Chapter 13
“If you wanted to hug me that much, you could have told me using your words. I wouldn’t have minded at all.”
Sterling was stunned. He had heard those exact words before…
“Wayne, stop it. I’m ticklish,” James shouted while chortling as Wayne and he rolled around in the garden. Eventually, they stopped. Wayne was lying on top of James. “If you wanted to hug me that much, you could have told me using your words. I wouldn’t have minded at all.”
Then James huffed and winked at Wayne, who leaned in for a kiss. However, the sound of the front door opening and banging close startled them, and they got to their feet in a hurry. They separated just in time for John, James’s father, to walk into the garden through the sliding door…
“Sterling!” Zeke exclaimed, squeezing Sterling’s right shoulder.
He gazed into Zeke’s eyes. “Yeah. Sorry. I spaced out for a bit.”
Zeke had a concerned expression. “Is something bothering you?”
