66 Chapter 66: Disappointment 1

Truthfully, Amy Shen had no plan to eat with alone or with her friend. She only said so because she did not want Shen Jun Shan to feel bad about letting her eat dinner alone.

The number of friends that Amy Shen had to accompany her to eat can be counted with one hand. She could either eat with Ling Qi, the cute manager from the company or Jin.

Shen Jun Shan seemed to be able to read her. That was why Amy Shen did not stop her brother from buying grocery for the house.

Amy Shen went to her room to binge-watched another drama, but her phone flashed because of an incoming call. The caller was Jin.

Jin invited Amy Shen to dinner together because, even though Qiao An was with her, something happened between them and they did not talk. Qiao An told Jin that she will eat dinner together with Shen Jun Shan and will let him be alone just like that.

Amy Shen found it funny how Jin complained about it to her. She could not wait to hear the rest of the details from Jin, so she agreed to the dinner.

Also, even though she said that Jin need not to tell her everything, Amy Shen was still curious about the beautiful lady they met in the restaurant.

Thinking about such a gorgeous lady, Amy Shen suddenly became self-conscious. The dull skin on her face, because she had an insufficient sleep and the dark eye bag she had, were not helping at all.

Amy Shen was sure everyone could appreciate a beautiful lady. With that in mind, she took the expensive skincare that Jin bought from City T for her and started putting a mask on her face.

"I am going to put this on and become slightly beautiful." Amy Shen lay on her bed with a good mood.

With this little effort, even though Amy Shen could not rival the goddess last time, at least she could put up some competition with her glowing skin.

Amy Shen felt that she should really thank Jin for the skincare. The skincare sets are expensive, and it worked on most people. She could not wait to show the result to Jin.

Wait, what?

Amy Shen jerked up. "I must be crazy." Why would she want to show the result to Jin? Jin is not her boyfriend, he will not care about such a thing?

Amy Shen felt her heart – her heart was beating slightly faster.

"It must be because I suddenly jerk up. My heart will calm down later." Amy Shen opened her laptop. "I should watch my drama and forget about it."

When it was around five, Amy Shen stopped watching her drama and got ready to go out for dinner. From the sound she heard from Shen Jun Shan's room, her brother was also in the middle of getting ready.

Amy Shen felt giddy as both of them seemed to get ready to go out for dinner. A few months ago, they had nothing except themselves. Now, her brother got herself a girlfriend, and while she was still single, at least Amy Shen had someone she could go out with.

Since Shen Jun Shan will be using the car, he will drop Amy Shen in the Misty Bar first and then he will go to pick up Qiao An from Jin's house. Because Jin lives quite far from there, Shen Jun Shan needed to move early.

That was why Amy Shen needed to get ready earlier too.

It was such a petty argument, but none of Jin or Qiao An would try to make amend first. Jin was disappointed because Qiao An did not tell him about Shen Jun Shan and Qiao An was mad because Jin seemed to had done something behind her back.

Even though what Jin did was probably not relevant anymore since it involved Qiao An's ex-boyfriend, Qiao An still found it aggravating that Jin did something without her knowledge previously.

Since they both came to the not talking phase, Jin invited Amy Shen to dinner. Last time he invited Amy Shen for dinner two days in a row, Amy Shen declined him saying that she had something going on.

Jin did not have a high expectation that Amy Shen will say yes, but she did. Amy Shen said yes, and Jin was quite pleased with himself.

Jin went to see the kittens and top up their food bowl. The kittens were slightly plumper than the first day Jin bought them to his house. They ate the wet food and the dry kibble well, but sometimes, the kittens will still suck Jin's finger.

Jin remembered the toy bought by Amy Shen in his room. He went to take the feather toy and played with the kittens.

"Your mom bought this for you to play so you should play happily. Snowy! Orange! Come, play with this." Jin talked to the kittens.

Whenever he thinks of Amy Shen as the kitten's mommy, his heart felt warm.

Jin played with the kittens for a while and went to his room after that. Since Qiao An was in her room too, Jin did not have anyone to talk to.

At 30 minutes after six, Shen Jun Shan arrived at Jin's house. Qiao An came out from her room to see Jin with a solemn face, sitting in the living room.

Shen Jun Shan came to the house to say hi to Jin and saw that Jin and Qiao An had a staring contest.

"Come back before ten or I lock the door."

The warning in Jin's word is evident. Shen Jun Shan did not know whether he wanted to laugh for Qiao An or pity her. Shen Jun Shan nodded and promised that he would take Qiao An home before ten.

Jin gave the new couple an intimidating look as they departed from there. Jin specifically waited for Shen Jun Shan to come so that he could sound him out.

Jin remembered that Amy Shen's lipstick was still with her. So he went to his room to pick up the lipstick when he received a call from Shirley Wang.

Shirley Wang wanted to eat dinner with him because she had to return to City T for emergency purpose. Jin tried to refuse her, but he remembered that he promised to go out to eat with Shirley Wang while she was still in City L.

Jin hates breaking promises, and since Shirley Wang is leaving tomorrow, then he figured out that this would be the only chance for him to keep his promise.

Not knowing that Amy Shen was already waiting for him in Misty Bar, he made a call to Amy Shen.

"Hi, Amy. Sorry to tell you this but can we postpone our dinner for today? I have things going on today. Something came up unanticipatedly, so I have to cancel dinner with you tonight. Is that okay?"

Amy Shen told Jin that it was alright and Jin should attend his important matter first. Jin kept on apologising, so Amy Shen felt terrible if she did not let him go.

After the phone call ended, Amy Shen felt lost of what to do.

Today she had her favourite dress on. She put on her makeup meticulously, and she even did her hair prettily.

Personally, she felt that she looked the prettiest when she curled up her hair but curling her hair every day is taking too much of her time, so she only did her hair when she had a special occasion.

Now that the dinner is cancelled, no matter how beautiful she looked tonight, it means nothing at all if she could not show it off to the person she wanted to show.
