Planning a Certain One's Downfall

"Interesting Mr. Polagio, what secrets do you still have. Show me more." said Robin as she was spying on Polagio while he was saying his plans in a room inside of the building. 'I better report these to Alex so that he ould gather the evidence needed to put down this troublesome character.' thought Robin as she kept an eye on Polagio and went to Alex.

While Robin was busy spying on Polagio, Alex and Franco were walking around the slums to see how the people are living here since, in a kingdom like this, the slums are where the most action happens. As they were walking, they saw two big men who were beating up a man in the middle of the street. Alex looked at Franco with a face saying 'I told you so.' since Franco did not believe what Alex said about the slums is where the most action happens. They went closer to hear what the commotion is about.

"Oy! Are you not listening to me?! When are you going to pay the protection money? It has been two weeks already! Give us the money or else we will kill you!" said one of the men while kicking the man who looked like an old scientist because he still had his equipment in his hands when he was being kicked and beaten up by the two men.

"I'm sorry! It is just that business was not looking good for me and I have not gotten the money for you. But please give me another chance, I will get you the money soon." said the man but the men did not listen and continued to kick him because he told them he did not have the money.

Alex could not sit still and tried to step up but was stopped as he saw a blur run past him and towards the two men. Alex was surprised and stopped because he wanted to see what happens next. And he was surprised at what happened as he saw the woman, who was so nimble and flexible, hit both men in different areas of the body in a few seconds rendering them unconscious.

She first used one of the men's back of his neck then used her momentum to propel herself upwards and then did a flip to kick the other person in the face. Then she used her momentum to hit the first man in the solar plexus, then an uppercut to the man's chin, and then landed on both feet lightly like a feather being carried by the wind. After she landed, both men just fell flat on the floor unconscious.

The people did not see everything that happened because it was so fast. But Alex and Franco saw everything and were impressed with the girl who had a very interesting fighting style and was wondering where she learned how to fight like that.

"Captain, did you see what she did? Not many people could accurately do that and if they did they would have to learn about the human body very well so that they don't miss their hits. Well, granted there are many doctors on the island so they could easily learn that." said Franco as Alex agreed as he also wanted to learn since he wanted a close-range fighting style that did not include weapons like his swords.

'I would really love to learn that since it can be useful for me and maybe for our assassin unit so that they finish kidnapping jobs quickly and cleanly.' thought Alex as he can already see his Ragnarok Corps coming together. "Yeah, this girl's fighting style really suits her as she is both nimble and flexible. Maybe we could recruit her to be part of our fleet as an assassin with her and others working in the underworld to solidify our positions there." said Alex making Franco surprised at what his captain is saying.

'The captain really wants to control the underworld from the shadows. I have heard that Cierra would also leave the crew, for now, to establish her own chamber of commerce so that we would have a foothold in the underworld. As expected from our captain, he is really thinking way ahead of us.' Franco said in his mind as he looked at his captain in admiration.

While Franco was busy admiring Alex, Robin finally arrived to tell Alex what she found initially from spying on Polagio. Before leaving, Alex decided to take note of the girl because she might become useful in the future. After taking note of the girl, the three of them went to a bar to talk about it and think of a plan that would make Polagio fail and be branded as a traitor.

When they arrived at the bar, they went to a secluded area so that no one can eavesdrop on them. And when they were finally alone, after checking multiple times just to be sure, they started discussing what they can do.

"So what did you find out about this Polagio guy, Robin?" asked Alex as he wanted to know everything he could use against this guy. He wanted to get rid of him because he was an obstacle for him in getting the island as his territory.

"So, this Polagio guy has been with the king for almost twelve years as he helped the King make Drum Kingdom prosperous through his reforms and got the King's trust because of it. But I have recently found out that he is a World Government spy that was ordered to get rd of the current king so that his son could succeed him and Polagio could control the child's decisions. Which would essentially make him the ruler of Drum Kingdom and the island would be in the hands of the World Government." Robin shared the most important info she got first before moving into the minor ones like his real identity, age, etc.

"This guy is quite the actor. Fooling the king for twelve years is not easy unless he is a really good actor or the king already knows but lets him since he does not have the evidence to accuse him of it." said Franco as Alex agreed as he noticed that the King was trying to observe him a while ago in the throne room.

"The King would not be called a wise king if he was always being swayed by his advisors. I think he already knows but as Franco said, he is just letting it go since he does not have evidence. Well, I think it is King Rapol's lucky day since we have more than enough evidence to sentence this man to death and get rid of him forever." said Alex as the two agreed and continued to gather more evidence so that Polagio cannot escape his fate.

They had a very long and fruitful meeting that lasted throughout the night. They finished the next day but the man who was the main topic of the discussion was still happy that his plans would finally start. But he did not know that it would all backfire on him soon because of what Alex, Franco, and Robin are planning.
