New World, World Conscription!
"Hey, the four little devils over there, what are you looking at? Come and sign up!"
A Marine captain barked at the four young men who had just landed at the port.
The World Conscription had attracted countless powerful and famous individuals, and the captain had no patience for what appeared to be just another group of unremarkable recruits.
In his eyes, these four young men were probably here just to enlist as ordinary seamen. He saw no reason to treat them with any particular courtesy.
After all, they weren't the mysterious blind powerhouse that rumors described as exceptionally strong—the one that even the current Navy Inspector General, Sengoku the Buddha, personally greeted.
"Yeah hahaha, what an arrogant guy!" one of the young men wrapped in a white turban sneered at the Marine captain, clearly displeased.
It seemed like he might attack at any moment.
"Enel, calm down. We're here to apply, not to fight!" a tall man with a straight posture and a sword at his side said calmly.
Enel hesitated, then backed down, his aggression momentarily subdued.
The other two "men" with them snickered, trying to stifle their laughter.
Upon seeing the sharp look from Shiro, they immediately went silent.
Oops, they remembered—they were supposed to be pretending to be men!
These four young men, who arrived at Island in a small wooden boat, were none other than Shiro and his party. Alongside him were Enel, Boa Hancock, and Nico Robin.
Their group was assembled under careful consideration by Shiro. Supporting them from behind were Zephyr, Momousagi, and Aokiji.
With this lineup, bolstered by the Amazon Lily's fierce warriors and the nearly 100,000 elite troops from the Marine.
Even in Shiro and the Pirate Empress's absence, Shiro's force, with its formidable strength, was a force that the World Government and the Navy Headquarters could not afford to underestimate.
Of course, their strength would become evident soon enough—likely after the failure of the World Conscription.
Shiro and his party used advanced disguises to appear as four ordinary young men around sixteen years old, making their task much easier.
While Boa and Robin felt odd in disguise, the transformation's effectiveness left them both in awe.
Despite the disguise, they still retained their essential traits, ensuring that neither would be distracted in their future tasks.
Moreover, during the disguise, Shiro and his party temporarily gained additional Devil Fruit abilities that significantly boosted their combat potential. Shiro himself acquired a Paramecia-type ability that would be especially useful in their upcoming challenges.
His objective was to disrupt the World Conscription—not just participate in it.
"Hey, you four, hurry up and sign up!" the Marine captain urged impatiently, growing annoyed at their hesitance.
Shiro and his group followed the captain to the registration area.
Following the War and the defection of certain high-ranking officers, the Navy suffered significant losses. The World Conscription was an effort to replenish its ranks, recruiting everyone from ordinary sailors to Vice Admirals.
In addition to the general recruitment, the main event was the selection of two new Admirals, the two strongest recruits being directly promoted to Admiral.
Thus, anyone with sufficient strength could compete for any position, from ordinary Marine to Admiral.
However, it was clear that the competition would be fierce, with most applicants targeting mid-level ranks like warrant officer, and only a few daring to aim for Admiral.
Shiro and his group were led to the registration area for regular Marine officers.
"Name!" the sweating second lieutenant in charge of registration asked without looking up.
Silence.
The second lieutenant asked again, growing irritated. "Name!"
Still no response.
He finally looked up, only to be met by the cold, piercing stares of Shiro and his crew, eyes as deep as the abyss.
"Hey, you four brats! Lieutenant Selang asked for your names. Are you all mute?" the Marine captain snapped, irritated.
"I'm sorry, but we're not here to register as ordinary sailors," Shiro said icily.
"What? You think you can be warrant officers? Look at you—young and inexperienced. What makes you think you have the strength?" the captain mocked, only to be silenced by Shiro's chilling gaze, which sent shivers down his spine.
Though Shiro restrained his Conqueror's Haki, his mere presence was enough to intimidate the weaker Marines.
"Take them to the officer registration area," Lieutenant Selang instructed, recognizing that Shiro and his crew were not to be underestimated.
However, Shiro's group remained indifferent.
"Take us to the Admiral registration," Shiro demanded, his voice drawing the attention of everyone nearby.
All eyes turned to them—the real highlight of this World Conscription was indeed the recruitment of new Admirals.
"Yo~ what's happening here?" Admiral Kizaru, wearing his Justice cloak and strolling casually, approached with a playful tone.
Admiral Kizaru had been given the task of overseeing the recruitment, and though the job felt tedious, it was a necessary duty.
"Admiral Borsalino, you arrived just in time. These four young men wish to sign up for Admiral!" the Marine captain said, relief washing over him.
