Life. Death. And in Between.

Death.

A hauntingly beautiful melody, hidden amongst the revoltingly mundane cacophony of our existence, seducing us with a promise of freedom; beguiling us with but a glimpse of what could be, but as bewitching as that glimpse is, we do our utmost to resist.

For we know, that freedom is as attractive as it seems to be, but is as addictive as it is attractive; and so we continue our mind numbing, repetitive existence, living out our time on earth all while ignoring the sweet temptation of freedom, for as exciting and compelling balancing on the edge of a knife may be, she is the Yandere.

Hard to Please, Impossible to Touch, and Often Leads to Death.

You might wonder, how do I know that? Well, obviously from experience, and while a single glance from this fair maiden can lead to brushes with death, I may have as well as courted her with wild abandon.

What can I say, I like to live dangerously.

I was so addicted to the adrenaline pumping in my veins, that I voluntarily put myself in danger, and did all kinds of crazy stuff. Fight Clubs, Illegal Fighting Rings, Bar Fights, Street Racing, Ranking Matches, Gaming, Pokemon Card Battles, Parkour Races, you name it and I did it.

I lived for the thrill, and the thing which I loved the most? I did all this while keeping the guise of an ordinary guy.

Alexander Walters by day, an ordinary, humorous guy working at a large financial consultancy firm.

Aadi by night, bad boy extraordinaire, a self trained fighter, self proclaimed pro gamer, connoisseur of Anime, Comics and Light novels.

You might think that I was living the best of my life, and I indeed was. But like I said before, Death is a fickle mistress at best and the Yandere at worst, I found myself in her embrace one day, chasing the thrill until I finally slipped of the edge.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was an ordinary day, and I was at my workplace, going through the drudgery called work, doing absolutely average performance in my task while flirting with my colleagues (female, obviously) to pass the time. I had absolutely no motivation to put in any extra effort as I was holding on to this job to calm my parents down, as they wanted me to hold on to a secure job. I was earning enough to get by from my Alternate Persona - Aadi, but it was not exactly like I could disclose it entirely without either lying about it or getting them too suspicious. So, rather than lying I would keep mum about it.
 Where was I? Yeah, as I was fooling around, I was approached by my other male colleagues from the nearby cubicles about a party to be held that evening in a nearby bar. Not that I was very close to those guys or anything, but they wanted me to invite the female coworkers and affirm to their participation. Assenting to their request, I half heartedly shared their invite with the female staff, but they picking up on my perfunctory response claimed to have prior plans to avoid going to this party.
(And no, I am not a self absorbed asshole who thinks that the world revolves him. I know they had no plans because I had asked them, and I was on good terms with them. Though I am an asshole, I am self aware.)
With a wry smile on my face, I comforted the party giver- Ted, I think, or as I know him: Simp 1; before going back to my desk and started to look busy. And all this while, I was holding back the glee that was threatening to overcome my kind, wry smile and break out into a wide grin as I knew that I was going to get to watch a show that day.
I know for a fact that from another colleague that in the same venue, that very day, there was another party organized by another guy; whom I call : Simp 2; for the very same purpose. As you might have guessed, it was for the birthday of the girl they both were Simping over.
Calling in for the day and asking for a half day, I greeted my colleagues and made my way home for I had an evening to prepare for.
Plus, my Chaos Sense was tingling.
 Do you know how hard it is to get involved in fights? In the 21st century, it is almost impossible to get into fights without getting into trouble later. Cameras, Location Tracking, Face Recognition, and all such advancements make it pretty much impossible to get in trouble, or even if you are legally correct and act in self defense, to stay off record. Still, after years of practice and experience, I had honed my intuition to be cognizant of everyday occurrences which may possible lead to Chaos and Violence, which I aptly named Chaos Sense, after my relatively favorite comic book character's 'Spider Sense'. And this acquired Sense was ringing quite wildly for today's party. It would have been interesting even if I didn't know the actual reason today was going to be a shitstorm.
To keep it simple, both Simps were simping over a girl, but the girl is a bitch who stringed them along for close to two years now, and didn't even let them touch her but made them both her licking dogs. That, my dear is worthy of respect. This was not the first time such a situation had arisen, and though heated the matter was settled without raising arms.
But this time, it would be different. For I was here to fan the flames. And I was not doing it for the thrill. Okay, not JUST for the thrill. That bitch wronged me, a week prior she started rumors about me because she wanted to get my job for her brother, but my stellar but lazy persona squashed down the reliability of those rumors and my female colleagues convinced other of my innocence. Calm, soft spoken Alexander would never strike back, that's why, Aadi was gonna make a mess today.
Wearing a black leather jacket over a white shirt, I looked into the mirror of my apartment while thinking about my coworkers and what surprise I should give them today.
Black eyes, Black hair, Sharp features and a Rugged jawline. While Alex was handsome, his stooping posture, his softspoken voice, his nerdy glasses and shy demeanor made him cute and a different kind of attractive, appealing to the maternal instincts as something to be protected.
Whereas Aadi was almost his complete opposite. Charismatic, with a straight back which highlighted his height, and tight or form fitting clothes which brought out his lean but fit physique. Gone were the nerdy glasses and the shy, soft spoken demeanor, he was a heartthrob and he knew how to use it to get his way.
While I am aware that this sounds crazy and almost as if I have split personality, talking about my Personas in Third Person, but it is just me having fun and having segregated them on basis of timing and requirement.
Finally dressed up, I locked my apartment and made my way down the road, planning how and when I should unleash Chaos, unaware that all my actions were being observed, and my thirst for adrenaline would get me acquainted with death.
But yeah, not for the first time, and would also lead to the best decision of my life.
