For the Marines- Tanya’s Tales Pt. 1

After Leader had asked me to start of this mission of his I was once again, a part of the military, though specifically I started out getting accepted into the Alabasta Marine Base and joining the Military Training camp.

Ahh that brings me back to my previous world, the one before this one I mean, I had to go through a military training camp, back then it was hell, but as I am now and how strong my body is after going through two evolutions I was now currently back at my state of being before being brought to this world by Being D.

I personally call him Being D just because he seemed more like a devil or a demon to me and personally being an antithesis to how Being X was, Being D gave me options and choices I could make, While Being X forced all there ideals onto me and trying to make me into there believer.

Though I will say that the training in this world wasn't as bad as the previous which was very grueling to endure, though the constant sweltering heat here in Alabasta was a bit much for me and Visha since we both grew up in colder climates, but after we had gotten through our three month Marine Training we eventually got used to the heat and we're officially recruits awarding us our standard issue Marine uniforms.

"Ugh…. I look just like a child pretending to be a sailor with my looks." Tanya says as she looks at herself in the mirror and feeling like she's an idiot for wearing something like this.

Though when they were finally introduced to the commanding officer of the ship both me and Visha would be along with, we were both called out to be the gunners of the ships crows nest.

Reason being as that during our training we had showed off both our flight and amazing shooting skills and lucky for us we both got a real easy job to do where I could easily sleep while Visha is on lookout for pirates.

And so for the first few days me and Visha were up in the crows nest and nothing really happened since there wasn't much for us to do at the time both me and her took alternating shifts, Visha would be on look out from sunrise to sunset and I would be on look out from sunset to sunrise.

Reason being is that my eyes sight is actually better at night than Visha's but that's a bit more due to getting most of my powers back by now as back then thanks to Being X granting me better eyesight when I was meant to pray to his name.

But thanks to the mettling of Being D and my leader I have no intention of ever worshiping that dumbass god, so now I have all the benefits of his aid with none of the downsides, so I really do owe it to Vargas for summoning us here, even if it was by chance.

But as I said nothing happened for a few days as everything went like as normal, that is until we came across our first pirate ship.

Now standard procedure is to chase them down and when we are close enough tell them to stop and surrender, but instead of running away this pirate crew did the opposite and came towards us.

"Captain! They appear to want a fight! Should we return in kind!" I shout down to the captain below, and this Captain was none other than Captain Hina, the woman who had helped Vargas deal with a previous Warlord by the name of Crocodile recently.

"Hmph…. They seem to take Hina's ship lightly, looks like will just have to take them down and bring them into custody, Men! Let's take these pirates down!" Hina says to the rest of her crew

"FOR THE MARINES!!!" The rest of the crew shout as they grab there weapons and prepare for battle, and soon enough when there within firing distance both of our ships begin to fire upon each other.

"Captain Hina, will you allow us to scout on ahead?" I say as both me and Visha come down from our perch by floating down to the ground.

Hina just stares at us for a minute before she nods, "Fine, you two are new recruits on Hina's crew, Hina wants to see what you two got since your so eager to prove yourselves."

"Yes ma'am!" I say as both me and Visha prepare our guns before running toward the ledge and jumping off before flying at high speeds to the enemy ship.

Now have you heard the term fish in a barrel before right? Well you could say that was what the enemy pirates were like to us for the most part.

Sure they could shoot back at us and they did, however we're both airborne and fast, and because of that they can't get a good shot in on us so the result was pretty obvious, though we didn't kill what looked like higher ranked members of there crew and mainly took out the ones maning there canons.

And soon after they were dealt with our ship approached there and soon after we boarded them, now if you were expecting a big fight or anything, your mistaken because the devil fruit Captain Hina had eaten basically makes her a walking jail cell as she instantly surrounded them in a cage like structure that bound them up within some iron bars as they came into contact with, and then they were taken back onto our ship.

Though after we had set there ship aflame, after confiscating there stolen goods, Hina decided to speak with us personally, "Hina is proud to call you a part of my crew, keep this up and soon enough I'll be able to put in an order to make you two move up the ranks, with your skills you two will easily reach the rank of Petty Officer in no time." Hina says with a nod of approval.

"But for now you two have earned yourselves a break, so for the rest of today and tomorrow off, dismissed."

"Yes Captain!" We saluted her before we decided to retire to our cabins for the night.

"This is gonna be a long mission Leader has given us…. He better give me a good reward at the end of all of this…." I say to myself before I blow out my candle and go to sleep for the night.
