The trip was by road; the sound of alarms and a path with rails on the road gave way to a train that was traveling through the fields in the middle of the afternoon; the multiple windows allowed to see numerous spacious cabins with several passengers in them and, in the internal passageway, some waiters and more passengers were walking.
Inside one of the rooms were a couple who had, a short while ago, arranged some of their luggage inside the place.
- Well ... the train will go to Reinosa, it will pass through Biela and then through Luesia, there we will get off, after that I will tell you which other train to take so you can get to Zaragoza. - commented a woman.
- I understand...- answered the other.
Then the young man took from a pocket in his shirt a kind of card with his photo and some information. At the top, it said KINGDOM OF SPAIN National Identity Card.
As the young man looked with some uncertainty, he said- How did you get this?
The girl in front of him commented- Oh, remember when we arrived at the station? I told you not to worry about the travel arrangements... How about it, what do you think? Pretty authentic I'd say. - referring to that document.
- Did you really do this? - questioned the man as he turned the card over and saw what was behind it.
The young woman smiled and said - You know ... even though we have lived together for a few years, there are still things you don't know about me ... When I was a child, I made a living doing these things ... after all, illegal immigrants paid well for one of these.
- I see...and what is this thing? - said the man who saw some kind of chip on the left side of the document.
- That's the data registration chip, it stores your fingerprint data and more ... with that you can avoid anything from identity fraud to bank account theft. - explained the woman who was wearing jeans, a blouse and a zero-sleeve vest.
- Bank accounts? - asked the male wearing a suit vest and a white handkerchief around his neck.
While the trip lasted, the young woman took the time to explain to him all the things he needed to know about the modern world.
Hours passed, until the young man fell asleep after listening to all the information told by the woman.
His companion noticed and thought as it began to get dark "I don't know much about you either... all these years together and, every time I discovered something, I understood even less."
The next day being morning, the young man woke up and saw that the woman in front of him was sleeping and, in the meantime, he took the time to think about what he should do when he arrived in Madrid.
"As I recall, Russel belongs to a detective organization or was it government intelligence ... either way, I'll ask him about the dark wish ... I hope it's not what I think it is."
Suddenly, his companion began to wake up- Oh ... hello, Aren ... is it morning already? - asked the sleepy young woman.
- Yes, just now ...
The woman got up from what she had been lying on the furniture and, after having washed herself a little, looked at her in front of her carefully and with a certain seriousness.
- Aren, there is something that ... I would like to propose to you.
Aren looked at the young woman as if wondering what she would say.
- Look, we are both accomplices because of the 'affair' of your ID and now you know another secret of mine; I would like you to tell me something about yourself.
Aren looked at her with some distrust.
- Let me explain well what I propose, two questions; I will ask you two questions and I would like you to answer me with total sincerity, without hiding anything from me; in return, I will also answer two questions from you with the same condition, what do you say? - mentioned Alicia.
- How will you know I won't lie to you or vice versa?
- The years judge for us ... I think we'll both know if either one lies, won't we? - added Alicia.
The gazes of the two young people remained crossed for a few seconds, when one of them nodded.
- All right. - replied Aren.
"Okay, agreed... it's time for the next step." schemed Alicia.
- Then, since we both agree, we'll give ourselves a half hour time to think well about our questions, okay?
Aren nodded his head as he heard the last and that being the case the thirty minutes elapsed.
"Everything is going as planned ... although it may not seem so, apart from all the mysterious air he appears, Aren is a pretty simple guy ... I already had prepared beforehand what I want to know from him and I'm sure enough what things he will ask ... now the last step."
- So, I'll start ... no problem, right?
Aren agreed.
- That being so, first question: what or who are you really?
Although this question was quite simple, Aren had never revealed any information about his true identity to him, not a single clue.
The young man was silent for a few seconds until he decided to answer- ... You mean what kind of existence or what kind of being am I?
- Yes.
- I understand ... ... ... I am a ... primordial or, rather, a descendant of them. - answered that man.
Alice did not understand this, so she carelessly asked- What is ... a primogenitor?
- Is that your second question? - Aren questioned.
The girl quickly reacted and shook her head, subsequently asked her second question.
- What is your place of origin?
- ... I come from a region known as Urd near the Euphrates. - affirmed the man.
Having answered the two questions, Alice decided to retain the answers in her mind without question, for she wanted to meditate on it later.
"Yes ... as I supposed ... I understand less and less." she thought ironically and continuing she said- It's all on my side ... now it's your turn. what are your questions?
Leaning back against the window and looking out at the scenery, Aren replied- I have asked my questions and they have already been answered.
The young woman was puzzled, when was it that she asked him anything? Then she remembered two clarifications in the form of a question he had asked her: Do you mean what kind of existence or what kind of being am I? Is that your second question?
Alicia was for a few seconds confused, because, after having understood what Aren was referring to, was it seriously that he had no questions about her or her past that she had kept secret?
The young woman thought she knew him well enough who, who for half a decade, had been living next to her in an abandoned castle, but that was not the case. Perhaps she understood some habits, gestures or actions; however, she herself acknowledged that she really knew nothing about him.
