Chapter 1

'Where am I? What am I doing here?' a young man in blue hair thought as he looked around. He was in a room which was different from what he was used to. The whole room was made of wood and with wooden barrels, table, chairs and oil lamps.

He tried moving, but the chains to his hands and legs restricted his movements and the huge bulky piece of iron around his neck made it difficult to move his head properly. Then suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his head and started seeing images of a life he never lived before.

After the whole thing was over, he was breathing heavily. He thought 'Did I really reincarnate after I got electrocuted by that stupid oven? Hahaha....who would have thought that reincarnation was real and the anime world actually exists. It's similar to all those fanfiction I read. I never thought I would be reincarnated in One Piece, but I don't know if I should be happy or sad.'

This is because the memories he saw were the memories of the owner of the body, Tanzo. Tanzo is a 20 year old marine living in the Marine headquarters with his mother and sister. His father died as a marine and he was someone Tanzo looked up to. His father trained Tanzo and with this training and his talent, he was someone who was close to becoming a captain.

One week from now, Tanzo was given a mission to capture Bunzio, the leader of an infamous human trafficking gang. He left the Marine headquarters with two battleships, but things didn't go as planned.

Two battleships were completely destroyed and almost all his soldiers were floating on the sea as dead bodies. Tanzo was badly wounded and Bunzio captured him along with the soldiers with him. That is how he ended up in that room, which is on Bunzio's ship.

The earthling just died and was reincarnated, just to live as a human trafficker's captive. 'I was an orphan, living a meaningless life. I got another chance to live, with a family. I will not let this chance go to waste. I have to get out of here somehow.' Tanzo thought when his thoughts were interrupted by the sudden light that fell on his eyes when the door opened.

He closed his eyes and slowly opened his eyes to adjust to the light. He then heard a voice say "I am amazed you are still alive even when you didn't drink or eat anything for the whole week. I like it. It would be boring if you just died of starvation. Since you managed to cling to your life till now, I will let you live. You are now sold goods. You are lucky that they bought you before you died." throwing a plate with food, towards me. It had rice and a fish.

I then looked at the man that was talking. He is a man in his 30s, with a beard and a missing eye. His name is Rencer, Bunzio's right-hand man. Then, a man with a fit body, shirtless and a pirate hat, walks into the room.

He bends down, looks at me and says "I can tell that you don't understand what's going on now. Don't worry, I will explain what is going on, because I love the look on people's faces when they realise that their life is fucked and there is no way out.

The collar around your neck is a bomb that is used on slaves. The moment you run away from here, it will explode. You can fight with us and get the key to the collar, but I don't think you can take us down in your condition. We will feed you enough to keep you alive, which is once a week.

Also, you are being sold as a slave to a pirate crew. You might be thinking 'who would buy a marine?' but marine slaves have a huge demand, especially the ones from the Marine HQ. You guys know all about the Navy and pirates would love to get their hands on that information.

Also, don't think about escaping from the pirate crew. I am famous for dealing with marine slaves, but there is a problem with marine slaves. If they are very sincere, they will sacrifice themselves to get the pirates captured. Even then, I am still able to sell slaves only because I strip them of their marine status."

Tanzo was confused. Seeing his confused look, Bunzio said "I hired a devil fruit user who is capable of transforming into any person he touches. With his help, I made him impersonate you. The devil fruit user sold the other marines with your face and we let a single person escape so that he would report this back to the base. Now, you are a deserter and a traitor in the eyes of the Navy. There is nowhere you can escape to. No home to return to. No comrade that believes in you."

'Why would you go so far and plan all this?' Tanzo thought. As if he heard his thoughts Bunzio said "I know what you are thinking. You must be wondering why I am doing all this and why I am going to such great lengths. To be honest, you are the only one on whom I spent this much money. Usually, I would just make the Marines leak all the info they know and attack someone close to them, to make them believe that the Marine had betrayed them, but you are special. Do you know why?"

I remember dad talking about Bunzio. So, I said "Yes, because you used to work under my father." and Bunzio shouted "Exactly. That fucker betrayed me and made me into the person I am now. So, when you die, tell him that you suffered your whole life because he hesitated to kill me when he had the chance."

Bunzio then left along with his men and Tanzo was thinking about the story his father told him before he went on his last mission.

