What is she? An airhead?
Lami and Alex made their way to the fighting arena their heart pounding with anticipation as the arena came into view. The arena was filled with the noise of cheering crowds and the sound of clashing swords.
They were heading toward the registration station so that Alex could sign up for the fighting competition. However, as they were walking a young woman wearing nerdy glasses caught the attention of Alex as she stopped in her tracks.
The woman looked familiar to Alex however she couldn't remember where she had seen her before. Alex decided to approach her and strike up a conversation. Lami looked back at the young woman also recognising her from somewhere.
Before Alex came into contact with the woman she was surprised to see that the woman's clumsiness caused her to fall face-first into the ground and drop all the food she was carrying.
' Huh how clumsy can that woman be to fall after she stepped on her shoelaces,' thought Lami as they approached the fallen woman to help her stand on her feet. As they helped her up they remembered where she had seen the woman before, it was at the live performance last night.
With a jolt of excitement, Alex exclaimed, "You were performing at the live performance last night! Why do you look like this now?" The woman looked up to Alex with a shocked expression since someone can recognize her.
" Keep your voice down," the woman whispered. " I don't want to draw attention towards me," she added. " I see please do forgive us we didn't mean to cause any trouble," replied Lami in a calming tone.
The woman sighed in relief and introduced herself as Amelia. Alex and Lami exchanged introductions with Amelia and they found out that she will not be participating in the fighting tournament as she was only a spectator.
"That's surprising I thought someone with your devil fruit will enter the competition," said Lami as she walked with the girls towards a food stall as they wanted to eat before the competition.
" How did you know I have a devil fruit?" asked Amelia as she eyed Lami with suspicion. " You used it during your show remember or are you dumb enough to even forget that?" asked Lami as she turned toward Amelia.
Amelia felt a bit embarrassed as she laughed it off," Oh I did? I must have forgotten that I use it during the show," she replied as she was stroking her head.
' What the hell is she? An airhead?,' thought Lami as they reached the food stall and ordered their meals. As they sat down to eat the most unexpected event occurred as Amelia dropped her food again causing Alex and Lami to worry about this girl's clumsiness.
" I'm so sorry you had to witness that, it usually happens from time to time," said Amelia as she acted like she is used to it.
' Usually? How does she even function in her daily life?' thought Lami and Alex as they exchanged a glance. Despite her clumsiness, the girls found Amelia to be a friendly and pleasant person to be around with.
As they finished eating Lami informed Amelia that they were heading toward the arena and invited her to come along to watch the fights. " Really? I would love to come and watch the fights with you guys," replied Amelia excitedly as she made plans to also watch the fights however she had no one to watch with.
" Great you can watch me fight and cheer me on," said Alex with a smile as they made their way toward the arena.
Alex registered as a participant in the fighting tournament and the three girls found seats among the crowd to watch the fights. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the fighters entered the arena with their weapons ready to begin the first round.
The tournament was divided into different 4 slots of battle royale where the strongest will advance to the finals. Alex was drafted in the second slot so now she was currently seating amongst the crowd with Lami and Amelia.
The first round ended with a few surprises as some underdog fighter emerged victorious making the crowd cheer and shout in excitement. " Good luck out there," spoke Lami as Alex was getting ready to enter the arena for her round.
" Thanks, I'll do my best," replied Alex as she left to enter the arena. " Will she be alright in there?" asked Amelia with a concerned look.
" Don't worry Alex is a skilled fighter she knows what she is doing," Lami reassured Amelia as she was worried about her new friend. " I hope she doesn't get strong opponents," added Amelia as she was scanning the other fighters.
As Alex was standing in the arena she could feel her heart racing with adrenaline as she waited for the bell to ring signaling the start of the fight. She looked around trying to spot her first opponent as this was a battle royale meaning multiple opponents would be fighting at the same time.
*ding* *ding* *ding* The roar of the crowd filled the arena as the bell signaled the start of the round and Alex quickly sprung into action, scanning the area for any movement. She managed to sport two opponents charging at her at the same time.
One of her opponents was a huge guy wielding a heavy club while the other was a nimble girl wielding dual swords. Alex could tell this is going to be a hard fight however she was determined to come up on top.
With quick thinking and agility, Alex evaded the club strike and countered with a swift kick on the back of the guy's knee causing him to stumble forward. As the guy stumbled the nimble girl saw an opening she slashed her swords toward Alex.
Alex dodged the swords with a backflip and countered with her attack which made the girl back off. The crowd went wild as they watched the intense and exciting battle unfold.
