Chapter - 9 Bashes v/s lafitte

Bashas: "Are you here for a challenge?"

Bashas scanned the three individuals, then turned to look at Luca, who led them.

Luca: "I've come to invite you to join my pirate crew."

"If you win, I will give you a million Berry's."

"But If you lose, you join me and become a crew member of my king's pirate."

Bashas suddenly became interested. As someone who relished fighting, he couldn't refuse Luca's proposal of a million berry.

"Boy, fight me! I'm Bashas the undefeated, and I won't lose."

"Bring it on! Weihahahaha..."

With those words, he charged like an arrow, aiming directly at Luca, his massive fist clenched, a wild look in his eyes.

As Bashas rushed towards him, Lafitte stood up and said, "Captain Luca, leave this to me!"

Glancing at Lafitte, Luca decided to entrust the fight to him.

Bashas glanced at the person stepping up to fight him and laughed, "Weihahaha!"

"You joker face, you are gonna fight me weihahaha"

Lafitte twirled the scepter in his hand, revealing a staff knife.

He struck out at Bashas.

Initially unfazed by the fair-skinned clown villain, Bashas soon realized Lafitte was formidable.

Boom!

The battle commenced!

Bashas: "Weihahaha You're quick!"

Bashas launched continuous attacks, yet Lafitte skillfully evaded each blow.

"You're not bad yourself!"

"Unfortunately, you're no match for me!" Lafitte engaged in multiple exchanges with Bashas.

Bashas' combat prowess was already gauged by lafitte.

However, despite Bashas' strength, he wasn't a match against lafitte at all.

Bashas frowned at this realization, intensifying his strikes.

The entire arena witnessed Bashas, known for his victories, struggling against his opponent.

Cappon beeg took a puff of his cigarette and remarked, "Captain Luca, our new crew members seem quite impressive!"

Based on the battle, Cappon beeg himself didn't exude much confidence in defeating Bashas. Lafitte's unexpected strength and manuvers had surprised him too.

Cappon beeg then inquired, "Who will win in the end, Lafitte or the big man?"

From the ongoing battle, Bashas seemed to hold the advantage, with Lafitte mostly on the defensive.

Seeking clarification due to his uncertainty, cappon beeg asked.

"He is Not Lafitte's opponent," replied Luca plainly.

Cappon beeg stared, beginning to form some conjectures. Upon hearing Captain Luca's affirmation, he understood that Lafitte was a at master concealing his strength, surpassing even Cappon beeg in power.

As the fight continued, Bashas started feeling overwhelmed by Lafitte.

He had intended to teach these three a lesson, yet he didn't expect to lack the confidence to defeat even one of them, let alone their leader.

The man leading them seemed immeasurable now.

It appeared today was an unexpected challenge for Bashas.

Suddenly, Lafitte spread his wings.

Bashas: "A Devil Fruit ability user You sly guy, I didn't anticipate you being a devil fruit user."

Spectators in the arena were astounded. Among the Four Seas, Devil Fruit ability users were exceedingly rare. Witnessing one using it was as rare as a blue moon.

With Lafitte activating his Devil Fruit ability, Bashas found himself increasingly outmaneuvered. Even with his immense power, he couldn't land a hit on Lafitte, rendering his efforts futile.

When Bashas swung his fist towards Lafitte's face, Lafitte effortlessly dodged and counterattacked with his knife, leaving a gash several tens of centimeters deep on Bashas' chest, causing blood to gush out.

"Surprisingly, Bashas, the undefeated champion of our arena, has been defeated outright."

Kneeling with heavy breaths, Bashas, though unwilling, admitted, "I never thought I'd be defeated by someone like you."

Even though he wished to continue, Bashas knew he had lost, especially with more formidable individuals on the opposing side yet to fight.

Lafitte held his hat with a left hand, stroking it, and said, "it was a good fight I enjoyed it. As per our agreement earlier, you'll join our Kings Pirates."

"The person over there is the captain of our crew. Let me warn you; don't harbor ill intentions."

"Because if that happens, not only will Captain Luca eliminate you, I will too."

Lafitte issued a stern warning to Bashas.

The implication was clear: theirs no room for a snake , only loyalty is expected .

Slowly standing up, Bashas remarked, "It seems I've no choice!"

"Weihahaha!"

"If I weren't powerful, I wouldn't be worthy of Bashas, the fighting champion, joining me."

Despite his recent defeat, Bashas remained proud.

Lafitte smiled and said, "Then welcome to the King's Pirates."