*Flashback 3 years ago*

Tanzo's father was being sent to investigate the incident of missing ships near an island which is close to the Marine headquarters. He could sense that this mission would lead to his death. So, he called Tanzo to his room.

When Tanzo arrived, he asked him to sit in front of him and said "Tanzo, what I am about to tell you might destroy the very image of your father in your head, but I don't want you to find this out from someone else."

Tanzo had a serious expression on his face as he listened to his father. His father said "This happened two years ago, when I was the captain of a base near the calm belt. One day, we received a report from an island near the base, about two criminals who killed 20 people. At that time, I sent Bunzio, who was my lieutenant, to deal with those two criminals.

He went alone and killed both the criminals, but we found out later that they were wandering doctors who were trying to cure a disease that was spreading on the island. The disease was actually spread by the native doctors of the island to earn money. When the citizens of the town found out about this, they accused the Navy of working with the doctors that spread the disease.

To keep the faith of the public, the Navy instructed me to put the whole blame on Bunzio and capture him. I did as I was told, but I couldn't capture Bunzio. I hesitated when he was in front of me. Now, he has become a human trafficker. I created a criminal when I should have stood by his side and supported him. I let him go to ease my guilt for blaming him. I am a terrible human and marine." Tanzo's father burst into tears after that.

*Present time*

Tanzo looked at the food in front of him and dug in without worrying about poison because he understood that Bunzio wants him alive now. After eating, Tanzo started thinking about how to escape from here. He obviously wasn't going to be a slave to pirates. He would rather be a criminal than a slave.

'I first need to know what is happening outside, where are we and what is Luffy doing now.' Tanzo thought and tried to get up, but his body felt too heavy and his legs felt wobbly. He was too weak. It took all his strength to just walk. Hearing the chains move, Rencer opened the door and said "Wow, you are already able to move after all the fighting and with so little food. Good, we are going on a scavenger hunt on an island in the New World. Wear this and get ready. You have to carry all the goods while we search the island."

Rencer then threw him a gas mask and a yellow body suit. 'They really don't want me to die. I guess Bunzio wants to see me suffer more than watch me die. Well, that's a good thing for me.' Tanzo thought and bent down to pick up the suit, only to fall down on the floor without any energy.

Rencer laughed at my pathetic state and left to do some other work after locking the room. I was starving for another two days while they made me do all the chores like cleaning the deck and washing clothes. After two days, it looks like they reached the destination and I can already guess where we are from the gas suit they gave me.

I was brought out of the room and Bunzio then said to his crew "Listen up, this island is a secret base of the government where Dr. Vegapunk used to work before some incident which caused the whole island to be covered with poisonous gas. We are looking for anything the mad scientist has invented. Even his research papers will sell for millions of beri."

They all shouted, cheering for their leader when they heard that they could be rich. All of them wore the suits with full excitement and Bunzio then walked up to me. he looked at my weak state and said "This is way better than your dead body. I want you to live the most pathetic life there is and suffer everyday. The sight of your weak body struggling to even move is giving me more pleasure than any other thing in the world."

I glared at him and it seemed to only make him more happy. "Yes....yes.....the rage to kill me.....the frustration of not being able to do anything to your enemy when he is right in front of you...I never knew the pleasure from this can be this good. It is way better than having sex."

Bunzio went to his room to put on his mask, as he was already wearing his body suit. The ship sailed towards the island and they could already see the purple smoke covering the whole island. 'I wonder how Akainu and Aokiji fought here.' Tanzo thought when he looked at the island.

Bunzio had all the information about the island, as he had the map of the whole island with the route to the port of the island, which is near the laboratory. As the ship entered the island and sailed through the river dividing the island in half, the purple smoke kept getting thicker.

Finally, the ship arrived at the port and Bunzio shouted "These masks can only purify the poison for 10 minutes. Find anything you can in this time and return to the ship". When they heard that, his whole crew immediately jumped from the sea and ran towards the laboratory.

Bunzio then said "Remember Tanzo, keep up with us and collect all the things we find. We will whistle, indicating that we found something. You should be there at that time. If you are not there in 30 seconds, we will kill you."

'Nice, this sadistic fuck just wants to see me run around when I am struggling to walk.' Tanzo thought and glared at Bunzio.
