Chapter Six

Titus's POV:

I looked behind me to check on Quin but only saw an annoying grin on their face. It was a face they usually wore when they would catch me acting like a "brother."

I rolled my eyes and turned to face the random lady that was still arguing with us. The police were trying to calm her down in a non-physical way but that wasn't working. Quin could use their magic in this situation to get her away but there are humans around.

I noticed Rin was getting nervous from all the screaming.

When the lady looked in a different direction to start yelling at a cop, I rushed over to her and bent her arms behind her back with one hand so she couldn't move them and I pushed her against the wall with my other hand crushing her head. She shut up then but now had fear in her eyes.

"That's my Tidy-Widy Tit! Beat her ass!" I heard Quin shout from behind me. I mentally face palmed and shot them a glare in the corner of my eye. They just looked at me back and continued to cheer me on even though I wasn't doing anything.

A few cops finally came over and took the lady from my hands. They put cuffs on her and brought her into a different room but the struggle and yelling were still evident. I looked around to find where Quin ended up and found them sitting on the floor, distracted by a blank piece of paper they found. I sighed and walked over to them. I bent down and looked at them like they were a child.

"Quin, how long has it been since you've taken your ADHD meds?" I asked. Quin lifted their head with an obvious guilty look.

"I took them today." They answered dishonestly. They gave a fake smile with a thumb's up to help with their act. I sighed and walked over to the desk where Leer was sitting at.

"Do you have my bag?" I asked. Leer instantly pulled my bag out from underneath the desk and threw it at me. I caught it and was opening it while walking over to Quin. I kept a spare copy of Quin's meds with me in case they forget to take them or just don't take them at all. It technically is illegal but I'm doing it to help.

I through the ADHD meds at Quin and they caught them. They popped one of the pills into their mouth and swallowed it. They through it at me with a 'hmph' and folded their arms while looking away from me.

"Thank you!~" I rang out to Quin. They simply just glared at me but got off the floor. I walked over to a chair so I could check to see what I had in it but before I could, Quin jumped up on my back. I sighed, again, and let them do their childish antics.

Instead of sitting in a chair, I stood by the wall while Quin was still on my back. I looked through my bag and I still had everything in it. I zipped it closed and walked over to Leer again.

"Me and Quin are going to head out. But you'll see me soon." I informed. Leer simply nodded with a wave goodbye. Before Leer could lower his hand, Quin gave him a high five. I put my hand over my mouth so I wouldn't laugh but it didn't work.

Leer stood up with a sigh and reached over to ruffle Quin's hair. Quin giggled in response. "No matter how old you are, you are still a fricken child," Leer said, "but stay that way."

We waved goodbye while exiting the building and turned right, onto the sidewalk.

"Are you going to get down at all?" I asked, slightly looking over my shoulder at Quin. They shook their head and patted their hands on my chest.

"Nope! I like it up here!" Quin responded cheerfully. I nodded and continued walking.

"Fine by me,"

Ezra's POV:

It feels like I've been in this bed for hours. Robin has been in my room a couple of times since I first met them and each time they brought me something to eat and drink.

I still have a hard time believing that Quin made me the room I was currently in. I just met them not that long ago so how could they have done it in such a quick time. I knew they had magic but it couldn't be powerful enough to make a room.

For most of my life I didn't even believe in magic until I met Quin. I would have thought this was a dream but the pain was defeintly there so it couldn't have. Though a talking bird that can hear me speaking even when I don't hear my own voice is also still trying to convince me that this was a dream. A bad one.

I flinched at the familiar light, almost unhearable, knock. Robin came in with flying dishes of food for the 4th time today. Another reason why this is as dream.

But clearly Robin knew how to take care of more than just birds. They knew exactly when I got hungry, knew when I woke up from a nap. Heck, they knew when I needed a nap.

"Hello Ezra!" Robin greeted, landing on the bed as well as the dishes. I could smell the amazing food from underneath the dome cover. There were two of them in total. They each came off and revealed the stunning food. The plate to my left held a medium rare cooked steak on the left top corner of the plate and below it was a small portion of white rice.

On the entirety of the other side of the plate was some lettuce with different sorts of vegetables.

On the other plate to my right was a bowl of mashed potatoes and a strawberry-banana smoothie.

I had already healed up enough to stand out of the bed but no further than that. I sat up and moved my hands to grab the plates. I wasn't used to eating this much so I mostly forced the food down my throat, no matter how much I didn't want to.

"If you don't want to eat you don't have to," Robin's voice pitched in, "I apologize for being pushy on your appetite. I just simply want you to get better soon!"

"It's okay, I understand. I know I'm frail and skinny for my age. I do enjoy the food you bring me and it's nice to have someone care. But just the three basic breakfast, lunch, and dinner is fine by me." I explained.

Robin nodded with a chirp and kept me company for the rest of the evening until I fell asleep again.
