Truths of the Future and Past

The next day, my office.

"Hmmm, I'll think about it after we find the next Polyglyph…" I say to myself ass I relook at the Otohime quest.

After thinking about it for a bit I head off to see Robin, when I get to her study she is just sitting at her desk reading her book and drinking some coffee.

"Finish learning everything you could from the Elbaf Polyglyph."

"Mhm, there wasn't really much else it just talked more about who helped the fallen kingdom, otherwise called the Great Kingdom by the tribes and the rest of the world because, 'we were unworthy to truly speak its true name' it says." (Robin)

"Hmmm so the Great Kingdom was so powerful that it had complete control of the world, and it seemed to also be highly advanced for it's time if they were the ones who made Pluton, Poseidon and Uranus, but it seemed the the 20 kingdoms that came together had made something called Hades that was a complete counter to those ancient weapons, and if the world knew the truth of who they really are it would question why the world government originally took them down… I think I know the next place we should go for the next Polyglyph." I say with a smile as I look towards Robin.

"You know where the next one is without using the compass?"

"Mhm, Robin….. do you want us to retrieve the Polyglyph from the remains of O'Hara?"

As I says that she just stands up in shock that I would even suggest that.

"You….. you'll really do that…. But that place has sunk deep underwater, how will you bring that back up to the surface?"

"Robin, let me ask you a question, you are the only survivor of the O'Hara incident right?" She just nods in response as some tears come out of her eyes.

"Then that Polyglyph is technically yours, as you are the only survivor of your people, so I can go down there and retrieve it and put it in my inventory and pull it back out when we come back home to give you enough time to study up on it."

"But…. If you could do that why didn't you do that with the ones from Skypeia or Elbaf, I understood the reason for not taking the Alabasta one since they wanted it buried away after all."

"There's a perfect reason for it, it's because it's something that is owned by the people and the land it is a part of, and that in someway has some importance to the people even if most don't care about it, but since you are the only survivor, it technically is yours and with your permission I can take it in my inventory and bring it home."

"Couldn't you have just stolen the Elbaf one then?"

"I probably could have but I wasn't exactly thinking straight at the time, plus being pissed off by being chased around by yetis didn't really help me think about it in more detail, I could just take pictures of the one in O'Hara but I know it's important to you so I'm willing to take it with us back home."

She then wipes the tears from her eyes before looking back at me.

"Then I thank you in advance for going to O'Hara and getting the Polyglyph back for me."

I just smile, "It's what I should do to make my future wife happy then it's worth it."

"Mmm well look who such a gentleman, maybe we should spend the time going there and back together." She says as she drags her hand across my chin and down my neck.

I pull her into my embrace and proceed to make out with her for awhile, lifting her up and having her wrap her arms and legs around me while we make out.

"Mmmm…. I'm a lucky woman to have a man like you…"

"And I'm a lucky guy to have you as well."

"You probably say that to all the others don't you?"

"Perhaps, but I always mean it that I'm lucky to have you and everyone here who are a part of my family."

"Mmmm then show me that love you have for me when we go to O'Hara lover of mine." She says as she gets off of me and goes back to packing some of her things.

I just smile and head out while gathering everyone so we can go off to the area of where O'Hara once was.

About 5 days later.

We have finally reached the general area of where O'Hara once was.

During the journey other pirates avoided us like the plague, seems the name of the Firebrand Pirates has spread to the other seas that any newbies that try to come into the grand line know not to screw with me and my crew.

"… So this is where O'Hara used to be huh? Just looking at the area you wouldn't assume that there was an island here before…" (Owen)

"This place was my home…. I wasn't really well liked due to me eating my Devil fruit which scared the children here, but I still loved this place and the researchers were the ones I learned from how to translate Polyglyphs… even if I only learned by watching them from afar while they did there work…" she says as tears stream down her place remembering her mother, Jaguar, and Clover.

I then look at her back and rest my hand on her shoulder, "Then the best thing we can do, besides avenging them, is to find the truth like they really wanted, but it's time I go take a swim." I say as I change into my swim trunks and take on a FishMan gills before diving deep into the sea.

The sea floor below wasn't actually a complete mess like you'd assume, sure there were destroyed ships resting at the bottom but the vegetation has grown around it making it a brand new forming corral reef.

I then spot the giant stump of an ancient tree in the center of this newly forming coral reef.

*That must be the Tree of Knowledge that was at the center of O'Hara, the Polyglyph is in the center of the base of that tree from what she told me.*

So I begin to swim deeper and soon enter the tree of knowledge and see buried under a bunch of rubble the Polyglyph of O'Hara.

I then finally reach it and then touch it, sucking it up into my inventory, but before I left I saw something that caught my eye, it was a coat that looked like would fit a woman, and it had the name Olivia written on it, but the body attached to this jacket seems to be missing as there were no body's or bones in here even though supposedly a lot of people died in here, including her mother, and this looks like it is her jacket, which I'm surprised has survived for over 12 years underwater after all so I also put it in my inventory and started to leave the tree and head back to the surface.

But as I was leaving the earth began to quake, before it began to rise, it seems that when O'Hara was destroyed the tree of knowledge fell on top of a huge Sea King, this one in the shape of a sea turtle who noticed the sudden decrease in weight on its back, as I prepared my blade to fight it just stopped and stared at me.

System: Sea king is trying to use the Voice of All Things to speak to user… User currently doesn't know how to hear the Voice of All Things…. System will translate for the time being to the best of the systems abilities.

"... Human….. Beware... Truth.... Gods.... Demons..... Change.... Fate..... World..... Burning..... All...…. Needed.... Time...… Short...…. Chaos...…. Follows...… Go...…" it says to me in a very cryptic way before it looks away and goes back inside its shell.

