One of us Has to be The Villain
Magic is an enigmatic force, bestowing upon humankind abilities beyond the ordinary, capable of reshaping the world for either better or worse. Within the revered Whitehaven Palace, the crucible where heroes are forged, the art of wielding magic takes precedence as their primary arsenal, with the noble intention of transforming the world into a utopia. However, despite these valiant efforts, the insidious nature of evil and villainy persists, an enduring dichotomy. It's an unyielding truth that in this realm, one must invariably assume the role of the antagonist, for the equilibrium between malevolence and benevolence is integral to the sustenance of this world. Hence, the perennial question arises: who shall bear the mantle of villainy this time? In this intricate tapestry of existence, a world devoid of villains paradoxically renders heroes ineffectual. For it is within the clash between hero and villain that the essence of heroism truly shines. Without the opposing force of villainy, the purpose of heroes dwindles into insignificance, underscoring the undeniable symbiosis between these antithetical entities. [Easy English version of the synopsis incase you did not understand the main one!] Magic is a mysterious power that gives people extraordinary abilities, letting them change the world in good or bad ways. In the Whitehaven Palace, where heroes are made, using magic is really important. The goal is to make the world a perfect place. But even with these good efforts, bad things still exist. This is a never-ending balance between good and evil. In this world, someone always has to be the bad guy because both good and bad are needed to keep things going. So, who will be the bad guy this time? In this complex world, if there were no bad guys, heroes wouldn't be able to do much. The clash between heroes and villains is what shows true heroism. Without bad guys, heroes don't really have a purpose, showing how they both need each other in a surprising way. [Side Note] updates are from Saturday to Wednesday, there will be no updates from Thursday to Friday---i might edit some draft chapters and updates them on Thursdays (sometimes though)
Ch:3 Lesson one
The door opened after Felix answered the question, and his friends were all excited to get inside the room and when they did, a woman around her 40s showed up which they assumed that she was the mistress behind the door who was asking them the question
"I'm glad that you answered your last question correctly and will have a change to complete the 1st lesson of today" the woman said the team while they weren't fully paying attention, they were busy looking around the big room they were in observing and scanning it left and right, the room have two Large windows at the very end and the windows were locked, and there's a big table with seven chairs in the middle of the room and the distance between each two chairs is very far and there's some weird equipments that looked like chemistry lab equipments, and in the middle of the table were 7 rocks, the woman observed the team before saying
"alright team, your 1st lesson is turning rocks into crystals, I'll get going now, good luck" the woman said leaving the room then Sebastian asked her "where are you going mistress? and who's gonna teach us?" The woman turned her head back and smiled at them warmly saying "figure out yourself" and she left the room without any other explanations or further clarification
"are we for real learning something in this do it yourself of a Academy?" Luke asked the group which was confused and didn't know what they're supposed to do, and then they heard a lock sound and turned to the door wishing its not from the door but it was, as they went closer to the door checking if someone locked the door, a paper got swiped under the door which Theo noticed and take to read it out loud which said "there's 7 rocks in the table and I want them 7 crystals, use the equipments and the books you see around you and turn them to 7 crystals, remember you only have 6 hours starting from now and if you fail, you won't get out of this room alive, keep In mind, Be a hero or die"
The whole team was shocked especially felix, then Freya said "what do they mean by die? are they gonna kill us or something?" nobody answered her question as they were all thinking of what could possibly happen if they did not do their task in the given time and then Eloise spoke up saying "guys, we have no time remember?, we need to get to work right now"
the team divided themselves and they started with the books as the books in the shelf where 80 books but something was strange, none of the books at a title which obviously was hard and complicated as they have to go through all these book with the same covers but no title and figure out which book will help them do their task, they
started to read and scan as many books as they could hoping that they'll find the right book among all of these books, after looking for the book for 3 hours straight and they thought they'll lose hope, they finally found the book and Luke did find the book when he suddenly jumped with excitement chanting " I found the book, here are the instructions" and the team looked at him and finally their faces led up, but their smiles faded away as soon as they saw some weird characters that resembled the Chinese characters, and something even weirder they noticed that the characters where written in an order according to their colors and each character was written in a color, then they started to think again and see what can they possibly do since they did not understand a bit of what was written in the book
then Rae left the area near the shelf were her friends were and she went to the big table and she sat on a chair and she started to look closely at the ingredients and the other equipments that the mistress told them to use and she noticed that there's 14 different bottles with each bottle having a liquid inside and each liquid was a specific color, then she remember that the characters was written in colors then she ran back to were her friends were and snatched the book out of felix's hand looking again into the book to see the characters being 14 with some of the characters being the same colours as the bottles when she realised that they're finally getting into something, she ran back to the table and her friends followed her in curiosity as they all sat on the chairs she put the book in the middle and started explaining what she found out "you see guys, here are 14 bottles with colorful liquid and in the book there's 14 characters with the same colours as the bottles but they're written in an order, so what could that possibly mean?" She asked them as her friends looked at her curiously and finally things started to make sense
"so should we mix up these ingredients according to the characters? and their colors?" Luke asked which they all agreed on because there wasn't any other way, then Rae pointed at a cauldron at the corner of the hall with woods beside it and said "alright guys let's now get into work, Theo and Luke you guys have to light the fire so that we can use the cauldron and Felix, Sebastian and I will mix the ingredients and Freya and Eloise go bring Rocks, and they all started to work on as Luke and theo started to light the fire using the woods and some candles
"alright, Felix what should we do 1st?" Rae asked felix and he weren't paying that much of a attention to her as he was busy looking into the book and the characters And then he grabbed a bottle of a red liquid inside and he looked closely at the bottle observing it then he saw something written at the bottom of the bottle it was something that looked like a character then he looked back at the book to see the "green written character" being the one for the red liquid bottle
alright guys you see this green character is written on the red bottle, then they started to think more and they decided to pour the liquids in the cauldron According to the characters and after that the fire was ready and so the rocks, Sebastian grabbed a huge wooden spoon and started to mix the mixture, after that they decided to throw the rocks in the boiling cauldron, "Sebastian keep on mixing" Felix said after mixing the mixture 30 minutes they put the cauldron down and started to take out the rocks that eventually became crystals, "so proud of you guys, now we made it" Sebastian said when Eloise smiled at him proudly saying "we're not dying anytime soon" and the others gasped at what she said then Luke started to laugh
they waited for the mistress and suddenly she appeared out of nowhere the way the headmaster did before, she did not say anything at the 1st, she only observed the situation and the team then said "I'm so proud and happy that you guys survived this lesson, congratulations now its time for lunch" after saying that Felix replied to her saying "What do you mean survived?" Which she replied to him "you know not everyone is as smart as your team" and Sebastian responded "do you mean the teams who failed are...." and he couldn't continue the question as the mistress interrupted him saying "yes exactly, dead"
the team members exchanged looks with their eyes wide open, when the mistress said "don't worry guys, you're safe, your lesson is over, now have lunch and get rest and be ready for your 2nd lesson" after she said that she disappeared again then they heard the door being unlocked
