Noble Emblem

A young Brave walked out of his village, gathered companions to his side, defeated the Great Demon King, became famous, then came back with beauties in hand! This was a legend that appears in the world of Seyrol every 200 years! Our protagonist, however, isn’t a Brave. Even so, for over a thousand years his figure has loomed throughout its history. Unwittingly, the name of the Red Priest began to resound throughout the world. Red Priest’s legend included extraordinary sword techniques and magic, erudite knowledge, and an almost prophetic ability to lead young Braves toward the proper path. People of the world think of him as a descendent of the ancient Golden Race which led to his omnipotence. In essence, however, this was just the characteristics of the profession known as ‘Noble’. A word from the fabulousest translator/editor on Earth which is me I took upon this translation/editing project for the same reason I started translating my first Chinese novel. There are just too many big ass gems buried in a deep cesspool. I've long guessed that Qidian stopped introducing good Chinese novels on this platform in order to give some breathing room for English (and other) originals, but I don't agree with such approach. From a reader's standpoint, it is such a shame that we don't even know how many brilliant works we are missing because of the language barrier. To be honest, I'm mainly copypasting from the site called Novelhi. It is a really good resource and their machine translation is the best I've seen so far, and they also translate up to the latest available chapter. Still, they have several issues. For some reason they always miss the last paragraph which make you can missout on a potentially very important information related to a story, and they also have parts where just a couple of words gets repeated for a whole paragraph and it actually replaces the original text. They also translate an ad together with a chapter which is immersion breaking. I'll be correcting the inherent sins of such MTL with manual editing and translation and I will also polish some rough edges so that the readers will have as much seemless reading experience as possible. You will definitely have a better time reading this than me for sure

Brewing storm

The next day, Liang Lidong got up very early. He woke up Joan Of Arc quite cruelly, made a simple breakfast for himself, and went out of the village. The sky was still dark, and the children held torches, illuminating the snowy ground nearby.

They had been excited and noisy, but when they saw Liang Lidong, they all quieted down. Although Liang Lidong didn't teach them to respect their teachers, this concept had been engraved in the blood of most people. They understood that if no one taught them a skill, they would always be a bumpkin. And the person who could change their fate was naturally the person they admired the most.

"Teacher, you're here? We're all ready! " Kail came up and said. He was only wearing a thin shirt, which was very different from the thick old cotton-padded clothes and sweaters of the other children.

"Aren't you cold?" Liang Lidong pointed at him.

Kail shook his head. "I've never been afraid of the cold since I was a child. Maybe it's because I exercise every day."

Liang Lidong didn't think it was because of this reason. If ordinary people could resist the cold by exercising every day, then what was the point of cold resistance! Then wouldn't the hard work of professionals to improve their strength become a joke? He knew that there were many mysteries about Kail, but he already had some clues. Of course, so far it was just his guess, and he couldn't be completely sure.

Liang Lidong looked around. His students were all here, and some children who weren't his students were also here. There were more than 50 people in total. They all looked at Liang Lidong, waiting for him to give orders.

"Have you had breakfast?" Liang Lidong asked.

Kail patted his waist, where there was a small bag. He smiled and said, "Don't worry, teacher. We've already prepared it. We'll eat on the way. We've always been like this, otherwise there wouldn't be enough time."

"In that case, let's go." Liang Lidong smiled. "I'm only responsible for supervision and protection. Do what you usually do. Don't worry too much about me."

"Alright!" Kail turned around and shouted to the people behind him, "Let's go. Men, go and make the snow road. Women, take care of the donkeys and the goods on the cart. These are the property of the two villages. We can't lose any of them."

At that moment, the children all began to move. The boys grabbed a shovel and walked to the front of the road, shoveling out two parallel lanes in the middle of the snowy road. Although the snow on the road was not deep, the goods on the donkey cart were very heavy. If the wheels got stuck in the snow, it would be very difficult for the cart to move. That was why almost all the boys had a shovel.

