Chapter 147: Every bubble Has An Ending II

...........

Every Bubble has an ending, some just come later than others, and one, in particular, was able to survive many months.

This bubble is a miracle, the likes of which has never been seen before. How can a bubble of such destructive power survive for so long?

Long long ago, when the Strangers visited the Fish-Men Island, Yovan was troubled by some fishes, quite the annoying fishes they were.

He really didn't seek any trouble, things just kinda happened and they ended up in a battle.

He also didn't really mean to, but he accidentally learned from the fish, using their own power against them... He learned a valuable Martial Art named Fish-Man Karate.

It solved a problem he had, the instability of his Kiryu Hasshoken as he tested it right there and then by creating a bubble.

The bubble looked simple, mostly white, transparent even, but with an inky dark, almost unnoticeable point in the center.

The bubble was simply condensed Hasshoken so stable it looked harmless. In fact, it seemed to be weightless as it floated high... Higher... Even Higher.

At some point, it reached an end, the rocky bottom of the redline, and it simply couldn't break through it.

Moreover, the bubble was too stable to simply explode, even with the passing of time... It survived months.

It didn't stay there for too long though as it escaped depths through sheer coincidence and fortune.

Yeah, who would've thought that something of Yovan's creation would be so fortunate as it got sucked in by one of the numerous beasts that dwell in the depths?

It didn't explode. No, it somehow was only sucked into the beast to reside within it, still as stable as ever.

Somehow, just somehow, fortune was with that bubble even as the beast went through many battles in the depths for food.

It fought, munched, and swallowed numerous creatures, humans alike, some of those who escape New World to go back to Paradise.

Paradise is paradise in comparison to New World, so the beast had a steady income of food of those escaping the hellhole that's New World.

But there were some pirates with stubbornness and enough strength to escape the beast, being able to delay it while their ship so desperately marched to the surface.

The beast, however, was also stubborn with the instincts of a monster. There is just something about ships that attract many monsters, the beast is one of them.

[Countdown: 1]

The beast was scary with green scarred skin, some parts of it were almost like the scales of dragons. It almost looked like a bee with a bloated back, but an equally monstrous mouth.

The bloated back was actually its stomach, and somewhere within resides a bubble... Even something as small as a bubble created by Yovan can survive miraculously, just not for much longer.

The escaping ship and its desperate crew set off an engine that pushed it towards the surface, and they were fortunate for they would've died if not for some other beasts.

Indeed, other beasts started showing themselves, also going for the ship, colliding with each other to shake the sea.

They crunched and pulled out of each other, shredding their flesh and even breaking their bones, but in the end, fortune was the bubble's friend, thus it was the beast's friend as well.

The beast survived and followed after the ship even as it started to get bright. They could see the light on the horizon, the light of the surface.

The light of the sun was very intense, blinding even for the beast. It simply wasn't used to light, not in the depths.

It even stays away from the Sunlight Tree Eve, the three that produce sunlight in some places in the depths, rarely going there unless it was hunting for prey.

The beast had to close its eyes as it did one last push, lunging toward the ship, and shredding it to pieces, munching at what it can as it broke through the surface.

It was going at such a speed that it jumped high up above the surface out of hunger... Just following its instinct.

[Countdown: 0]

[2768+3375+2378+2850+3750=15121= -15121] It was time for misfortune.

"AhM? Kill the trash," The beast didn't see it, but there was another ship sailing on the surface, quite the unique luxurious ship it was.

The beast barely missed it but the noise it caused annoyed who was on it, an older man with a hairstyle that curls upward. He has a curly black mustache and a fluffy gray beard and wears black shades.

The man was wearing a thick white suit with medal-like knobs and a bubble over his head to prevent himself from breathing the same air as the commoners. His suit also includes a thick white cape.

Indeed, the man was a World Noble, his name being Saint Rosward, and he made an order as he tapped the floor with his cane.

Since the death of a world noble under the hands of Apollo, most celestials stopped leaving the Holy City of Mary Geoise, but some still did, albeit they stayed around the Red Line.

They were also protected by several Pacifistas as well as a Vice Admiral at all times, performing all and every order like dogs because that's what the Celestials consider them to be.

The Death of a World Noble barely impacted their confidence and delusions. They still see themselves as gods, and the vice admiral didn't argue as he unsheathed his blade and released a slash.

The Vice Admiral is very strong as pretty much all of them are, and they all have a certain mastery over Haki, so it wasn't much of a surprise when the slash split the beast in half.

That's usually the end of the story. However, fortune was no longer on the bubble's side. In fact, misfortune was on its side, declaring that Every Bubble Has An Ending.

The slash split not only the beast in half, but also the bubble, and no amount of stability can save it from that, so there was silence... Then there was more silence, and some more.

If Yovan was here, the desire to create a painting would be burning bright inside him for the scenery was that of a miracle.

The beast despite being split in half was frozen in the air for holding it together were fractures aking to the branches of trees, dark fractures.

It was instant. The bubble was split open, then there were fractures spread far and wide, and one of those fractures happened to... To go through the World Noble.

The World Noble was silence for he was dead, hung there powerlessly by a dark branch going through his head, the only sound heard was that of the cane falling to the floor.

"Ah? AH? AHHNNO nOno no no no no nOn ONo, please NO!!??" A voice was finally heard, that of the Vice Admiral, his cries of despair and bewilderment.

He was tasked with protecting the celestial, but he failed. The circumstances don't matter at all, what matters is that the world has just witnessed the second fall of a Celestial.

No matter what happens from there on, death was his destiny, a punishment for his failure. The fractures of gloom were pretty much Yovan's signature move, known by all.

The Marines also didn't doubt it much for one way or another, Yovan was responsible for the death of a celestial.

Yovan was understandably confused at the moment for he could see when the countdown ended, when misfortune fell, yet nothing happened.

He prepared so much for the end of the countdown, turning feather cyclone Island into a fortress of traps along with the entirety of his crew, yet nothing happened.

The Strangers were even more confused, but none were more perplexed than Yovan as something appeared before him, something only he can see.

[Question:]

That's the option that appears every time he survives a countdown, every time he prevails against the fall of misfortune, so why did it just appear yet nothing happened?

"Let's move," Yovan ordered as he frown, his expression soon turning into amusement as he shook his head, "Misfortune did indeed fall upon me... It's just a misfortune I can not see."

Without a question, the Strangers escaped from seemingly nothing, Seizon No Hono flying in the sky just out of caution as Yovan checked up on the Pantheon... Everything was fine.

He stormed his brain on what could've happened, but nothing came to mind, or more like, many things came to mind, so many that it was pointless to think about which one must've happened.

It was indeed pointless for who would think that the bubble he released long long ago would go on to survive only to bite him in the butt after so long? Such are the ways of misfortune.

"Sengoku?" Yovan narrowed his eyes as he answered a call.

"We found traces of the Pantheon. We found them long ago, but we had to make sure. Now, we're certain they're there... It's time for you to take action."

"I'll be there," Yovan responded, listening to the location before hanging up, biting his fingers right after until they bled, "Ahh, Misfortune." He mumbled.
