33 Chapter 30: Heist: One Piece Edition

[Four months later]

Man, time sure can fly even when you're basically doing nothing.

Ever since my crew and I ended our intensive one-month training period on that deserted island we've simply been leisurely sailing around the West Blue.

Nothing major has happened during this time.

We've fought some more marines, fought other pirates, and visited several islands. We've been enjoying the slow-life and I can't say I hate it. My crew has been enjoying this time as well.

But even though we are not doing anything intensive that does not mean we've stopped training. Since the grind never stops.

All of us are continuing to work hard to get stronger, and we've achieved excellent results.

Also I want to change what I said previously, some major events did happen in the past few months.

Namely that I finally unlocked armament haki.

Yeah, that's right. I can use armament haki now, and it's not just me. A few weeks after I managed to awaken to it Alfia also gained the ability to use armament haki.

Then shortly after that Law, Reiju, and Robin all showed signs of awakening their respective observation haki.

So our crew has basically been on a haki awakening binge.

The only ones who haven't awakened to either type of haki yet are Weisz and Bepo. Though given that they've both upped the intensity of their training to do so as to not be left behind by the rest of us I feel its only a matter of time before the two of them are officially haki users like the rest of us.

On that note no one on my crew has shown signs of the conqueror's haki at all.

But considering it's the rarest type of haki around and the conditions for awakening to it aren't as straightforward as observation or armament I am not surprised. However if all of us keep training and continuing as we are if any of us do possess the elusive third type of haki it will rear its head sooner rather than later.

Of that I am certain.

----------------------------------

A black baton in my right hand I walked in a circle around Weisz on the deck of the Black Pearl.

The latter wearing a blindfold secured tightly around his eyes.

Today I am helping him with his observation haki training.

I continued to walk in a circle around Weisz for several more minutes. Then eventually I stopped right behind him and swung the the black baton at his left side.

As the hit was about to connect Weisz managed to spin and avoid it.

Then just as he did so I threw a punch towards his face using my free hand.

But before it could connect Weisz jumped back and avoided my strike.

"Hey, what the hell Roberts? Why did you throw a punch at me just now?" Weisz asked.

"To see if you are truly grasping observation haki, and since you manage to sense I threw a punch at you instead of using the baton I can safely say you are." I replied to Weisz.

"Alright." Weisz cheered slightly. He then put a small smirk on his face as he removed the blindfold from around his eyes.

Then the moment he did so I swung the black baton at his blind spot.

But just like earlier Weisz managed to dodge the attack with no issues.

He then glared at me after he did so.

I shrugged my shoulders in response. "What? I am just making sure you are truly grasping observation haki and your earlier dodges weren't some lucky flukes."

"Yeah, sure." Weisz said. Giving me a flat look as he did so.

"Believe what you want." I said. "Anyway, I really mean it. Congratulations on grasping observation haki."

"Thanks." Weisz replied.

After he did so the two of us headed to the kitchen and met the others for lunch.

Once we all sat down and started eating we made small talk.

"So Roberts, do you have any plans for us yet?" Reiju asked.

Since we've been going with the 'no plan' plan now for the past four months.

"Actually I do." I said. When I did so everyone looked at me. "I think we've seen enough of West Blue. So it's time we head for the next sea on our list. South Blue. Any objections?"

No one said a word.

"Alright then. Let's prepare to head to South Blue." I said.

Everyone nodded at my words.

Once they did so we went to eating our lunch.

That is until Weisz asked me a question.

"Hey captain, I been wondering besides learning haki or eating a devil fruit is there anything else I can do to get stronger?"

"Oh, why do you ask Weisz?" I questioned.

"Ah it's a question that's been on a mind for a while now is all." Weisz replied.

"You planning to eat a devil fruit Weisz?" Reiju asked.

"Well maybe. If I can find one that fits me." Weisz said.

"I think that's a great idea." I said.

Which I mean. I've been thinking about it for a while now and I think for Weisz to truly bring out his potential eating a devil fruit would be good for him. Either a parmecia or a zoan, since I feel Weisz and a logia fruit wouldn't mix. But that's just my opinion. If Weisz finds a fruit that truly matches him in the future even if it is a logia then I won't stop him from eating it.

"You really think so?" Weisz asked me.

I nodded. "Yeah, I do. Also as to your original question there is another method you can use to get stronger. In fact this method can apply to all of us I've just had trouble acquiring it." I spoke.

When I did so the rest of the crew focused their attention on me.

"What method are you talking about?" Weisz asked me.

"It's a super secret, and I use the term loosely, martial arts employed by the marines and the World Government known as the Rokushiki." I explained. "These techniques don't require devil fruit powers or knowing haki to use them. They simply require those who want to learn them to have a physique capable of withstanding them. Which all of us are steadily progressing towards. Actually out of all of us Reiju could probably use most of the Rokushiki at the moment without any issues."

"Oh, that sounds awesome captain, please teach them to us?" Bepo asked. Stars in his eyes as he did so.

"Oh Bepo, like I said earlier it's not that simple." I told him. "While I have heard of the Rokushiki I have no idea how to accurately perform the techniques myself or train anyone else in their usage. For that we would need a Rokushki manual. Which is what I'm having trouble acquiring."

No matter how much I searched on the black market of the various islands we've visited over the past few months I couldn't get my hands on a Rokushiki manual.

Which is frustrating.

Especially since many of my crew can truly benefit from learning those techniques. Bepo, Reiju as I stated before, and especially Robin. It's like her devil fruit was made for learning the Rokushiki. If I acquire the manual and teach her the techniques I actually wonder just what sort of devil might be born from my actions.

Which is exactly the reason I want to acquire a manual and have everyone on the crew start learning Rokushiki as soon as possible.

The only question is how.

Sighing I leaned my head into Alfia's chest. "I want it. A Rokushiki manual." I complained. Pushing my head deeper into Alfia's chest as I did so.

"There, there." Alfia mused. Patting my head as she did so.

Ah, I can feel my spirits lifting already. Good love and affection will always do that for a man.

"Captain, if you want a Rokushiki manual so bad why not steal it?" Bepo asked me.

"Quiet Bepo, don't give the captain any crazy ideas!" Weisz shouted at him.

Which made Bepo depressed. "Ah, I'm sorry."

Too bad for Weisz he acted too late.

Putting a smile on my face I lifted my head off Alfias' chest. "That's a great idea Bepo."

The moment after I did so Bepo snapped out of his depression. "Really?"

"Yep." I replied. My grin getting bigger as I did so. "I don't know why I simply didn't think of this before. The solution to my problem is so simple. We'll simply steal a Rokushiki manual."

"But captain aren't the only owners of those manuals the world government and the Marines?" Robin asked me.

"Yes." I replied.

"So we're going to rob those guys." Law stated.

"Exactly." I replied.

It's time to plan a heist.

But this will be a One Piece edition.
