A sense of awe and fear coursed through every ninja on the Hokage building's roof.
Their expressions grew increasingly complex as they considered the implications of what they had witnessed.
Their gazes were riddled with complexity as they fixed their eyes upon Carnes.
This was the result of a Bloodline Limit, a power passed down through generations.
This could only be passed down through genes.
It was now clear why Carnes had remained on the sidelines until the very end, why he possessed such powerful jutsu, yet had failed to defeat Pain, and why he had declared that he wouldn't make another attempt.
Now, it all made sense to them.
This revelation was nothing short of remarkable.
In moments of accidental insight, the human mind's ability to make connections and fill in gaps was truly remarkable.
In that instant, almost every ninja present underwent a transformation of sorts, becoming storytellers in their own right.
In just a matter of seconds, they collectively crafted an intricate story filled with dramatic twists and turns.
It's a tale as old as time. An ignorant and rebellious son, a father's struggle to mend the mistakes of his child. Then the father and son turn against each other.
This was a story where the old father whips his son's ass everywhere in order to make up for the mistakes made by his son, the story where the old father is helpless and is unable to kill his son.
An old man desperately seeking retribution for his son's actions, and an old father who was weighed down by guilt towards Konoha Village, ultimately choosing to stop his son's destructive path.
Everyone's imaginations ran wild, weaving a web of intricate plots. Their creativity knew no bounds.
"Lord Carnes possesses such immense power, yet he remains so humble. He must have endured countless trials."
"We never knew he carried such burdens. What an extraordinary man he is," remarked one ninja.
"Yeah, it was really not easy for Lord Carnes..." said another ninja.
"This situation is truly heart-wrenching," another chimed in.
"Whatever decision Lord Carnes makes, I'll support him. Please, let's stand by him," a third ninja declared.
"Incredible! Lord Carnes carries an immense burden, yet still retains a kind heart. He's a remarkable individual."
"Yes, how can you not admire Lord Carnes? Despite his tremendous power, he remains compassionate. What an amazing person he is," mused yet another.
The ninjas of Konoha Village were suddenly filled with deep emotions.
In a mere ten seconds, Carnes, once shrouded in mystery, transformed into a fully fleshed-out character in their minds. He was now entangled in countless intricate plotlines.
Carnes was taken aback; he'd never encountered such a reaction before.
It was the first time anything like this has happened.
Had these individuals truly created such stories in their head?
And why were they all bowing their heads in unison!?
At that moment, in the midst of his bewilderment, Tsunade approached, lightly patting him on the shoulder.
"Don't worry, I can understand you," she said reassuringly.
"We're not like those stagnant, old villages," Tsunade continued.
"Pain's actions don't define you," she assured him, her voice unwavering.
"Whatever Pain does," she continued.
"You will always be our most respected guest in Konoha," she declared.
Tsunade's words resonated with the other ninjas, who quickly echoed their agreement.
"Yes, Lord Carnes, you're always welcome here!"
"This isn't your fault!"
In truth, if the situation ended here, Carnes would be content.
But Naruto, the straight-shooting man, who was always candid, couldn't hold back himself. As he approached Carnes.
"Carnes-san! Is Pain really your son? What a shame that such an incredible jutsu was passed down to someone like him..."
As soon as Naruto voiced his thoughts, the ninjas on the scene immediately started casting blame, creating an atmosphere charged with tension and disbelief.
It was abundantly clear that tensions were running high. Accusations were flung with the ferocity of a hurricane.
"You seriously think you can say that to his face?" one of them challenged, his voice dripping with anger. His voice echoed the thoughts of many.
"How in the world does Lord Carnes intend to handle this situation?" another muttered, casting a worried glance toward their leader.
Carnes, standing before Naruto and Tsunade, found himself struggling to maintain his composure.
The eyes of Konoha's ninjas on the rooftop bore down on him, and the weight of the circumstances threatened to overwhelm him.
Carnes almost collapsed because of his everlasting energy being raised to such degrees.
This ability which usually kept him steady, now felt like they were slipping through his fingers.
He wished more than anything to use his Six Paths Sage Mode, and bring forth his mighty power, to execute five, no ten Almighty to push all these people away and put an end to this numbing chaos once and for all.
The intensity of the moment was numbing, and the urge to obliterate everyone around directly welled up within him.
Nagato's Rinnegan had been transplanted by Uchiha Madara, while Carnes had received his own Rinnegan from the system.
Although this seemed like a bloodline limit, the two of them had no relation, there was no actual familial connection between them.
That was something Carnes wished to explain.
The only relationship they had was that of a captain and a crew member.
And that was also with the future Nagato.
The current Nagato doesn't even know who he is!
"Damn these stupid ninjas," Carnes muttered under his breath.
'This isn't some melodramatic story. Are you trying to outsmart Demiurge with your convoluted plots?'
But Carnes couldn't address the issue of Nagato's Rinnegan directly.
When it came to Uchiha Madara, there were too many layers of complexities to unravel, and the Rinnegan's origin itself was difficult to explain.
He was at a loss of words, unable to provide a satisfactory answer.
Even if he were willing to explain about the system, and how it had given him Rinnegan, he knew these people would never understand the nature of such a system.
It would likely fall on deaf ears, as these individuals lacked the comprehension of such a concept.
Worse still, Carnes feared that his words might be perceived as mere excuses, concocted to deflect any responsibility towards Pain.
This would only serve to intensify the already volatile situation.
And will do nothing but add even more nonsense to this absurd situation.
