on the left side of the island. And on the other side,… you'll see a place marked with an X. I heard that a very special person lives there.
"What special person?" Asked Luffy.
"His name is Montblanc Cricket. He was exiled because He kept talking about strange dreams. He may know something important to us."
