Knowing each other

The group watched, and within seconds, the rampaging bulls caught up.

"Watch out!" The human yelled out at the dragons still watching Dragovic, while seemingly lost in their thoughts.

She had held on to the horn of a buffalo that attacked her, and it yanked her forward and tried to shake her off from its horn. She mimicked Dragovic, clinging to the buffalo's back to the best of her abilities.

She made sure to hold the Buffalo's horn with one because without doing that, she would definitely get flung away with one vigorous and frenzied shake from the buffalo. She was like a stubborn leech, though she almost slipped a few times, but she managed to get back her hold.

The rest of the group were shaken out of their reverie and quickly followed suit. Utilizing what they just watched to the best of their abilities.

All these combined increased the chaos caused to the herd.

Unfortunately, the human got grazed on the side of her stomach by one buffalo. Her clothes were torn traveling the burning bruise inside.

The buffaloes were infuriated, even with their bloodline activated at full force, they couldn't get their target. It was as if the target had already memorized all their weakness.

The entire herd was now running helter-skelter in all directions, they had lost their sense of direction, and the attacking buffalo stopped, giving the group a breather. The reason why they stopped was their sense of foreboding which only comes up when the herd is in disarray as it is now.

Multiple bellows could be heard as the part of the herd already grouped, tried to call back the other buffaloes to regroup with the herd.

With the group following Dragovic's lead, they all came down from their respective Buffaloes and dodged one attack before going to meet up with the others.

The entire place was chaotic, but the group was able to meet up.

Now, that they have escaped the formation of the buffaloes and are no longer surrounded escaping from the herd won't be too hard.

"Where's Fred?" Dragovic asked at the group gathered before him.

Even without him or them saying anything, it's clear that the leadership position is all his.

If not for him, they wouldn't have survived the buffaloes' ambush, it was obvious that he had the experience, so the group didn't mind him taking the position of the leader.

The group reply was negative, signaling that no one knew where he was, and there's a high chance that he had been killed by the rampaging bulls.

"Let's go, we have no time to waste..."

...

"WAIT!" a desperate yell could be heard from the surrounding mist.

Dragovic's fierce eyes looked in a certain direction, a minute later, a limping dragon could be seen emerging into view.

The tip of his trailhead had been cut off, it looked as if it had been bitten off by something with sharp teeth.

It was Fred, his entire figure was covered with blood, and the scales in his humanoid body, which usually glistened making him look majestic, were filled with scratches, Just like a human lady, he also had a graze to the side of his stomach, probably gotten from a buffalo horn.

Reaching the group, he gasped out loud in relief before slumping down to the ground.

'The most effect is just so powerful, even with such grievous injuries, he normally should be able to keep on going' Dragovic thought to himself as he spectated this.

"Fred!" one of the dragons close to free yelled and quickly came close, catching free before he fell.

The dragon carried Fred with his two arms and then walked back to the group.

"We move out now, who is familiar with the route to the realm door?" Dragovic asked out loud to the group behind.

"I am" a dragon spoke and moved forward to meet up with Dragovic.

"Your name?"

"Grimlock Shadowspire"

"Lead the way forward, I will follow you closely just in case"

Grimlick nodded and increased his pace.

Behind him, the rest of the dragons introduced themselves

"Drakor Ironheart"

"Thorne Emberclaw"

"Ragnar Stormscale"

"Gideon Frostfang"

"Kaldor Flamebreath"

"Voltaire Thunderclaw"

"Azrael Wyrmhammer"

"Falkor Ironsoul"

"Magnus Darkfire"

"Voss Blackscale"

"Garrick Stonewings"

"Zephyr Steelclaw"

"Balor Emberforge"

"Dane Sherlock"

"Torin Stormrider"

"Ryker Scalebane"

"Thrain Emberstorm"

"Mia Seraphina"

They totaled 19 except for Dragovic and Fred of course, and as they introduced themselves, Dragovic made sure to take note of all their names, especially The human lady who revealed her name as Mia Seraphina, he was extremely wary of her. Though she acted normal, there was something about her that he found hard to point out. But she seemed to be extremely mysterious as if she had many dangerous secrets left untold.

Meanwhile, after they've all said their names, it turned out that some of them were well-known nobles of the realm, and some of them were low-class nobles before the disaster but none of that matters anymore.

They exchanged a few words with each other, while, they all masked their inner emotions with a stoic face, they have all suffered a great heartbreak, Losing many that were dear to them.

When they were done, they all looked at Dragovic. Their question was left unspoken, but Dragovic knew what they were waiting for.

He sighed...

The ending part was pretty boring to write, was it a boring read for you guys?