"Teacher, can you help us use that fog spell?" Karl walked next to Liang Lidong and said, "Adults used to be responsible for these things, but this time, we're all children. Although half of us work and the other half rest, and it won't be so tiring to take turns, our physical strength is still incomparable to that of adults. If we have the help of teacher's fog magic, things will be much easier."

Liang Lidong snapped his fingers, and the fog spread out. After a brief panic, the children all calmed down and continued with what they were supposed to do. It seemed that Kail must've told them about this beforehand and prepared them for it, which was why they could calm down so quickly.

It could be seen that Kail was truly a talent. Not to mention his conduct, his invisible leadership and execution were much better than ordinary people. With the old village leader's capability, he couldn't have taught such a child. So to speak, this was Kail's talent … An heir of a special bloodline? Liang Lidong felt that he had picked up a treasure.

With the help of Fog Driving, the children's efficiency was indeed greatly improved. Kail wanted to invite Liang Lidong to sit on the donkey cart, but the latter refused. It was inappropriate for him, an adult, to take a leisurely rest on the donkey cart while the children were walking.

They had planned to reach Winterwind in three hours before the sun completely rose, but thanks to Fog Driving, they arrived at their destination an hour earlier. All the children were excited, partly because they had finally arrived at the city, and partly because they had all received a windfall.

On their way, Liang Lidong activated Lucky Fortune and found a pile of silver coins on the roadside, which were about five silver coins in total. Since everybody who saw it had a share, Liang Lidong gave each child five silver coins. Many villagers had heard that Liang Lidong gave some of the gold coins to Kail and Belin five months ago, but they didn't really believe it. Now that so many children had witnessed it, and they had received the gold coins, Liang Lidong believed that there would be a lot of shallow believers of Goddess Woking in the village after the temple was built, which would be a great help for him to accumulate devotion and contribute to the temple.

Now, the goods hadn't been sold yet, and all the children had five silver coins on them. How could they not be happy?

It had always been an opportunity for the guards of the capital to make a fortune when the villagers and villagers went to the city to sell their goods in spring. There were more than fifty people, and according to the original rules, each person had to pay at least ten copper coins to enter the city. But because Liang Lidong was standing in the middle of the children, it was too conspicuous, so the ruffians guarding the city didn't dare to make things difficult for this group of children. After symbolically collecting one copper coin from each person, they let them pass.

When the villagers from other villages saw this, they shouted that it was unfair. As a result, they were beaten up by a few ruffian soldiers and had to pay double the entrance fee.

After they entered the city, Kail led the children to the west district to sell the goods. The West District was already packed with people. They were all nearby villagers, and there were all kinds of carts. Kail finally found a place. He unloaded the goods from the donkey cart and spread them out on the street. The villagers who came late saw that the children had found a good place and wanted to drive them away. However, when they saw that there was a spellcaster standing among them, no one dared to do anything.

Because of the good place, the goods were sold out very quickly. Kail gave the money to Liang Lidong and said, "Teacher, I don't feel safe carrying so much money. Can you help me keep it?"

Because Liang Lidong had been watching them during the transaction, he knew that these carts of goods were only sold for about thirty gold coins. In the eyes of a professional, it was too little. However, for the villagers of the two villages, it was all they had gained after a year of hard work.

Seeing that the goods were sold out, Liang Lidong said, "Let's find a place to have lunch. Teacher will treat us this time."

The children cheered. For them, it was a great thing to be able to buy a meal in the city. Their trip to the city was not in vain.

Liang Lidong chose a clean hotel on the side of the road and went in with more than fifty children. Generally speaking, such a "high-class" hotel would not entertain villagers, but the lady in charge of reception was very perceptive. When she saw a spellcaster coming with a group of children, she immediately treated the children as distinguished guests, as if the children were not wearing shabby clothes but gorgeous aristocratic clothes.

Liang Lidong was very satisfied with the lady's service. After paying more than ten silver coins for the meal, he gave the lady an extra five silver coins as a tip.

