Chapter 14: Weisz Reckoning

(3rd Person: POV)

Exiting a local bar Weisz had a smile on his face.

He decided to use some of the cash he got from Farrell to celebrate.

Now that he had he was heading home.

Since there was something extremely important he had to attend to there.

Walking the streets of Wishing Well as the full moon hung in the night sky, Weisz did so without a care in the world.

That is until he felt a tap on his left shoulder.

Feeling this Weisz turned around to face the person who had tapped him. "Listen, I'm not interested in anything you might h-Agh!" He then let out a scream a moment later when he saw it was Alfia.

Who is looking at him with a smile on her face that isn't reaching her eyes one little bit.

"What the?! How are you still-"

"-Alive?" Alfia spoke. Finishing Weiszs' sentence. "Why it's quite simple. My crew and I simply killed all those disgusting bugs you led us to. Now then, it's your turn." She spoke.

The moment Weisz heard this he turned, attempting to run away.

But he didn't even get a few inches from Alfia. For when Weisz turned around he saw Roberts standing there. His blade drawn, and a strange smile on his face.

The same one Weisz saw him wearing earlier in the day at the warehouse.

Which told Weisz he should've listened to his own instincts. But he didn't, and now he's going to suffer the consequences of his actions.

"Hey there Weisz my friend." Roberts said. "You wouldn't be trying to leave now would you? After all, we have things to discuss. Many, many, things. But first let's start out with the obvious. Would you rather I cut you down now, or wait until you give us a bullshit excuse for your actions and then do it? The choice is yours."

"I...Am...I..."Weisz stammered. Doing his best to think of a way out of his current predicament as he did so.

"Oh, and just to be clear there is no escape for you. Try to run away and our other crewmates Bepo and Law will put you down without hesitation." Roberts spoke.

Almost as if he was reading Weisz mind.

Which he technically is, since Roberts is using observation haki on Weisz at this moment.

Hearing this Weisz knew Roberts wasn't bluffing, he was deadly serious.

Faced with this Weisz went with the only option he had left.

"Alright. I understand. But before you kill me I need you promise me something. I need you to deliver the money I obtained earlier to someone for me. Otherwise, they will die."

The truth.

Roberts facial expression remained exactly the same after Weisz's statement. But using his observation haki and seeing the serious and genuine look the blonde man put on his face, he knew he wasn't lying.

"Hah?!" Alifa spoke. She then snorted. "Tell me, is your brain so small that you do not understand your situation? We are the ones in control, not you. How dare you make demands of us! Roberts enough, let's just kill this guy, take the money, and move on."

"No!" Weisz shouted. Putting a determined look on his face after he did so. He then turned to face Alfia again. "You can kill me, torture me, etc. That's fine. I know I have no way out. But if you try and take my money from me then I'll do all I can to make sure I take one of you with me to the afterlife."

Hearing Weisz words Alifa got an angry expression on her face. "Why you!"

"Alfia, stop." Roberts said.

The moment he did so she backed down from Weisz. But Alfia still shot him an enraged expression. "You're lucky, for if Roberts hadn't saved you just now your pathetic life would've been over." She spat.

Weisz said nothing in response. He merely turned back around towards Roberts.

"So, this person you say will die if they don't get the money you made by selling us out, they are that important to you that you would threaten to kill the people who obviously have the upper hand against you?" Roberts asked.

Weisz nodded his head without any hesitation.

"That's right. I would die for this person without a second thought." He stated.

Roberts once again knew Weisz was telling the truth based on his facial expression and his use of observation haki.

'Interesting.' Roberts thought.

"Tell me, who is this person you are so willing to die for?" Roberts asked Weisz.

"None of your damn business." Weisz replied. "I just need you to deliver the money I made today to them. Please." He said, almost pleading as he did so.

Roberts got ready to reply to Weisz. But before he could.

"Hey, there he is over there! I found Weisz!"

An unfamiliar male voice spoke up behind Roberts.

"Shit!" Weisz shouted.

He then got ready to run. Only for Alfia to kick him squarely between his left using her own left leg before he could.

"Hii!!!"

Letting out a high-pitched scream Weisz clutched his pelvic region and fell onto the ground after doing so.

"You're not going anywhere." Alfia said.

"No, you don't understand. Those guys are bad news." Weisz said, doing his best to ignore the pain in his neither regions as he did so.

"So are we." Roberts spoke.

He then turned around and several armed men charging in his direction.

Raising his free hand Roberts stopped them in their tracks by absorbing their vitality.

He then moved forward and used his blade to finish them all.

Seeing all this Weisz was completely stunned. Even the pain he felt in his neither regions due to Alfia's kick wasn't able to distract him from what he just witnessed.

"Devil fruit." Weisz said.

Hearing this Roberts turned around and focused his gaze on Weisz. Alfia did the same thing.

"Oh, so you know about devil fruits do you?" Roberts asked Weisz.

"Dammit!" Weisz muttered.

Today was just not his day.

"Hey, don't pretend like you didn't hear Roberts. Spit out what you know, or else I'll make you." Alfia harshly said to Weisz. Raising her left leg slightly and aiming it towards his hands covering his netiher regions.

Seeing this Weiszs' entire body shuddered in fear.

"No, no, stop alright. I'll talk." Weisz quickly said. "But first we need to get off the streets. More guys will follow the ones you just killed."

"Oh, so they were not friends of yours trying to rescue you?" Roberts questioned.

"Friends. Hello no!" Weisz instantly replied. "Listen I will explain this to you all, but first we really need to get off the street. Please."

"Alright, alright." Roberts said.

He then moved over to Weisz and pulled him up to his feet. Roberts then raised his free hand and made a gesture.

A moment after he did so Bepo and Law came out of the place they were using to hide and observe the situation. Ready and waiting to jump in and support Alfia and Roberts at a moments notice.

Once the two joined the group they started moving.

Alfia sticking to Weisz like glue the entire time.

Eventually they found an abandoned building on he far side of town and entered it.

After they did so Roberts and the others surrounded Weisz.

"Alright then Weisz. Time for you to start explaining. And I want the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth." Roberts said.

Hearing this Weisz gave a simple nod in response.

Once again thinking tonight was really not his night.
