Chapter 70: Killing (I)
Charlotte ignored the blood and gore staining his right arm and the blood splattered across his face. He glanced at the remaining thirty or so thugs with an amused expression.
"Want to come at me all at once?"
Charlotte's tone was playful, but his words sent a shiver down everyone's spine.
Gulp!
Several of the thugs swallowed nervously. Was it even possible for a human to punch through someone's chest like that? They were frozen in place, unsure of what to do.
Seeing their hesitation, Charlotte shook his head in disappointment.
"This is so boring! I guess I have no choice but to—"
Before he could finish, a sharp, irate voice interrupted him from behind.
"What's going on here? Why haven't you moved the next items to the stage? Do you all want to lose your jobs?"
The shrill, angry voice belonged to Butler Fei, who stormed into the room, his face red with frustration.
He scanned the room, his irritation turning to confusion as he took in the scene.
The staff were lined up against the walls, staring fearfully at a figure standing in the middle of the corridor. Nearby, a corpse lay in a pool of blood.
Butler Fei's gaze shifted to the man in the corridor. Recognition dawned on his face—it was the escaped slave he'd seen earlier.
"How did he get out? And the one sitting on that cage—wasn't he sold with him?"
Butler Fei's confusion quickly turned to anger.
"Quick! Catch that slave and put him back in his cage!"
The command snapped the thugs out of their shock. Although hesitant, they knew better than to disobey Butler Fei's orders.
However, their hesitation did not escape Butler Fei's notice. His face twisted in fury.
"What are you all waiting for? If you don't catch him, I'll make sure every single one of you becomes a slave!"
The threat lit a fire under the thugs. Fear of Butler Fei outweighed their terror of Charlotte. Weapons in hand, they charged at him.
Satisfied, Butler Fei turned his attention to the staff still standing idly by.
"And you lot! Stop standing around! Move the next items to the stage before I have you all fired!"
The staff scrambled to follow his orders, afraid of facing Butler Fei's wrath.
Hearing the commotion of the thugs advancing, Butler Fei smiled smugly, certain that they would handle the situation. Without sparing another glance, he turned and walked toward the auction house.

Meanwhile, Charlotte watched the charging thugs with disdain.
"Pathetic."
In one swift motion, he dashed forward, his movements a blur.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Within seconds, the thugs were sent flying. Some crashed into walls, others into the iron cages holding slaves.
Each attack from Charlotte was devastating. His kicks and punches landed with brutal precision, leaving his opponents incapacitated or worse.
The scene left the remaining staff and slaves stunned. Even the Red Earl, still perched atop a cage, raised an eyebrow in mild amusement.
Charlotte grabbed one of the remaining thugs—a towering man over two meters tall—by the head. His grip tightened as he turned to face the crowd.
Snap!
With a casual flick of his wrist, Charlotte crushed the man's skull. Blood and gore splattered across the floor as the lifeless body crumpled to the ground.
Two thugs remained. Their weapons trembled in their hands as they stared at Charlotte in sheer terror.
Charlotte dropped the corpse in his hand and stepped forward. He reached out, grabbing each of the remaining thugs by the neck.
A cruel smile spread across his face.
"Goodnight."
Crack!
With a sharp twist, he snapped both their necks simultaneously.
Charlotte turned his attention to Butler Fei, who was walking away, oblivious to the carnage behind him. With a wicked grin, Charlotte picked up the two corpses by their collars and hurled them at Butler Fei.
The two bodies flew through the air, passing inches from Butler Fei's head before crashing into the wall ahead.
Bang! Bang!
The noise startled Butler Fei, who froze in place, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

In the auction house, the loud crash silenced the crowd.
Doudou, the auctioneer, forced a smile as she tried to maintain the lively atmosphere.
"Thirty-eight million Baileys! Any higher bids? Remember, this is made from the finest pearls of the East Blue—priceless!"
Her voice quivered slightly as she gestured to the gleaming jewel on the podium.
The audience, however, was distracted. The earlier noise had snapped them out of their competitive frenzy, and no one seemed interested in bidding any further.
Doudou cursed internally, wondering who had caused the disruption.
In one of the private rooms, Major General Wells frowned, his instincts telling him something was amiss.
"What was that sound?"
The uneasy feeling in his chest grew stronger.
---
Backstage, Butler Fei slowly turned to face Charlotte. His face paled as he took in the scene.
Thirty corpses littered the ground, their blood pooling around Charlotte's feet. The escaped slave stood in the center, his predatory gaze locked onto Butler Fei.
The auction house manager swallowed hard, his voice trembling as he stammered, "W-what do you think you're doing? Do you know who you're dealing with?"
Charlotte didn't reply. Instead, he took a step forward, his smile widening.
Butler Fei took an involuntary step back.
"I'll make you regret this," he hissed, though his tone lacked conviction.
Charlotte's eyes glinted with amusement.
"Regret? No, I think it's you who should start preparing to die."