*….. What the hell was that about... whatever that was if I can understand it, some bad things are gonna happen in the future….. and I'll have to figure out what that is and somehow stop it…..*

I then turn to leave as I head up back to the surface and get back to my ship and reboots it, I have a rather Grimm look on my place.

"Nami… let's go back home…" I say before I take a seat and think over what that huge turtle said to me.

They all notice my rather serious mood, which is rather rare to see when I'm not either training or in battle so something down there must have happened.

"… What did you see down there that made you like this?" (Robin)

"….. a giant sea turtle like sea king had the Tree of Knowledge embedded on its shell, I was able to get the Polyglyph just fine but just as I left it spoke to me…."

"A sea turtle talked to you? Are you sure you didn't hit your head or something kid?" (Owen)

"My head is completely fine, but it talked to me in a very cryptic way, this is what it said to me." I say as I grab a pen and paper and write down what it said to me exactly.

"Hmmm it's very… odd with what was said, it obviously wants us to find the Truth, but it seems the time we have to find the truth is limited some how and that the world will begin to go up in flames and be brought to chaos should we fail, but this part about Gods and Demons doesn't make that much sense to me right now…" (Robin)

*Sigh* "This whole thing is giving me a headache….. I'm gonna lie down, when we get home I'll bring the Polyglyph out so you can study it…" I say as I massage my head and head off to my room to take a nap.

"…" (???)

As I sleep I seem to have a dream of some kind, I honestly can't tell if I'm in my body or someone else's as I see this dream unfold in front of me.

I'm on a marble type floor with blood pooling from my body, but then I realize this isn't me but someone else's body I was seeing through.

My crown lay in front of me just barely out of reach as I try to grab it, till suddenly another appears and grabs the crown and takes it away.

I then look up and see the one holding the crown and around 20 others behind them all looking down on me and then I begin to speak but I, Vargas, am not talking by choice.

"*cough cough* so…. This is it….. a bunch of lowly snakes wanting to take what shouldn't belong to them *cough* just so you can all rule the world, wanting to *cough cough* destroy everything my empire has brought to this world and send us back to the age of darkness once again just because some #%*%#^#%€**%^ gave you the power you don't deserve!"

"Hmph, it doesn't matter what you say, you and all those that stood with you have lost, this world is ours to rule now and we will be the rulers we always wanted to be, never to be put under your kinds thumb ever again, #%^#%###%%%^ couldn't save you while #%^#%%^#^*%*^# gave us what we desired at a very small price."

"#^%^*%%%^^%^%^ is what you gave up in return, #^%%^#*%#%#% were never meant to be trusted!!!! *cough cough cough!* you have doomed this world and everyone that lives on it... *wheeze*….. you will pay for this... sone of my many children scattered to the far corners of the world will live on….. they bare my will….. our empires legacy will flow through them and there descendants will avenge us after all they are-" but then the one who put the crown on there head stabbed there blade deep into my chest through my heart.

As I slowly fade away the last words I hear, "Then they will be Labeled as Enemies of God."

I then awake with a start with cold sweats coming off my body, i then realize that I'm in my bed alone left with my thoughts.

"It was a dream…. But it was too real…. Was that a vision of the past? It must have been… it must have been when the great kingdom fell and the 20 families won….. wait but there were 21 there…. So who was the extra? Was it the one wearing the crown? Because there's no true ruler of the world it's just them all together leading it…. And some of them lived on from the family that ruled the Grand Kingdom and spread out from them to the rest of the world…. Looks like I need to find those that are also known as 'Gods Enemies' then if I ever want to truly take down the world government once and for all, for now I should just rest up and think about all of this…

A few days later we finally came back home.

We then went deep into the HQ away from prying eyes so I could set up the Polyglyph so Robin could study up on it.

The rest of the day I just went back and relaxed waiting for Robin to come back to her Study for the night.

"Why are you sitting around waiting for me?"

"For two reasons, one to tell you about the dream I had after I met that sea turtle and the other thing a gift for you."

"You had a dream that you want to talk about?"

"Yes, let's go inside, I'll tell you everything I saw." I say as we both go inside and I tell her about my dream.

After telling her everything I saw, "Fascinating, it seems that whatever that turtle did to you it also let you see a vision of the past through the eyes of the last king of the Grand Kingdom before the original 20 kingdoms came together and made what would later be the world government…. Though there's no mentioning of there being 21 families only there being 20 and as far as history has said no one has lead the world on the empty throne since the founding of the world government…. Looks like we need to find out more about the void century to get the full picture and whatever the 20 families made a deal with to win the war…" she says as she ponders on what she has heard from me and what she has just got from the O'Hara Polyglyph.

"And the last thing, I think you will appreciate that I retrieved this down there as well." I say as I pull out Olivia's Jacket and hand it to her.

At first she doesn't recognize it, but then she sees the name Olivia stitched into the jacket and then she flashes back to the last time she saw her mother and the jacket she wore was this one right here.

She then falls to her knees and holds it close to her chest as she begins to silently cry her eyes out, I then kneel down next to her and hold her close.

"That was all that I found of her's…. Unfortunately there was no body only her jacket stuck underneath some rubble is all I found, I fixed it up a bit so it will last for years to come."

She just nods and puts her head on my chest as she begins to cry out loud into my chest as I just hold her close and rub her head and back as I am there for her.

"Shhh… it's ok… just let it all out…. I'll be here till your done…" I say as I cradle her in my arms as she keeps on crying into my chest, and eventually cry's herself to sleep. I just carry her off to her bed and let her sleep while she holds her mothers jacket close as I lay with her and hold her tight as I sleep with her for the night so she knows she's no longer alone in this world.
