Chapter 163: The Truth Of The World II

...........

"Oh?" Yovan let out a smile, "War, a war like never before, a war with only two parties... I Against the World."

"What!?" Yovan's words instantly woke up the half-asleep King, seeming startled as he questioned aloud.

"Where is the Sea God?" Yovan ignored his exclamation and asked with interest, basically asking two questions in the form of one question. The existence of the Sea God was something even he was unsure about.

The King of giants remained silent for a long while, his mouth opening and closing, seemingly speechless.

However, he understood that they were exchanging information and that Yovan will likely not solve his doubts until he asks his question.

"The Sea God..." Ymir murmured absent-mindedly, seeming hesitant before letting out a sigh. If Yovan didn't say such a ridiculous thing, he would've certainly not answered such a question.

Alas, Yovan's words were the truth, a bait he didn't mind throwing for the fish to get hooked. Ymir was hooked as he answered, "Sealed beneath the Sea."

His answer, however, was vague, "Why do you desire to go against the World?" Ymir asked.

"To evolve." Yovan's answer was also vague, seemingly adhering to the law of equivalent exchange, "How is it possible for the Sea God to be sealed if he's the origin of all Devil Fruits?"

Again, he asked two questions in the form of one question, making Ymir's face twitch. He seemed to be confirming his theories more than anything else.

"Poseidon... And Uranus." Ymir responded, and Yovan could swear he detected fleeting sadness in his eyes as he uttered the specific word, Uranus.

"The Ancient weapons?" Yovan stroked his chin with a thoughtful expression.

The Ancient Weapons are three weapons capable of mass destruction, each taking a different form.

They are known as Pluton, Poseidon, and Uranus, each named after a deity for their godly powers. The weapons are not limited only to inanimate objects but consist of living beings as well.

Poseidon, he knows. She's well hidden by the Pantheon. In fact, there is even a Goddess in the Pantheon named Poseidon, acting as a cover for the real Poseidon.

Pluton, he also knows. He had acquired the blueprints long ago, and under the Pantheon's resources, it was mostly turned into reality, mostly being the keyword there.

The ancient weapon needs some kind of special energy as fuel, something that can run the monstrosity that it is, and with the cooperation of Vegapunk, they weren't far from making it, especially after their expedition to the moon.

Indeed, one of the Pantheon's most important projects is their expeditions to the moon to uncover the remains of an ancient civilization that lived there.

The ancient civilization was very advanced. However, according to the Pantheon's investigation, they moved to One Piece planet as their resources were running dry.

And it was only a few hundred years ago that they came here, way after the Void Century, but their technological advancement was nothing to scoff at.

"Are you seeking to destroy or rule the World?" It was Ymir's turn to ask questions.

"Neither," Yovan shook his head with a smile, "I only seek to evolve. As for what happens after, it's up to the future generations to determine."

Ymir narrowed his eyes, realizing that Yovan's questions came to an end, thus why his answer wasn't so vague, "I hope you speak the truth, otherwise, I will stop you when the time comes."

"Hm?" Yovan raised a brow, an interesting smile taking over his face as he said, "I hope you will."

Every word spoken by Yovan was kept in heart by Ymir. There is, after all, almost no one can make him sense such danger without exhibiting any force whatsoever.

"Loki!!!!!" Ymir's voice seemingly thundered across the entirety of Elbaf, shaking not only its structures but also the ground, and I dare to say, even the grand Treasure Tree Adam.

"Yes, father," As if he has been there all this time, a voice resounded in the hall as Prince Loki appeared, kneeling before the King.

"Lead the guest to the Grand Library," Ymir instructed before closing his eye, although he still left behind a warning, "Don't ask any questions, and do not make any trouble."

"Understood, father," Prince Loki responded gently, without a hint of dissatisfaction. He was a bit chubby, adorned in silky royal clothes as well as a crown, "Please follow me."

Yovan nodded, and followed after him, exiting through the empty palace's gate. Speaking of which, even Yovan wasn't sure how Loki appeared in the hall.

It was like teleportation but not at the same time, as if he had materialized himself there, and Ymir didn't seem surprised though the latter's warning told Yovan a lot about Loki.

'Is his character like that of the Norse Mythology's Loki?' Yovan wondered as he glanced at the calm giant. He wasn't as gigantic as his father, but he was certainly a giant.

He led the way while nodding at the guards from time to time, the guards always addressing him respectfully as Prince Loki, and not one giant seemed to be dissatisfied with him in any way.

Prince Loki was well respected, something that Yovan found odd considering Ymir's warning to Loki, talking to him as if he was a troublemaker.

Still, Yovan said nothing, not until Prince Loki led him to the grand Library, going through a gigantic long bridge, leading to the Treasure Tree Adam, specifically, an opening in its trunk.

'The Tree is dying?' Yovan narrowed his eyes as he observed the peculiarity of the tree. It seemed extremely dry, maybe due to the root all over it, and as Yovan looked up, he couldn't see the end of the tree.

He wanted to confirm the state of the tree by observing its state from the top, but it wasn't time yet.

"We're here," Prince Loki said, a gentle smile on his face, "Rarely does anyone visit the grand library, so take as much time as you want."

"Thank you," Yovan nodded before seeing his way in, still feeling Loki's gaze on him, something he ignored as he looked around.

The grand library was certainly grand, fitting for giants. Although there weren't only giant books around. In fact, there were a lot of human books, and those are his goal.

More than 20 years ago, a certain incident took place, an incident named the Ohara Incident in which the World Government ordered a Buster Call on Ohara after they discovered that scholars from the island were illegally researching Poneglyphs.

That resulted in the destruction of the Tree of Knowledge and the deaths of almost every citizen of Ohara, with the only survivors being Nico Robin and... A giant named Jaguar D. Saul.

Yovan learned something interesting a while ago, Jaguar D. Saul had survived the ordeal, and led a team of giants from Elbaf to retrieve what knowledge survived. After all the books were acquired, they were taken to Elbaf for safekeeping.

"Scatter," Yovan murmured as his wings flared, but he didn't scatter, his wings did, dispersing into hundreds of crows that spread out throughout the library, each getting themselves a book of their own.

The Everless crows started... They started reading through all the books in the library at the same time, turning the pages either with their wings or with feathers.

And everything they see, Yovan could see, all at the same time, and his long evolved brain could process it well.

This isn't something new. No, it was something Yovan never stopped doing since he could do it. His crows are always learning something, and his knowledge is quickly growing to rival that of Vegapunk.

And so was his power for his crows were working hard at all times, infiltrating all parts of life, acquiring anything of value, including some valuable Devil Fruits... Only he knows how ridiculously powerful he was.

Yovan let out a sigh before turning around, his eyes meeting with those of Prince Loki, the latter still watching him from afar.

Prince Loki acted very naturally as he nodded at Yovan with a gentle smile before walking away... His behavior was strange.

'His body is weak... At least in comparison to other giants.' Yovan made an observation, 'Yet he is supposed to be the strongest warrior of the Giants? Loved by all?'

Just the word loved by all sounded like a red flag to Yovan for it was really true, his crows told him as much... It's an impossibility, 'So the question is what's his Devil Fruit? And what's his goal?'