The children's bellies were all round. After resting for a while, Liang Lidong said, "There's still half a day left. It's rare for you to come to the city. You can do whatever you want later. But before that, let me say some rules. First of all, you can't act alone. You must go out in groups of five or more. Second, you must come back here before sunset. Third, you are not allowed to provoke others. If someone bullies you, don't fight back. Come back and tell me. Understood? "

Understood! The children shouted excitedly.

Liang Lidong waved his hand. "Alright, dismissed."

The children quickly began to call their friends, forming a few small circles of their own.

Kail walked up to Liang Lidong and said, "Teacher, that … I want to go alone!"

"I know you want to find Barbara. Hurry up and get lost." Liang Lidong said unhappily. "But you have to come back before sunset. Otherwise, you can stay at Barbara's for the night. You're engaged anyway, so it's fine even if you sleep together."

"Barbara and I are pure!" Kail retorted angrily, then ran away with a red face.

Belin watched him leave and looked a little disappointed. But she was quickly pulled away by her friends. Not long after, the children in the hotel all went out. Liang Lidong also stood up and left the hotel to go to the Mercenary Guild.

Karl used to be in charge of selling magic and gold-refining items in the guild, but now it was someone else. She was a good-looking girl in a black robe. Her spirit power was much stronger than that of ordinary people, but it seemed to be a little unstable. When she saw Liang Lidong walk up, her expression became very panicked.

Liang Lidong stood in front of her and looked at her. Under his gaze, the girl's face gradually turned pale and her forehead was covered in sweat.

"Are you afraid of me? Why? "

The girl was startled by his voice. Then she lowered her head and replied, "Because … because you're … the Red Priest!"

Liang Lidong felt that her mental undulations were a little familiar. Soon, he had a flash of inspiration. "Oh, you're Karl's disciple!"

The girl nodded reluctantly.

"Do you hate me?"

The girl shook her head vigorously.

"That's good. There's no grudge between Karl and me. You don't have to worry that I'll kill you too."

The girl seemed more reassured, but she was still scared. Liang Lidong took out two-thirds of the scrolls he had made, and in a short while, the counter was almost full. He said, "I'm putting these magic scrolls in your place. As usual, we'll split the profits 80: 20, and you'll send money to me every month until the scrolls are sold out. Do you understand?"

The girl was finally relieved. She knew that the guy wouldn't kill her for now if he asked her to do the job. However, her expression turned weird in the next moment, because there were more than a hundred magic scrolls … It was hard for Winterwind to digest so many scrolls. After all, there were too few spellcasters. She raised her head bravely and said, "Red Priest … Sir, there are too many of them for Winterwind to sell. I can help you ship them to other cities, but it will take a long time. Is that okay?"

Liang Lidong nodded. "That's okay! You're a nice guy. Let me tell you something. You must be memorizing the slots of Air Tranquility right now, right? Karl's mind became unstable because he didn't memorize the complete Air Tranquility. You're having the same problem right now. If you really want to learn this spell, you can ask Barbara and see if she's willing to teach you. "

"I didn't know …" The girl was surprised. "That's why my teacher hasn't made any progress in recent years. Thank you for telling me. I can't thank you enough."

Liang Lidong picked out a lot of magic items from the girl and poured them into his Dimensional Backpack after paying. Two hours passed without him noticing. He left the Guild of Mercenaries and was about to return to his hotel, when a few girls rushed to him and cried.

"Not good! Sir, sir, Belin has been taken away!"

Liang Lidong frowned. "Take your time. What's going on?"

The girls were all talking at once, crying and talking. Because they were too nervous, their words were a bit messy. After listening for a while, Liang Lidong finally understood what was going on. When the girls were wandering in the street, they suddenly met an old man. The old man said that Belin was a talent, and without saying a word, he took her away.

The old man was also a spellcaster. He was wearing a green robe with a tree symbol on his chest.

Liang Lidong immediately realized that the old man was a believer of the Life Goddess. Only the believers of the Life Goddess would wear a green robe with a tree symbol.

But why did he take Belin away! Liang Lidong didn't understand. He asked some girls to go back to the hotel to wait for him, while he asked passers-by about the location of the Temple of Life, and then rushed over. He secretly hoped that nothing would happen to Belin.
