At this point, they would hardly be any bone in his body that is not broken by those punches.

But Dan didn't stop. He doesn't want to take any more chances with a devil fruit user, so this beatdown continues for a few more seconds as he puts more and more strength into his punches before canceling his quirk due to almost depletion of his stamina.

Still, the damage was already done, as there was no way Ray could even move a finger without months of medical attention.

After giving Ray the beating of a lifetime, Dan returns to his previous seat with a fatigued look.

'He was somehow able to find me, either by luck or some skill. He was able to find me despite the measures I had taken.'

'And most importantly, I don't know if others can also find this place like him,' Dan thought, and while these thoughts seemed farfetched, Dan didn't want to take a chance at getting ambushed thrice in a single night.

'Yeah, I'm not taking any chances with it. I will just leave this island right now, and it is not like staying here for a night is worth the hassle.'

So, with a firm decision, Dan, despite being dead tired, begins to prepare the ship for sailing, which is not a lot as most of the work is already done.

The ship slowly left the island's confines in the next few minutes.

"Now, what should I do with you?" Dan muttered while looking at the half-dead form of his assassin.

The whole thing was weird, as by all means, he should be dead, not half-dead, with his injuries, but here he was, still alive, even though one of his legs was cut off, and then he was almost beaten to death by him.

He was still alive, and most importantly, he was recovering. Not the whole leg thing, but the little injuries like shallow cuts and scratches were already healed.

Even without medical attention, he would survive this whole ordeal which says something about his healing factor.

'Maybe his devil fruit is not a common one,' Dan thought. However, the idea of an ancient or mythical Zoan user working under someone in east blue is a bit ridiculous.

'But still, what should I do with him?'

Within the captain's quarter of the ship, Dan was going through a small pile of papers while the map of the east blue was spread on the table.

"No, that will not work," Dan muttered while scrapping another idea.

It's been two days since he left that island, and Dan has been trying to decide his next destination after sorting all things on the ship, including his prisoner.

But he just can't decide which island would be most suitable for his plan, maybe some island where he can easily find some weak pirates.

But that thing is difficult with all the information he has in his hands.

'Maybe I should go after the Arlong pirates since I know they only stay on Conomi Island,' Dan thought before discarding it immediately.

There are numerous reasons why the situation could end in disaster for him if he is not careful.

'No, I cannot go after them now, not with my current strength.' Dan thought as he didn't know how strong the Arlong pirates were.

Even after defeating them, he had to deal with that mouse captain in a way that wouldn't result in losing his bounty hunter license before he could even gain it.

Yeah, one needs a bounty hunter license to cash in the bounty with Marines. It would only be possible to cash in the bounty on the black market while paying them a portion of it.

But Dan doesn't want that, so he can't make a move against them even if he is confident of taking them out.

"This whole thing is a mess," Dan said in a frustrated tone before exiting the room and moving toward the deck.

One could see a person hanging upside down on the deck while his hands and legs were bound with ropes.

It has already been two days since Dan hanged him on the deck. He had been given minimal food and water to soften him so he could answer a few of his questions. During that time, he was also able to download his skills, which is also the real reason he left him alive.

But now he has already downloaded all his skills, so he is not that important to him even if he didn't answer.

Dan reached near him and asked in an annoyed voice, "So, did you change your mind?"

He clearly didn't like how Ray was handling all this like it didn't matter and had no effect on him.

"Still not responding? You really think I will not kill you?"

But despite the threats, Ray looks back at Dan with an impassive look on his face.

Following a strong punch, he was almost bent like a folding chair.

"Gaag!"

And then it was followed by a jaw-breaking punch that actually broke his jaw.

Roughly grabbing his hair to turn his head toward himself, Dan said in his coldest voice, "Listen here, you piece of shit. I had about enough of you and your attitude. The only reason you were alive until now was that you were helpful in one of my projects, but now it is complete, so I will kill you without any hesitation if you don't answer my questions."

"So, will you tell me..."

Dan started but was cut short as Ray muttered, "F...uck you!" still with an impassive look on his face.

Suddenly Dan used his super speed quirk and moved at an impossible speed for him to see and threw him into the open sea without any warning.

Splash

Ray didn't even have time to think about anything as the scenery in front of his eyes changed, and he started to sink into the sea like a rock.

After a few seconds, Dan yanked the rope in his hand, and Ray, who was continuously sinking toward the bottom of the sea, was pulled out of the water by that rope.

"Your answer is still the same?" Dan asked while looking at the soaked form of Ray.

But despite being an inch away from death by drowning, Ray didn't look that shaken by it, as he replied with an apathetic look on his face.

"Fu...uck y..." Before he could even complete his words, Dan grabbed and hanged him above the sea, but this time without the rope around his leg.

"Then you can spend the rest of your time alive in the sea," before throwing him again into the ocean.

Dan clearly meant his words, as he had almost no use for him

But before he could fall into the sea, an arrow stuck him to the ship's side, saving him from the fall.

"Okay, now what happened?" Dan asked in a frustrated tone before looking in the direction from which the arrow came.

A ship hardly smaller than his own, a few kilometers away, was sailing steadily toward him. He could see a few people standing on its deck.

Suddenly Dan tilts his body as a green arrow passes by. There is no doubt that they are hostile to him.

"Not only are they saving this fucker, but they are also attacking me."

"What the fuck is wrong with them?"
