'So?'

Veronica waited for him to speak. She tried not to think of what Tobirama had said before. They all knew that he couldn't be here for much longer. They just wanted to pretend that they didn't know of this. They wanted to dream for a little more.

They wanted to be selfish for just some more time.

[I think that it's time for you to get some real fighting experiences.]-Tobirama

That had the complete attention of both Veronica and Matatabi. Although Veronica was quite strong, for a Genin, she had almost no fighting experience except for defending herself and silent killing. She was only experienced in killing for having to kill off the black rabbit's enemies.

'Really? How will we be doing this though? I can't really showcase a lot of my jutsu, and let's not talk about fuinjutsu for that part.'

Veronica had a weary smile on her face as she thought about the time, she'd almost got caught practicing fuinjutsu. Luckily, she passed it off as her trying to copy storage seals she saw once and only got a very strict warning to not try it again.

'I do need to get stronger now that I've decided to get involved in all of this.'

That was something they all agreed with. Even though Matatabi had a vast knowledge of ninjutsu, or ninshu as she liked to call it fondly, she didn't exactly know how to answer any questions Veronica might have. Nor did she know the specifics of the jutsu.

'I also need to get more information. Also, couldn't Matatabi also do jutsu, Tobirama-san?'

[I think you're just obsessed over knowing everything now.]-Matatabi

Veronica frowned at the comment.

[Perhaps, she could. Although with her being a massive ball of chakra, it would be... difficult to say the least.]-Tobirama

'No, I am not! Data is essential you know. A weak human could defeat a strong monster if they had data. Data is the only reason society can grow. If I have information then I can easily help us both in situations out of our control.

Besides, we don't know what will happen after the series ends. You being a tailed beast and me being... A not so human person will be quite highly demanded you know.

And, why don't we start training Matatabi after things are more settled down?'

Veronica huffed a bit inside her mindscape. She could hear that Matatabi was a bit amused and shocked at Veronica.

[… You already figured it out? I'm surprised.

And sure, I don't mind training. Maybe I'll be able to teach my idiotic siblings a lesson.]-Matatabi

Matatabi's second statement was mostly ignored as Veronica's face showed seriousness and maturity that didn't suit a 12-year-old. Matatabi also had a smirk on her face as she tried to figure out what Veronica was thinking.

Tobirama sighed at the two's antics. He knew, that they both knew they could be having a calm discussion about this but the two liked being dramatic. Honestly, sometimes he felt like it would've been better staying... In the abyss or the Shinigami's stomach than this.

Veronica soon went to sleep after chatting for a bit more.

Waking up, she followed the same routine she's been doing for years now.

Eating breakfast, she heard Kakashi finally getting up. Sighing at him being deliberately late again, she quietly left for her training.

"You're here."-Ohta

<Yes.>

Veronica could see that Ohta wanted to chat more but she wanted him to learn how to start a conversation and keep it going as well. She had learned from experience that the Aburame clan didn't exactly have children interact with each other much. And although, she didn't like him much, she did not want to have a team mate more socially awkward than Sasuke was at his 11th birthday when he realized he wasn't alone.

She noticed a certain brown-haired boy coming towards them at that moment.

He seemed to be running from something and her instinct was telling her that something was going to happen soon.

"YOU LITTLE BRAT! HOW DARE YOU DO THAT TO THIS OLD GRANNY?!"-???

The old woman chased after the boy with one of her sandals in hand. Her hair was short and curly and neatly tied back. She guessed that one of her sandals had already been used as a weapon on Tanaka when she saw she was only wearing socks.

'Granny? She's keeping up with a Genin ninja... Is she sure that she's some regular old granny?'

Veronica remembered the lady didn't have any ninja training. The last time she'd met her had been when she was around 10 in this life. She had a flashback of Tanaka's quivering and shaking form as she shook her head to not think of that incident.

Deciding to not bother with Tanaka and she just observed him so as to not get bored. She had a feeling that her new teacher would not be letting them off easy today as well.

[Maybe he'll throw you off a cliff today. Just like Jiraiya did with Naruto.]-Matatabi

'I'd like to hope not. I can't ruin another pair of clothes.'

Veronica tiredly watched Ura-sensei lightly jog towards the three of them. She could hear Gai's shout consisting of youth in the background which she decided to ignore.

He noticed how the three Genin had been standing there awkwardly for probably a few minutes.

"Well, you three sure seem like quite 'social' people. I thought kids your age by now would've made friends with each other already."-Ura

His voice was playful and Matatabi said something among the lines of, 'I tried to make her socialize but she's too much of a b*tch...' which Veronica decided to ignore.

"I would've. But these two are just made of stone."-Tanaka

<It's not my fault I can't speak for too long.>

"I just prefer to not have idle conversations."-Ohta

Tanaka ignored the two of his team mate's slight glares at him as he focused towards Ura.

The day followed with Ura having them learn chakra control exercises and also theorize about what the Genin should do when they or there teammate is having a grave injury and there is not medic nearby. They had learned of these in the academy but after Ura giving them a lot of examples of real life situations, they realized that if they were caught in such a situation, they would not be able to survive.

In the end, they decided to go to a restaurant to finish off their day.

'I won't.'

She frowned at the sudden conversation. He knew that she didn't even like Ohta and Ura at all and Tanaka was tolerable to her as of now.

[Even dislike can turn into attachment sometimes.]-Matatabi

She paused a bit at that. Glancing at the team going in the opposite direction than her, her lips formed a thin line. She really hoped that what they were saying didn't come true.

Sighing, she ran into team 7 on her way back home. She was about to ask what happened to them but decided against it.

"Veronica-chan! You won't believe what happened today!!! Sakura-chan and me were pulling out weed from the fat lady's garden. But then teme decided that his ducky hair was tired and tried to use a jutsu to help!!! And then the wild pigs were chasing us! And then the fat ugly was laughing! And then Kakashi-sensei was apologizing all of a sudden!!! AND THEN. Sakura-chan fell down a hill because of teme!"-Naruto

Taking in a deep breath, she tried to make sense of what Naruto had said. She decided to just nod along with whatever was going on. Clearly having no energy to ask what the hell was Naruto saying. She also noticed Naruto's chakra being a bit depleted with Sakura almost on the verge of chakra exhaustion.

Her day had gone by normally. She was happy it got to end with her having a small argument with Matatabi for fun.

"We'll agree with making an official contract with you, human."-???

The black rabbit had finally made it's decision.