Lami and Amelia were cheering loudly as they watched Alex successfully defend herself against her opponents. ' Her fighting style is similar to that tiger guy from her guards', Lami thought as she was analyzing Alex's move.
" Is dodging the only thing you are good at?" taunted the nimble girl as she charged toward Alex. " Watch me b*tch," replied Alex as she dodged yet again and countered with a combo of punches that sent the girl flying across the arena.
' Those punches were lightning-fast however her martial arts rely heavily on strength and power not speed,' thought Lami as she was now coming up with a training plan in her head to help Alex improve her strength and power in her martial arts.
Amelia was impressed by Alex as she watched her take down her opponent. " Wow! Alex is amazing, she's so skilled and quick on her feet," exclaimed Amelia. " That's true however she lacks the brute force needed to overpower her opponents," added Lami.
The battle royale continued as Alex charged toward the man with the club determined to take him down. With a fierce look, Alex lunged forward and she delivered a fast kick to the man's stomach, causing him to stagger backward.
" You're gonna need more power than that girly," taunted the man as he regained his balance. Alex smirked, " There's plenty more where that came from," she replied confidently as she charged at the man again.
The crowd cheered as the battle went on, Alex showing no signs of backing down. With every move she made, she showed that she was not only skilled but also able to strategize as the fight went on.
As the fight went on Alex charged at her opponent with high speed hoping to take him down. Her opponent caught her off guard and landed a heavy blow that sent her crashing to the ground with a thud. The crowd gasped as they watched Alex hit the ground.
However, Alex stood up again refusing to give up. ' That guy packs a punch, sadly it's still no match for Captain Tigru," thought Alex as she shrugged off the hit and readied herself for the next exchange of fists.
Lami watched closely and took mental notes of Alex's strengths and weaknesses as she fought. With each move that Alex made Lami was making mental notes of what areas need improvement.
The fight went on as Alex continued to battle fiercely she soon came out on top defeating the man with a club and scanning for a new opponent to challenge. Amelia and Lami cheered on as she was victorious in her battle.
Alex turned to the other opponents only to see that one fighter was left and he was charging toward her. She quickly got back into her fighting stance ready to face the new challenger, determined to show her skills once again and prove her worth in the last fight of the battle royale.
" Don't go getting cocky just because you took out a few opponents," said the figure as he lunged forward. Alex remained focused and agile as she dodged his attacks, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike back with her own set of powerful moves.
" Hold up! Isn't that last year's champion Lock Zhi?!" exclaimed the crowd as they recognize the man. " If I remember correctly he's skilled in hand-to-hand combat and has won 3 of the past competitions" exclaimed one of the spectators.
Undeterred by the reputation of her opponent Alex continued to engage the champion and come out on top. With grit and determination, she charged at Lock Zhi ready to take down any challenge ahead.
The crowd roared as they watched two of the most skilled fighters in the royale go head-to-head each displaying unique fighting abilities. Alex's quick reflexes and improvisation allowed her to gain an advantage over Lock Zhi, but he was no pushover either.
Despite the champions' experience and reputation Alex kept her cool and kept fighting with a strategy. With each exchange, Alex saw gaps in his defense and was able to exploit she sent a powerful punch to Lock Zhi who stumbled back in response.
' This is it,' Alex thought to herself, seeing an opening in Lock Zhi's stance. She took her chance and went in for the final blow, delivering a powerful combination of punches and kicks that sent Lock Zhi flying.
The crowd was shocked as they watched their champion fall and be defeated at the hands of a new and unknown contender.
" The winner of the second slot is Alex!" shouted the announcer as the crowd erupted in applause and joy. Alex had proved herself as a skilled fighter, overcoming all odds and defeating the champion of the fighting tournament.
Elsewhere in the North Blue a young man and his guards landed on a Kingdom and they came across the royal army who were doing patrol.
The young man pointed his finger at one of the soldiers and spoke," You there I demand you take me to see my fiancée".
The soldier hesitated but the young man guards stepped up behind him and they drew their swords flashing them in the sunlight. "Please do forgive me Prince Endo the princess has run away from home with a stranger," explained the soldier.
" Nani? Ran away, stranger? What is your stupid King planning to do to bring her back?" Prince Endo asked, his voice filled with anger.
" The King said that if the Princess left on her own accord then he does not want to force her to stay where she doesn't want to be," the soldier answered.
" I see that means we are going to war with this Kingdom if I don't marry the Princess, that was the agreement," Prince Endo said in a serious voice making the soldiers gulp in fear.
" Tell your King that he must prepare for war," stated Prince Endo as he moved toward the castle.
