Chapter 45: Knocked up

The next morning.

The crew all came back only to see 6 dead bodies laying near the Merry, Kai was too lazy to clean them up. They started to freak out and ran inside to see Kai, Cricket and his two followers sleeping peacefully in the house. Luffy decided to sneak up on Kai and reached out to take his mask off but before he could two hands grabbed his arm.

One of them was Kai's while the other one was a hand growing out of his chest. This caused Kai to smile. "Thanks, devil-chan, anyway what was everyone so panicked about earlier?" He asked and the crew pointed to the 6 headless corpses outside.

"Ah. They tried to burn the Merry, fuckin' bastards." Kai said as he got up to brush his teeth.

Once the crew heard that they tried to burn the Merry, any guilt or remorse for the corpses that they had was gone. You don't touch a member of the Straw Hats!

Kai finished brushing his teeth before he walked out and told Zoro. "You'll never believe what I heard last night while I was talking to Smokey."

Zoro raised an eyebrow and Kai and him had a drink together as Kai told Zoro about what Hina said. After the story both of them were on the floor laughing.

"Fuckin' Smokey, I love that guy." Kai said as he finished laughing.

Zoro agreed and said. "You're boss is fucking hilarious."

A while later.

The crew had gotten ready to set off and Kai cheered. "Whoohooo! Onwards my servants! To our deaths in the knock-up stream!!!" He said from the top of the mast as he pointed forward.

"We aren't your servants!!" Luffy yelled out.

Nami screamed. "That's your only problem with what he said?!?!" The whole crew just laughed, half finding it funny, the other half laughing nervously as they were scared.

Kai hopped down and walked up to Robin. "What do you think the odds of us all kicking the bucket today are?" He asked Robin.

"Hmmm. Who knows. Probably 100% chance of death. We either all die slowly by drowning or die instantly from the impact. It's 50-50." Robin replied.

Kai nodded. "0% chance of survival huh. Yeah, that sounds about right."

"Wahahaha/Nishishishi!" The two of them laughed at that and Chopper and Usopp hugged each other while crying.

"Something is wrong with their brains! They need a doctor!" Chopper called out.

"You're the doctor!" Usopp said.

Chopper froze. "You're right! And I still have no idea what's wrong with them!"

This caused Luffy to laugh. "Shishishi! They're my crew! Nothing is wrong with them!"

Nami sighed. "That's the opposite of how this crew works."

Zoro heard this and said. "What's that supposed to mean Orange? What's wrong with m-" He fell asleep mid sentence. Causing everyone to laugh at him.

Sanji lit a cigarette and smiled. "At least there is nothing wrong with me."

Kai heard this and called out. "Wow! What a beauty!" As he pointed in a certain direction.

"A beauty? Where?" Sanji yelled as his eyes turned into hearts and he ran towards the direction Kai was pointing, falling off the boat.

"Wahahaha! Nothing wrong with you my ass, love cook! Look at yourself!" Kai called out as Sanji got back on the boat and mumbled something about a stupid mask wearing pervert. Kai choked and started coughing.

"I don't wanna hear YOU calling anyone a pervert, shit cook!" Zoro yelled out as he woke up.

"What's that supposed to mean, Mosshead?" Sanji called back and they started fighting.

Kai was stunned. "Did he just call me a pervert? HE, called ME a pervert... Bruh." Kai shook his head. "Idiots! I'm surrounded by them!"

Robin laughed and teased Kai. "Nishishi! You are a bit of a pervert."

Kai heard this and pretended to cry. "Devil-chan hates me!" Chopper showed up and patted him on the back to console him.

Kai looked up at Robin with teary eyes but she just giggled and turned away. Kai fell over backwards like he had been shot and played dead, causing Chopper to freak out and call for a doctor.

After a little while Kai got back up like nothing happened. "He's alive! I did it! I revived the dead!" Chopper called out in joy.

Kai just laughed. "Wahaha! You sure did! You're the best reindeer ever!"

Chopper blushed. "That doesn't make me happy you bastard!" Before he continued. "I'm not a reindeer! I'm a dog!" He yelled out causing everyone to laugh at his mistake.

"Wahahaha! My bad! I forgot you were a dog for a second! Thanks for reminding me Chopper! Best dog ever!" Kai said, causing Chopper to pale.

"Why did I just call myself a dog? Am I going insane?" He kept mumbling before calling out. "Guys! I need a doctor! Something is wrong with me!"

"""You're the doctor!""" Everyone yelled at him, causing Chopper to go pale again.

"Oh no! I don't know what's wrong with me! And I'm the doctor! AHHH!" Chopper ran around before Robin picked him up and pet him, calming him down eventually.

"Phew, Thanks Robin." Chopper said as he calmed down.

"Nishishishi! No problem doggie." She said and Chopper yelled out. "I'm not a dog!!" Kai fell over laughing at Chopper.

After a little while longer the crew got to the whirlpool where the knock-up stream came from. By the time they were there Kai's face was emotionless. He sensed what or rather who was coming with his haki.

"Bastard must really wanna die today. I told him he was on thin ice." He muttered with a dull voice as he looked into the distance. The whole crew was still joking around and laughing, causing them to miss Kai's behavior except for Robin, who had kept an eye on him, literally.

