It didn't take the Strawhats even a week to gather their army, which was quite surprising as fighting against Max wasn't something just anyone would dare do. Even the Minks had refused, even though they were friendly and had helped during Ace's rescue.

Luffy and an armada of ships with allies were behind them. Once again the Strawhat Captain stood in front of the Waterfall that he had been so excited to go up before.

"Everyone!" Luffy called out to his crewmates. "We will go and rescue Robin!"

Amongst the crew, there were some new additions, like Jinbe. He had decided to help Luffy, remembering how Max had stopped him during the Marineford War. But the fishman was also cautious of something. "Luffy, be careful, Max is quite a scheming man."

"I know." Said Luffy, frowning. "But I just have to kick his ass and get Robin back."

Jibe nodded, but something still felt strange to him. Like certain things weren't adding up. Max would have normally interrupted them while they were gathering their army, but this time he had been very passive.

'It is as if he wanted us to gather this army and attack Wano. But why? It doesn't make sense.' - thought the fishman, trying to wrap his mind with what was really going on. 

The reason Luffy lost his arm had been because, during the Marineford war, Max flickered a pebble towards Jinbe, slowing him down. During which time Akainu had burned off one of Luffy's arms.

They climbed up the waterfall, all of the ships did so simultaneously. No problem arose through the way, and the best time to attack and destroy the army was when they were climbing up the waterfall.

Yet, no one had ever appeared to obstruct them. Once they landed on Wano's waters, looking around once again, Luffy was on guard. 

There was no one there yet. 

Zoro pulled out all of his swords and was fully on guard, unlike last time with Negan, he was ready for a fight against anyone now. 

An eerily quiet couple of minutes passed at first until suddenly the creaking sound of their ship's door opening sounded out. Everyone's eyes went towards it and they saw a man with long spiky silver hair, he was a giant of a man, towering even over Franky. 

*yawn* The man stretched himself and looked around. "You guys have some nice beds there. Also thanks for gathering the army here, you played into my plans."

[Gear: Fourth]

Luffy immediately went all out on the attack and used his one physical arm that was made of flesh and blood to attack.

[Kong Gun]

Baaam!!

His hit landed straight into Max's nose, but the monster of a man didn't even budge. "You know, Luffy, I am thankful to you. And I don't need to kill you today. But I will if I have to… I will slaughter your whole crew."

"Max?!" Chopper exclaimed in shock, surprised at the man's size and changes. Previously he used to be normal-sized with brown hair, but now he seemed like a different man.

Max looked at the little reindeer and smiled. "Yo, Chopper. How have you been doing? Hopefully getting on alright, I heard that you have been through some rough times."

"Why did you kidnap Robin?" Asked Chopper, with tears in his eyes.

Fwish!

Before anyone could even flinch, Max was in front of the reindeer, gently patting his head. 

Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Jibe looked on in shock, he had blitzed past them all, the strongest of the Strawhats, they all had Haki yet felt Max's presence disappear for a split second.

Franky, Nami, Brook, Usopp were shocked too, no one could even react. None of them felt any movement, it almost felt like Max had teleported.

'The distance in power between us is enormous!' - thought Jibe, unable to comprehend just how they could be so far apart in power. He had never seen something like this before. During the Marineford war, Max had been strong, but nowhere near this overwhelmingly powerful.

"There, there, little guy, don't be sad. I didn't do anything to Robin. I gave her a good room too." Max smiled, trying to appease his Chopper. He then looked at the others as he wiped off the cute reindeer's tears with a napkin that he had pulled out of nowhere. "Listen, guys, I don't think you are ready for what's about to happen."

"I don't care!" Yelled out Luffy, charging towards Max again. But just as he was about to punch him, an overwhelming pressure settled over Luffy, as if a mountain had been thrown on his shoulders.

Baaam!!!

He crashed on the deck of the ship, making cracks all around the hardwood floor. Which surprised Franky a bit, as the power to crack that wood needed to be physically strong.

"Ugh!!" Luffy grunted, trying to get up. But no matter what, he couldn't even move a finger.

"Luffy! What's wrong!" Said Zoro, trying to understand what just happened.

The Strawhat Captain opened his mouth and was barely able to mutter. "Conqueror's Haki…"

As soon as he said that, Max's Conqueror's Haki spread monstrously, and except Chopper, everyone else immediately was slammed to the ground.

Baam!!

Though Nami only fell to her knees.

"See, I can be gentle to women," Max said as if what he was doing somehow earned him a medal.

Jinbe on the other hand had seen him smash Boa Hancock to the ground during the Marineford War. So he knew that Max didn't even care about the gender of his enemies.

-Max POV-

I easily immobilized all of the Strawhats. While my Conqueror's Haki was strong, it wasn't something that could affect others with it that easily. Luffy could resist it, but when combined with the Gravity Fruit, that was a whole different ordeal.

Also, I now could move wherever I wanted, unnoticed. Due to the Invisibility Fruit, or as it was called, the Clear-Clear Fruit. Its invisibility would cloak someone even against Observation Haki, which was a little surprising, though it made sense. Or else Shiryu wouldn't have chosen this fruit in the canon events.

When I used Soru, before, my speed surpassed what anyone in the ship could follow with their eyes. And I used the Clear-Clear Fruit, causing my presence to disappear for a split second. Causing everyone here unable to sense me with their Haki. 

Luffy didn't have Future Sight since he never fought against Katakuri, so he wasn't any different either.

It probably seemed impossible to the others and quite terrifying. But in reality, it was mostly Devil Fruits that made me so overwhelmingly powerful.

Looking at the Strawhats, I smiled once more and said. "Well, I will have to take care of the other bugs. I can't have cockroach-like pirates come around Wano."

I jumped up in the sky, and my body slowly morphed into my hydra form, with dragonic wings on my back, three pairs of them. Each of my heads then turned draconic and my body covered the sky, covering the armada of ships below me in my shadow.

A sense of terror rose through all of the ships, I could feel it through my Observation Haki. Flame fathered in my mouth as I took a deep breath, and I blew out concentrated beams of fire.  

BOOOOOM!!!

The sea burned, well, more like boiled, but the ships that were destroyed were like fuel. Within less than a second, all of the ships were destroyed. Their rubble was on fire and within seconds thousands of people died.

What I wanted though was already achieved. Finally, I had all the ingredients I needed for my "death" and "rebirth".

My eyes wandered towards one of the ships that I hadn't destroyed. It had a Luffy-like figure on their ship, this showed that they were fans of the Strawhats. Thus was the main reason why I even started the war against Luffy.

Hopefully Sharlia was ready, everything was needed to line up before I can even check-mate this world. Though the plan was risky… and it had many unstable factors.