The mischievous and daring composure turned into a look of sadness and disappointment in that young woman, but a prayer made her recover her spirits.
- Don't be sad, it's not as if we won't see each other again... you will have more opportunities in the future. - Aren commented.
"Hahh ... Who understands you?" thought Alice as she turned to look at the view from her window.
And, just as the winter season advanced until spring arrived, that train continued without stopping through a lush forest until it reached its destination.
Within a few hours of their arrival, the announcement of the next station, the town of Luesia, was heard in every cabin of the train, and being so the couple prepared to disembark.
- We have brought some jewelry that looks like it is made of white gold, plus some precious stones ... if all this is genuine, it can be sold at a price enough to live on for a few months without trouble. We will split the proceeds half and half. - explained Alice.
- The bank accounts ...- mentioned Aren.
- Yes ... don't worry about that … I will open an account for you ... although it will only be a debit account ... the credit ones will be difficult to obtain ... even for me.
Aren looked at that comment with some uncertainty, since, seeing Alicia's countenance, he sensed some discomfort coming from her. It was that he remembered how the young woman mentioned that she wanted to finish the paperwork in that city soon and leave immediately.
It was disconcerting, but the man did not give the matter anymore thought and they moved on, arriving at the Luesia station.
The station was spacious with modern facilities and large green areas that adorned the place. The whole place was bustling with passengers boarding, alighting and others waiting. The place was obviously bustling enough for the number of people present. At the top of the entrance to the station was a large sign that read the following sentence:
WELCOME TO LUESIA.
The train that had recently arrived opened its doors and let out a number of people first while others waited to enter.
A couple was seen leaving the train with a not very large amount of luggage. Only one large suitcase and two pairs of medium-sized backpacks.
While the others were leaving, the couple moved away from the place, but, at one point, the young man in the suit stood looking seriously at one of the exits of the train where passengers were still getting off.
Alicia noticed this and turned her gaze to where Aren was watching, and asked- Is something wrong? - with some concern.
- ... No ... nothing.
The two travelers continued on their way, when a certain silhouette in the distance kept looking in the direction of that couple that was leaving the place.
As they walked, Alicia began to explain what they were going to do next.
- We have no money left; it was all spent on the tickets and some food ... I think the first thing to do will be to sell the jewelry ... I hope there won't be any problems like last time. Also, we will go to the bank to open an account for you and deposit the money.
As they reached the end of the station, a rather interesting scene appeared before them for the young man. The place facing the outside was full of clothing stores, restaurants, some markets, a large shopping mall and a large food court, part of which was fenced off with bushes arranged in a way that looked like columns.
It was observed how families, groups of young people and adults, among others, went out to walk and have fun in that area. It was not difficult to understand, since it was a weekend afternoon.
For Aren to see all this was something quite pleasant, but he still kept his serenity. On the other hand, Alicia, seeing her companion, smiled.
Walking around the area, Alicia was showing that she knew several of the places around her and, passing by the mall, it happened that many eyes were fixed on them.
Actually, this had happened before, but now Alicia had noticed how people began to look with some interest and sidelong glances at the man next to her. You could hear the murmurs of how they were complimenting their companion's appearance.
- I can't believe it.
- How about asking for his number?
- Have you seen him? Is he a model?
- I don't remember ever seeing him.
- It's a good thing I didn't bring my girl ...
Alice was a little embarrassed, but she was also kind of glad to be able to be with someone like that, if only for a little while longer.
It was then, when out of nowhere, the young man began to lead the way, Alicia followed him curiously and noticed that Aren had fixed his gaze on the window of a wine cellar.
- So ... he has returned. - was heard the voice of a woman who was sitting with some older males in the large dining room.
- Do you wish us to go? - asked one of the men accompanying her.
- No ... I will go myself. - answered the woman.
While, elsewhere, on the second floor of a Chinese restaurant, another young-looking woman with semi-wavy blonde hair was silently observing.
- So ... she was telling the truth?
- Should we wait for them to make contact? - asked a young man standing next to that woman.
- Yes. - answered the girl.
Although they remained hidden from that couple, one and the same thought took hold of both parties as they watched from afar.
"That guy... Where is he going?"
They thought as they watched Aren approach the window of that warehouse and stood silently watching while Alicia saw the rest of the product next to him.
Suddenly, Aren randomly turned his gaze in the direction of the large dining room and then immediately to one of the nearby restaurants.
"He spotted us!" was the only thought those in hiding had.
Aren turned his gaze back on his front and, as if trying to keep anyone else from approaching, took a close look at what was in front of him.
- Yes ... this is not good. - took a breath- ... I don't know what this is, but I think ... I'll get addicted ... if I try it. - and said that man while looking at a package with a label that said: NIISAN, instant soup with chifa flavor, try it now!
As if it was the find of the century, Aren closed his eyes and nodded, along with a smile, while rocking his head.
"And this one... What's wrong with him?" thought Alicia.
