Kakashi wasted no time in making his own analysis.
"Although his speed falls short of Carnes, he's astonishingly fast. Those razor-sharp claws and menacing wings are truly terrifying...
They would send shivers down anyone's spine."
"Even the teacher and Lord Third Hokage might struggle against such a formidable adversary.
Dealing with such an imposing presence would really be a daunting task..."
"But what strikes me the most is that someone that has such terrifying powers would willingly submit to that enigmatic man and even revere him."
"Jiraiya-sama, what kind of monster is your friend?"
"I hope you'll let him continue his work. It could greatly benefit Konoha."
In this moment, Kakashi grappled with a plethora of emotions, they were a tumultuous mix.
On one hand, he was immensely grateful to Carnes for intervening, thus saving both himself and Chōji, and ultimately defeating the powerful Deva Path.
However, on the flip side... He couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.
Carnes' power had completely shattered his preconceptions.
If someone of his caliber decided to turn against Konoha or harbor any ill intentions towards Konoha.
Kakashi knew that their village would be utterly powerless to halt his advance!
....
Deva Path knelt before them, visibly shaken.
Demiurge extended his hand, grabbing the Deva Path by the neck.
For a fool, who had dared to challenge their captain's authority, it was important that he be apprehended personally, and subjected to the captain's judgment.
'I've always known I am the captain's most powerful and loyal subordinate.
'I don't make mistakes. I'm not "just like the rest of them." I'm stronger. I'm smarter. I'm better. I'm simply better. I am unmatched.'
'Will the captain praise my efforts?'
"Now, no one can question my standing!"
A subtle grin played on Demiurge's lips as he reveled in his thoughts.
When one swells with pride, the essence of their being may slip through their grasp, forgotten in the intoxication of their own accomplishments.
Yet, in his moment of hubris, he had overlooked a crucial detail.
As Demiurge's hand reached out, aiming to choke Deva Path, an eerie calmness washed over Deva Path's face, and with a chilling, resolute tone, he intoned,
"Almighty Push!"
A breathtaking force erupted, a violent repulsion that struck Demiurge with unrestrained might.
Demiurge, bearing the brunt of the attack, was sent hurtling through the air. But, in a testament to his power, he managed to maintain his composure.
Despite being flung violently, he shielded his body, his hands remained steadfast before him, sparing him from grievous harm.
Clenching his teeth in frustration, he couldn't help but lament,
"You've just tarnished my reputation before the captain! Unforgivable!"
"Simply Unforgivable!"
Though anger coursed through Demiurge's veins, his mind remained remarkably composed, swiftly thinking of multiple schemes to apprehend the Deva Path.
With a sharp clatter, Demiurge triggered his second form, undergoing a startling transformation that was truly bizarre.
His once-human face morphed into that of a frog, while his wings expanded into a more menacing form. Every facet of his being exhibited an astonishing upgrade.
It was as if his overall abilities received a substantial boost.
Chaos erupted at the scene, smoke and debris scattering like autumn leaves in the wind.
The dust and smoke were promptly swept away by the ferocity of the confrontation.
However, amid the shattered ruins, the figure of Deva Path had vanished without a trace, leaving nothing but the remnants of a retreat.
Unbeknownst to all, Deva Path had silently slipped away, even taking with his severed arm as a grim reminder of this fight.
Kakashi couldn't help but notice the imposing figure of the winged man who was before him.
His thoughts raced, 'Is this guy even stronger than Pain? Could it be that Pain was frightened and retreated in fear?'