Robin walked towards Kai only to see him staring at nothing. She tapped on his shoulder and he turned around with eyes void of any emotion. She looked at him with curiosity. She tried to use her kenbunshoku only to sense nothing wrong. She couldn't sense a single emotion from him. She gasped at this, this had never happened to her before. Sure people could sometimes hide certain emotions from you but just having no emotions at all was something she never experienced or heard about.

Kai was so good at hiding his emotions when he was like this, that you needed a certain level of haki to even sense anything from him. If your kenbunshoku wasn't good enough then you would have no chance of even noticing his emotions at all.

Robin then tried to sense the area in the direction Kai was looking only to sense nothing. "Too far away." She heard Kai say in a voice that sounded especially eerie to her now that she realized it sounded so off because it was emotionless.

"What is it?" She asked Kai. Who still was staring at a fixed spot on the horizon.

There was an uncanny pause for a moment before she got a reply. "A bastard." Was all Kai said.

But it was all Robin needed to hear as he connected the dots. "From yesterday?"

Kai nodded without a vocal answer.

A few minutes later.

Robin could sense a ship in the distance moving at fast speeds towards them. She was shocked. "How did you sense that from so far away?"

Kai just said. "Practice, my fruit also helped." As he was still eyeing the boat in front of them.

After about 20 seconds Usopp yelled out. "There is a boat over there!" As he saw Blackbeard's ship.

The crew got in position to fight and waited until the other boat was within earshot. Eventually they could hear a laugh. "Zehahahaha! There you are! The 100 Million belli boy!" A man said as he showed both Luffy and Zoro's new bounties. Causing the two to be very happy they got new bounties.

Nami called out. "That's the guy from before!"

Kai looked over at Teach with empty eyes. Nami saw him and got a weird feeling in her gut again, that something was wrong with him.

"Is it just me, or is Fujin acting weird?" She asked Robin.

She responded. "Not just you, he really hates that guy but is somehow hiding his emotions. I don't know how he does it."

Nami was surprised. She kept trying to get a read on Kai but still felt nothing wrong other than a slight gut feeling.

At this point Kai stepped up on the railing as if he was waiting for a certain que. "Teach! Did you already forget what I told you?" He yelled out in the same voice.

A shot zoomed straight for Kai's head but it bounced off without leaving a scratch. It was a bullet coated in haki that Kai used his own haki to defend against.

"Three strikes and you're out Van Auger. Even your fate won't save you the next time you do that." Kai's voice sent a chill down the sniper's spine.

He felt as if it was his fate to die by Kai's hands if he tried that again.

A large man in a wrestling outfit called out. "Wiiihahaha! Don't think you're some big shot just because you-" He stopped speaking as Kai landed behind him after slicing his body in half.

Kai didn't move his feet but turned his head back to look at the three other men on the ship. He side eyed the three with his eyes that looked like they were a bit darker blue than usual, almost like they were glowing as his presence felt heavier for a second.

"Anyone else?" He asked in a calm, dull voice. Making two of the three people on the boat's skin crawl.

The third person just laughed. "Zehahahaha! Looks like your fruit is pretty strong! Perhaps I'll just take it!"

Kai walked back towards the Merry and beside Blackbeard without even looking at him. As Kai passed Blackbeard his wrist was grabbed and Blackbeard nullified his fruit's abilities with his own darkness fruit.

"Zehahahaha!! My darkness fruit is 'gravitation' I can take anything I want into it! Even the devil's power! HAhahahaha!!" Blackbeard called out as he was extremely confident now that he had Kai's devil fruit sealed off.

As soon as Kai's fruit abilities were gone, he spun his wrist around and broke his arm free from Blackbeard's grasp. The moment he got free, instead of running away he grabbed Blackbeard's wrist and squeezed. A loud crack was heard as he broke Blackbeard's wrist without the use of his fruits powers.

"My fruit isn't what makes me strong, Teach." Kai said in his chilling voice as he let the wind carry him back to the Merry.

Teach just grabbed his wrist and laughed. "Zehahaha! I knew it! You can't kill me right now can you? Even if you are strong, I have nothing to fear!"

Kai landed on the Merry lightly and turned around. "Are you sure you want to test that?" The second his sentence finished the knock-up stream went off sending the crew flying in the air.

Leaving behind a stunned Teach and two scared crewmates.

Kai just sat down on the mast as the boat was sideways. Everything that had just happened only took 10 seconds to occur. It played out exactly how Kai foresaw it. Kai let his emotionless mask fall as he smiled like a maniac. He felt extremely happy right now for two reasons. One was that he killed Jesus Burgess and the other was that he confirmed that Ace was probably right about Teach's level of haki. He didn't have future sight and he couldn't sense a thing that Kai was going to do when Kai wanted to hide it.

"Wahahaha! You're fucked Blackbeard! The next time we meet will be the last!" He laughed like a madman with a small light still shining in his eyes before they went back to normal.

The crew felt the oppressing presence around them go back to normal and figured it was because they were no longer near Teach. Kai never even realized what he had just done.
