Everything was going smoothly.
The New Marineford was finished being built. It didn't look silly, but very intimidating.
The standard Seagull logo was present but in a different way.
The Seagulls were stationed on almost every building looking down menacingly, resembling Ravens more than anything. It made everyone feel like they were being watched constantly, but after a few weeks they got used to it.
On the HQ building, a Giant Seagull stood on the roof, spreading its wings and looking down at the entire island with a menacing glint in its eyes.
The buildings were built like barracks and everything had a very military feel!
After a year, Vegapunk returned to Egghead… Well, it wasn't the old man, but one of his Satellites, Lilith! Franky nearly fell in love with her! Or he might've!
She was a robot in any case, so either way Franky was a bit strange in this regard. Technically it was still Vegapunk, but not really since all his Satellites had different personalities. They shared the same experience, but were essentially separate beings.
It was very strange, Galan didn't understand it. Vegapunk split himself into 6? Galan didn't know, the old man was always a strange one.
However, his technology was truly unbelievable.
He even invented a laser rifle.
Galan gave this to Olvia and forgot about it, but Vegapunk came to New Marineford and worked on some of the buildings, transforming Galan's personal home on the island into a high tech area full of training apparatuses.
Galan wasn't an idiot by any means, but he had a hard time understanding how these things worked. Fortunately, he was a quick learner. By the time Vegapunk left, he knew how everything worked.
He could even create a 'television' as Vegapunk called it. That being said, if you asked him to make a Laser rifle, he couldn't do it. His talents lied in fighting, psychology, and war tactics.
The New Marineford was better than the old in every way.
Long were the days where everyone was free and easy.
The new Marines would work like clockwork. Easy going off the clock but hyper serious on the job. Justice wasn't something to take lightly.
Every one of them were expected to lay down their lives to defeat evil!
This is what Galan drilled into the recruits for 2 years straight!
There were even Pacifistas walking around New Marineford, patrolling as usual. However Galan suggested that Vegapunk modify them to be more than just guards. The New Pacifistas would answer questions, give directions, take in reports, send out orders from Galan, and much more.
Galan always felt that the Marine system was a bit outdated and slow. You had to go through so many steps to do anything, so he simplified it.
Even a random Pacifista was connected to a network. According to vegapunk, this network kept track of everything in the Marine storages. The number of weapons, special swords, Devil Fruits, etc.
Originally, Marines earned Merit points to redeem Devil Fruits and increase their strength. Now they could apply for these Devil Fruits via the Pacifistas and, should they be approved, the Devil Fruits, Named Weapons, Special information, etc., was sent directly to their door.
However, the only problem with this was that Galan didn't quite like the technological system. He preferred to note everything down on paper… Although not everyone felt this way, most of the Logistics divisions felt this system was much better than before!
They praised Galan to the sky for implementing such a thing! It would increase productivity and efficiency by 300%! Galan didn't care about such things, the old way was good with him.
He still took notes and received reports via transponder snail, but they were all through Pacifistas now. Other than the reports from outside Marineford from Special Units, the rest went through Pacifistas on Marineford and then to Galan in a systematic manner.
Olvia had a much easier time so Galan silently let it go.
Another bit of information was that a man named Aramaki joined the Marines and he was extremely strong. His fruit was the Nature Nature fruit and it was absurdly strange, he had Admiral level strength…
The only problem was Aramaki reminded Galan of Sakazuki. He was very radical, believing that pirates should die. While there was nothing wrong with thinking this way, the judgment must still be within reason!
The Marines were not dictators, they simply judged whether someone committed evil!
Lumping all pirates in the same boat was something Galan made sure to fix in these recruits. Not all pirates were evil and deserved death, the ones who harmed the innocent were the true enemy, the rest could be sent to Impel Down, but not killed!
This was very important!
Otherwise what was the difference between them and the World Government?!
This was something Galan would never compromise on. It must be this way! Even if it brought suspicion, he didn't care because he wouldn't discard his morals! No matter what!
He also cracked down on Corruption.
Every Marine who was even tempted to do such a thing, disappeared immediately. Either reformed or killed depending on what they had done.
There was no room for evil in his Marines!
Hence Galan paid special attention to Aramaki. This guy who wanted to be a hero like Galan but had some slightly twisted morals, Galan didn't know what to say. He beat him with Momousagi before finally letting them fight on Punk Hazard.
The winner, surprisingly, was Momousagi!
However they split the island in two!
One of them was a deteriorated poisonous wasteland and the other was an extremely lush Jungle full of trees, plants, and flowers. It was very nice but very weird.
This was because of Aramaki's fruit awakening during the fight!
Logias permanently changed the land under them into their own domain. Most of them were like this.
That's why there was an Island in the New World that was always covered in lightning and thunderstorms.
A long, long time ago, around a few hundred years, a man awakened the Rumble Fruit on this island and permanently changed the environment!
After that he was never seen again, along with the Rumble fruit.
After posting Momousagi as the new Admiral, he spread it in the newspaper.
All these things happened within two years, but there were still some secret operations that Galan didn't notify the Marines about.
He went to Impel Down after figuring out everything that happened. He picked up the man who aided in Luffy's escape, claiming to execute him. The man's name was Bon Clay!
Galan secretly trained him and sent him to SWORD, claiming that he would be helping Luffy this way. The man didn't even hesitate!
Galan and Olvia also went on a secret vacation to various Sky Islands, recruiting various Sky People into a special unit under Galan.
So far, Galan had a Special Unit consisting of almost every single race in this world.
The Magma fruit was given to Dragon, who gave it to Sabo, and the Quake Fruit…
Galan took the fruit with him as he left Marineford.
