Surrounded

"Dane Sherlock's words may have been doubted, but hear me now: I am Dragovic Drake, the son of your Alpha. Drake, the mighty dragon God. I shall confidently lead you forward, guiding our path until we discover a secure haven beyond this realm."

Dragovic's words prompted a gasp from the group of survivors, but unlike last time, they didn't doubt much.

"So the rumors were true" Mia whispered in a voice of disbelief, her mouth was agape open in shock.

"Here I am thinking I was talking to my fellow human" she added.

Without any further Ado, they proceeded in the direction of the realm door, the only way out of this realm.

The day had begun to break, and the group was not willing to waste more time lest the bronze armored buffalo herd group up and come after them again.

A day and a half passed, Fred had woken up and he was in disbelief when Mia told him that the leader of the group was Dragovic. He didn't retort or try to take over the leadership seat from Dragovic, because he owed Dragovic one. If not for Dragovic, he would have been stumped by the rampaging herd of bronze-armoured buffaloes herd. would have been turned to mashed meat, his scales and bones might not be able to provide defense if he is repeatedly crushed by the hoofs and under the monstrous weight of the Bronze armored buffaloes.

He stole a glance at Dragovic whose face remained stoic and sighed, bowing at Dragovic he said, "Thank you for saving my life despite the circumstances"

As the leader, Dragovic could've easily told the dragon that was carrying Fred to drop him to prevent Fred because of the liability Fred has become, but he didn't. So, while he didn't heroically carry Fed on the way, this still counts as him saving Fred.

Meanwhile, they traveled mundanely, if only their energy hadn't drained off, things would have been much easier. They would have been many times faster than their current speed, the fact that they were so tired that their walking was a drag only made things hard.

But it didn't matter anymore, because now, their only way to the outside world, the realm door was right in front of them

*****

The group of survivors stood in front of the towering realm door, its ethereal surface shimmering with an otherworldly glow. As they exchanged glances filled with a mix of hope and trepidation, the door revealed intricate carvings resembling ancient runes.

With a collective breath, the first survivor cautiously approached the door. As he reached out, the door responded to their touch, resonating with a harmonious hum. The once solid surface rippled like water, transforming into a swirling portal in the shape of a majestic doorframe.

One by one, the survivors stepped through the portal, each disappearing into the unknown with a blend of anticipation and determination. The realm door exhibited a subtle dance of colors, adapting to the essence of each individual. Some hesitated before crossing, casting glances back at the realm they were leaving behind.

As the others passed through the portal, Dragovic sighed and walked towards the portal.

His hands were clenched into fists, his heart thumping wildly.

Outside the realm door is the Galaxy, the realm door is the only way outside from the realm. And the Dragon Realm itself is just a pocket space inside the Galaxy.

Outside now, where countless races, most of them would surely be against the last survivors of the dragon race and would want to finish them off especially now the dragon race is at its weakest. Such circumstances are a huge challenge that Dragovic would face as the leader of the group. If he is not careful enough, he might end up leading the group to doom.

Canceling all these disturbing thoughts, Dragovic took in a deep breath and walked right through the portal.

As he is the last person, after he enters the portal, the realm door closes with a muted echo, leaving behind a serene silence in the realm.

The survivors found themselves on the other side, what they saw prompted their hearts to palpate out of shock and worry.

Even Dragovic was shaken, he was expecting something like this to happen, but he didn't expect it to happen so soon. His eyes twitched as he let out a low grunt of frustration.

In the vastness of space, Dragovic, stood with other survivors, their faces reflecting shock. Ahead, a fleet of thirty spaceships formed a blockade, trapping them with no way out. At the forefront loomed a massive mother ship, dwarfing the others. Emblazoned on its hull in bold letters was the declaration "Royal Elves,"

Dragovic and the group looked at the words for a few minutes, the urgency of the situation dawning upon them.

The group turned to look at Dragovic with a sense of urgency in their gaze.

"We should esca..." Mia yelled out, panic plastered on her face.

"Don't dare" Dragovic glared at her, interrupting her before she could finish whatever it was she wanted to say.

The rest of the group's gaze suddenly became questioning, they couldn't just surrender without doing anything.

"Don't you see it, our strength is gone, the ball isn't in our court. We have to wait and bid our time, and we can only do so by surrendering. Once we have recovered from the mist's strange effect, only then will fighting be an option" Dragovic said, in a low authoritative voice.

His gaze landed on the words "Royal Elves" again.

"Royal Elves huh?" He muttered with a grin.

He found this situation very funny because the elves were once on the Dragon's side.
