Chapter Twenty-seven:

The door swung open and Maya walked in followed by Damian. Amber stole a quick glance and Damian and he didn't look pleased at all.

"Guess What Amber," Maya smiled.

"What?" Amber asked with a questioning gaze but deep down she was strangling Maya to death.

"Damian and I agreed to let you with us for sometime," Maya said grinning widely.

'Well that was easy,' Amber chuckled inwardly.

"I'm doing this because of my wife," Damian said shooting Amber a nasty glare.

"I understand but you don't need to worry yourself," Amber said holding Maya's hands in hers.

"I don't want to be burden on you. In fact I've caused you so much trouble in the past and I don't want to do that again."

"Don't say that Amber. Circumstances led you to do certain things so you don't have to hold it against yourself. Let's leave the past in the past and move on," Maya smiled.

"But....."

"No buts Amber. You're moving in with us and we're going to protect you from that monster."
