Chapter 2: The Ope-Ope no Mi

(A/N So Mc's original personality of an adventure seeker and adrenaline junkie got fused with Law's more depressed and calculative one. So instead of a full-on Luffy reckless type, it'll be more of Roger/Shanks type personality.

There will be some AU element through my story so don't expect a perfect replica of the timeline.)

I somehow got transmigrated into Law in a pretty capricious situation. I was currently in a treasure chest. Just after Rosinante was shot dead by Doflamingo for his betrayal.

I could hear Doflamingo's crew running to the shore, believing I was the boy the marine had retrieved.

Law seemed to have been in the middle of a mental breakdown as my tears wouldn't stop falling. My emotion still ran rampant from the loss of Rosinante. I cared for Rosinante as if he was my own 'father figure', it seemed I completely fused with Law and some of his personality and feelings rubbed on me. All I could think of at the moment was ways I could get my revenge on Doflamingo.

But those plans will have to come later. Since at the moment, I didn't even know how to use my newly acquired devil fruit. Something I must rectify as soon as possible. After all, I was still dying due to my led illness.

The box suddenly came to halt as it was dropped on the floor. The crew was readying themselves to board their ship. Slightly peeking from the chest, I watched as all of the Doflamingo family members turned their backs to me. Quickly taking advantage of the situation, I climbed out of the treasure chest and started running away from them as fast as my feet could take me. While running I still couldn't control my wails of pain, as a heartwrenching sorrow took over me. I noticed nor my steps nor my voice made a sound. Meaning that Rosinante was still protecting me till his dying breath.

This knowledge not only made me love him more, but my hate for his brother only grew.

I kept running till I reached the shore of the island. Where the small dingy Rosinante used to travel was docked. I quickly boarded the small boat and set sail. Knowing that Minion island where I was currently situated was about to turn into a battleground for the marines led by Tsuru and the Donquixote family.

And as if on queue, sounds of cannons firing and shouts could be heard in the distance. At the same moment, my wails could finally be heard signifying Rosinante took his last breath. I sailed aimlessly letting the ship be guided by the current as I cried myself to sleep on the small deck.

(A/N I specified in the last chapter fused souls so two souls create a bigger soul and become one.)

I felt something poke my face, waking up I was met with a News Coo bird who kept waving a newspaper in my direction. I just shooed it away not really in the mood at the moment.

I first needed to figure out how my Devil Fruit worked to cure myself or I would simply die in a couple of weeks. Extending my hand in front of me I muttered "Room", like Law in the anime would. But nothing happened, '*sigh* I expected it wouldn't be so simple.'

Looking at my surroundings for the first time, I realized that the small vessel was stranded on an unfamiliar beach, a little further into the island I could see a forest. In the middle of the island was a giant bird-like mountain that resembled a Swallow. Guess I somehow ended up drifting to Swallow Island. If I remember correctly this is where Law finds Bepo the polar bear mink.

Standing up, I felt the cold familiar breeze of winter caress my face and started looking for something to wear. Looking around, I found one of Rosinante's black feathers cloak.

Clutching it in my hand, I felt my eyes sting but thankfully managed to stop myself from crying again. By instead channelling my sorrow into hate for Doflamingo.

I quickly packed Rosinante's cloak into a bag and wore a raggedy brown leather cloak instead. I added all the food left in the same bag and started making my way into the island.

While walking through the forest, I kept trying to open a 'room' with my Devil Fruit but failed every time. Not giving up since my life was literally on the line if I didn't find a solution I kept on trying. Till my 420th attempt, a small blue sphere extended from my hand and covered a meter wide radius with me at its center.

Now came the problematic part, I needed to locate the Amber lead in my body and extract it. I tried remembering what Law's biological father taught him about the subject.

Amber Lead, a highly profitable white mineral mined in Flevance. This mineral however is toxic and is barely noticeable in low concentrations. But the problem with it is that the future children of someone with Amber lead in his system would have the same concentration of Amber led in their body as their parents. Resulting in an accumulation over time to the point the child would die before reaching adulthood. And since there was no way to extract Amber lead out of someone's body, it was determined incurable.

So all I have to do with the Ope Ope no Mi is locate the Amber lead in my body and extract it. I concentrated on the white spots on my body and took out the small knife I always carried with me. Pointing the knife at the first white spot located on my forearm. I made a stabbing motion toward it and stopped right before piercing my skin. Through the whole motion, my intent was simple 'push Amber Lead out of the body '.

*BOP* was heard as a small white sphere of what I recognized as Amber Lead came out of my body. It was attached to me by a white string. I extended my knife toward the string and cut it. Resulting in said small amount of Amber Lead falling on the snowy ground.

With a delighted smile at finally finding a cure to my terminal illness, I repeated the process on any white spots on my body. Till not a single spec of Amber Lead was left.

With a satisfied, smile I started walking deeper into the forest in direction of the giant Swallow-shaped mountain in hope of finding some civilization.
