Jackson POV

On the following morning, after my encounter with Hancock, I used haki to repeatedly check out our surroundings as soon as my eyes opened.

Some might wonder why would I do something like that or think I fell off the bed and hit my head but it's quite the contrary. Right now it would no longer surprise me even if an emperor or some navy admirals appear out of nowhere like it happened yesterday with Hancock.

Like seriously, so far I surprise-encountered Shiki, Kizaru, Hancock, a big ambush and now Hancock again and four of them not only within a single year but also away from the New World as well.

'It strangely feels like the Grand Line is the tall dark grass and they are 'that' Pokémon you don't want to face yet it keeps popping up every 2 steps you take. It's not really dangerous but still annoying…'

Only after making sure that no big shots were lingering around, did my day officially start. Or so I thought until I went out to the deck.

"Captain."

"Morning Augur."

Greeting Augur, who was already on deck and looking into the distance like usual, made me feel relieved since he is the best lookout there is. If he doesn't spot anyone and I don't sense anyone then there is no one near us. At least that were my thoughts before he continued speaking.

"By the way captain-"

"Hmm? What is it? Something the matter?"

"Not really a matter. Just something you should be informed about. There is a big ship closing in on our current position."

"..."

Augur can see further than I can sense with my haki, that much I clearly know, yet the fact that he thinks it's something worthwhile to tell me ahead of time instead of shooting them down makes me have a bad premonition.

"... By chance... can you see their flag?"

"Yes, I can see it perfectly. It's the Big Mom Pirates."

"... Of course it's one of them..."

That confirms it. There definitely is some kind of MC aura at play around me. Even if they have no business with us and we are just running into each other by chance, it doesn't change the aura fact.

It kinda rubs me the wrong way, that they appeared when I planned dealing with Mingo first, but on the other hand, this might be convenient since I planned to give Big Mom a visit anyways.

"Should I go and wake up the others?"

"No need for now. Given your eye-power, the majority will have woken up by the time they arrive here. Also if they try something funny I'll just nuke them with THAT technique."

"You want to use THAT here?"

He sounded surprised. Why wouldn't I use a technique I spent so much time blood and sweat to master?

Well anyways, my prediction came true. Half an hour later the ship finally entered my field of view as well. Meanwhile Kuina, Bepo Robin and Kench all gathered on the deck. Well Kench didn't stay long.

He greeted everyone, listened to what Augur and me told them before going to prepare some thinks for breakfast, completely carefree, not even nervous.

Anti climatic much but fine as well. The huge ship with a creepy moving face started heading directly towards our position once we were spotted, prompting anyone to grab their weapons but no attack came even when we are in range for the cannons.

How can I be sure we are in range? Well they are in range of our cannons so no way their cannons can't reach us from there.

Checking the ship out with haki revealed that no one strong (for my standards) was on the ship so perhaps they really weren't here to fight.

Knowing that neither Big Mom nor her generals were present I just relaxed and sat on the deck, enjoying the morning air till they came so close that my crew and I could look at and talk with them.

One man stepped up to the railing of the huge ship and started talking. He was tall with strange reddish orange hair. It was oven.

"Finally I caught up. Jackson Pirates! I want to speak with your captain, Portgas D. Jackson!"

His voice was loud and the look in his eyes fierce. He was gazing over to where I was still chilling, obviously waiting for me to answer but before I could, Augur went ahead and stepped up.

Looking up at Oven he fixed the zoom monocle on his eye with his left hand, causing it to shine as it reflected the sun light while he spoke.

"And what do you want from our captain?"

His voice wasn't any less resolute then Oven's showing how confident he was in taking them on if he didn't like his answer.

Understandably so, since excluding me, only four of my crew mates have a chance to win against Augur. The others can't reach him without getting shot.

'Regardless of Augur's power, if he tries something funny I'll show that puny heat brat the immensity of heaven and earth.'

Back to the topic. Oven didn't answer he just threw an envelope at Augur.

"This is from Mama, so make sure to give this to your captain."

The envelope got the interest of the others who were there as well, so they all moved to Augur. Oven didn't stay around as he commanded his people to set sail and continue their travel to wherever they are going.

Augur brought the envelope over and I opened it under the curious gaze of the others allowing everyone to read what is written inside.

"An invitation?"

Kuina was the first one to wonder out loud. What Oven handed me was an invitation to Big Mom's next tea party, a gathering of representatives from influential and resourceful factions, organisations and other sort of groups.

"And not only that. According to what is written here it seems like she has something to discuss with me personally."

"It seems that the tea party will be held in a bit less than 2 months. Captain are we going?"

Bepo asked the obvious this time.

"Of course we are. To my knowledge, Big Mom has a Road Poneglyph and at least one other Poneglyph so why wouldn't we go take a look."

Later Robin informed the others of the news during breakfast. Everyone acted with composure after learning we are going to Big Mom's tea party and make some trouble but hey, a party is only really good when some party crasher make an appearance.

"By the way..."

Sachi started to speak now that the news have been revealed.

"What do you think the important matter mentioned in the invitation would be?"

"Hmm..."

A good question but there is no real answer to it at this point. The best we can do about it is guessing but I'd rather not else we might focus on a wrong possibility.

"Perhaps she will ask Jackson to start working under her."

Kuina might be right but if Big Mom really does say bullshit like that I'll sucker punch that bitch in while in my muscle form.

"I think she would want to win captain over maybe by forming an alliance in name only, while trying to put him to work like one of her generals."

Law also makes a lot of sense. While an alliance in name would be fun just for the sake of giving Sengoku and the elders more gray hairs, the problem it would bring along aren't really worth it.

"And what if it is an alliance through marriage?"

The room suddenly quieted down real quick after Enel spoke. Everyone was looking at him me included.

"Now that you mention it... she does have some beautiful daughters."

"Captain?!" (Sachi)

"No Captain! Don't let the horny control you!" (Penguin)

*Smack*

"I was only joking! And what do you mean horny? I am a man of discipline, sheer will and absolute focus and commitment to my goal!"

"..." (Everyone)

"...You all... Bite me. Who cares about what Big mom wants to say anyway."

Shrugging my shoulders I just told them what I thought.

"Whatever it is, I'll hear it myself from Big Mom. Also regardless we will most probably end up fighting since we are aiming for her Poneglyphs if you remember."

With this an end was put to the discussion. Shortly after we continued our journey to beat Mingo... or at least that was the plan. Not even half a day later, Augur informed me of another ship 'coincidentally' sailing in our direction.

'Oh for fucks sake who is it now?!'

(AN: Hey everyone! Sorry I am late by more than a weak. Truthfully I was just busy partying after finishing all my tests. As you may know college life is more then just tests and studying so yeah... I was getting wasted with my friends the whole night slept for the first half of the day after, regretted my actions the second half of the day yet still repeated it every night all the time till monday. After not updating for so long, it felt quite hard to start writing again. It wasn't as easy to write the chapter and it took me some days to finish one. If you notice something wrong with the chapters, pls do be understanding and point it out to me clearly, I'll try to remember and improve on it. As always hope you enjoy reading!)
