A New Start

"Will you be okay, my dear?" Ella's mom asked her for the nth time.

"I'll be fine mom. Besides you will get to see me and I am here in this city. I am not leaving the country so you don't need to worry about me."

Ella's mother has been asking her this ever since Ella announced the news that her dream is to be an officer. To say her parents were shocked was an understatement. They outright rejected her but after much consideration and hearing Ella plead them; they agreed.

Ella knows that her parents don't want her to get hurt but Ella wanted them to understand that she is not a glass vase that can be broken. Ella was sure that she can get hurt but she won't be broken. Even if she fail, she is willing to rise again even if she has to fail again. Ella has long been determined not to give up until she reaches her goal.

She didn't had a goal before but she did have one now. Even if it's because of someone else's influence but it still belongs to her. She is determined to achieve her dreams and is ready to take on a challenge.

"You are such a big girl now! I'm very proud of you! I am very happy that you are going out of the way and setting an example out there. No one will consider you weak after this. You made Mamma so proud." her mom said, breaking her chain of thoughts.

"Mom, Dad, thank you. Thank you for supporting me and accepting my decision and my dream. I will be grateful to you forever. I know it was tough for you but you still supported me. I promise I will not let you down. I will miss you."

"We'll miss you too dear." 

They both hugged Ella. Her mom was in tears but was trying hard not to let them spill out. She knows full well that Ella is an emotional person. If she cried, Ella will cry too. Not waiting to embarrass herself, Ella took them to complete the formalities.

And after filling out the formalities, Ella bid her farewells to to her parents. Deep in her heart, Ella knew that it is going to be hard to live without her parents for the next four years.

After she couldn't see their car anymore, she moved toward the hostels. She arrived at the front desk for checking in the hostel.

Hostels were necessary for the students. They have to stay in the campus all the time and will only get evening off during weekends for relaxing and meeting their parents.

"Good morning, Miss, how may I help you?"

"I am new student here. I have to check in my room."

"Oh! What is your name?"

"Ella Delans"

"Wait a sec. Ah! Your room no is 105. It's on first floor. Take a right then there will be stairs to take you up. Have a good day."

"Thank you and you have a good day too."

Ella went as she was told. Moving towards right, she found stairs leading upward. She carried my luggage upstairs and began searching for her room.

She didn't had to search longer, she founded her room with ease.

She opened the room door and looked around. She realized it was a neat and tidy room with two beds on one side of room and a window on one of the wall. There were two study tables with study material and night lamps.

She sat my stuff down and started surveying the room. Everything here is for two people so she guessed that she is sharing her room with someone but judging from the untouched things and beddings, she knew that her partner isn't there yet as she didn't saw anyone or anything around.

She wander around another minute or so. Everything looked great there. The room is nice too. This room was perfect for her. It was just as she wanted. 

She just had today to settle down. Starting from tomorrow, it was the beginning of her new life. Her classes were going to  begin from tomorrow.

She felt very nervous and excited but she thought she will nail it. She will give her best.

"I will."

Ella thought in her heart

Ella woke up and saw the time. It was 5 in the evening. She got up and went to the bathroom to wash her sleep away. She was tired and fell asleep after she unpacked everything in the afternoon. Even though she didn't brought too many things with her but it still was too much to arrange.

She looked around and still saw no one in the room. She guess her room partner was not coming today. There weren't many girls there but she still will be paired with a girl, she was betting on that. 

Ella thought she should go downstairs to search for something to eat as she was hungry after all the work. She hoped she could get something to eat at this time. 

She moved toward the door. As soon as she touched the handle of the door, it opened itself from the outside. 

Ella stumbled backward from the shock. Before she could fall on the ground, she balanced herself. She do not want to look like a clown in front of someone who just came into her room.

After balancing herself and dusting off the invisible dust, she straightened up to see the person who just entered the room. She looked up and saw someone who she supposed is her roommate.

Her suspicion was proved right after, the person introduced themself.

"Hey"
