Chapter 7
In the middle of luncheon, Tiara and Alan having a lunch together. Even though just two of them, but the food that they have been served is liked three to four pax per person. It's too much for them especially Tiara because lately she just having a little portion of food and then she just continues handling her documents. As usual, they never have a conversation together and they only dine in together. The maids and butler worried about them especially what happen yesterday. All of them know about their fight, one of them was there seeing and then she spreads that story to among them.
"Mother." Alan suddenly speaks. People inside the room were shocked after what they hearing except Tiara, she just keeps reading the documents on her table. He didn't speak after that because Tiara not replying or looking at him. "Speak, I'm hearing." She response but she not even looking at him. "I want to doing the mission that you gave me." He says. Tiara stops after listening what he says, she discontinues her works and looking to him. "When?" She asks. "I'm currently still in discussion with Leo." He says and then continue eating the food. "Before that, we must go to the Mrs. Mrs. Morrison house first." He continues.
"Mrs. Morrison house, when?" She seems curious. "After lunch, but don't worry mother this time I won't let you down." He giving a smile to show some promising to her but she still acts normal to him. "Did you tell her that you come visiting?" He been questions. "Erm, not yet mother." She sighs after listening the answers. "It's no manner visiting someone home without sending a letter." She becoming strict to him. "But this is a rescue mission, we need to act fast." Trying to defending himself.
"If we want to save someone, time is needed to build the plan." She sighs. "If you do recklessly, not only you lose the people you want to save but you lose your own." She continues. "It is similar like this; manner is the most important, barging people's house without permission is so rude." She taking a breath. "Without it we living like animals, remember that." She's giving some advice. Silence is the only can gives by Alan, he just finishing his lunch. The conversation just ends like that which the both of them just continue their job.
She calling Will to bring it up some things for her and then they discussing something. After she done talking to Will, she stands from her chairs and she leaving dining room. Before that, she getting through to Alan first and she suddenly giving a letter put it on his table. Alan surprised, suddenly a letter coming to him. He sees who sent the letter before opened inside, It was from Mrs. Mrs. Morrison. He become confused, he quickly opened it and read inside of the letter about. He stumbles when he read that Mrs. Mrs. Morrison gladly to coming her house after responding from his mother. He doesn't know how to thank her after what she done for him.
A few moments later, he get's ready for coming to the Mrs. Mrs. Morrison house. He grabs the letter and meeting to Leo. He shows the letter to Leo. "Mrs. Mrs. Morrison approves us to come to her house." Alan telling to Leo. "Good." That's all Leo giving the responses. Alan feeling strange, that's not what he expected. "I know what you going to says but what will I says is that a letter she sent it's not supposed to be now, at least we send to her from yesterday and I also know who end the letter to her" He answers what Alan doubting about. Leo prepared his stuff before he getting ready to go. "If you're done, let's get going." Leo starting to rush up.
"Young master and sir Leo, I need to deliver a message for you from lady Tiara." Will suddenly come and stopped. "She orders both of you to take the carriage." He said. Without any words, they accept her offer. Then, he guided them to the carriage. After they get into the carriage, the coachman just sits still didn't do anything. A few moments later, the carriage still didn't move. "coachman, why you didn't start the ride." Alan feeling confused but the coachman. "Why are you ignoring me, we don't have time." He starts to anger. Suddenly, the carriage door suddenly opened. Surprisingly that lady Tiara get into the carriage.
"Mother!" He didn't get at all. He asking himself why his mother joining him. "Why you joining our carriage, is there the place you want to go in the same path?" He wants the answers about these clueless actions of his mother. "Yeah, the same path the same purpose." She says like giving a puzzle to him. "You mean you want to join our trip?" He asks and she giving nod as a yes answer. "To the Mrs. Mrs. Morrison House?" Other questions come up and she nodded again. Her strange action was solved but he didn't happy at all because he feels like his mother don't have any trust issue to him.
"Why are you following us, you didn't believe on me?" He didn't satisfy about her actions. "I'm not here to interfere your mission, I'm here just joining a tea party that she invited me." She pointing a letter that he holding. After he looking the letter that's he holding he embarrasses, don't know what to say. "I'm already tell you many times, patient is the key." Leo reminded his advice to Alan. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be mad." His heads looking down while apologising. "Never mind that, we didn't have no time for this." She starts knocking at the small window to order the coachman. Then the carriage moving forward went to Mrs. Mrs. Morrison House.
After arriving Mrs. Morrison house, they were welcomed by Mrs. Mrs. Morrison with warmed hearted. When she starts hugging Tiara, her eyes start to tears. Tiara understands her desperate situation. Only she can do just keep her down by rubbing her back. After she done, she wipes her tears back. "How silly of me showing my sad emotion in front of guest, I should welcome you all with joyful." She trying to fix her make up. She trying to cover up but it's too late for it, but they trying to forget what they saw. "So, this is your son, right? how handsome you are." She praising Alan. "Thank you, Mrs. Morrison. My name is Alan Von Knightley." Alan introduce himself. "Not only handsome but polite too." She laughs and they following her laugh except Tiara just giving a smile only.
She let them in and guide them to the house. Follow by her butler and maids helping to assist them. In this tea party, it should be at the outside, viewing the garden and taking the fresh air. But for them, they were taking to the private room because of important matter that they need to keep it secret. After the maids serving the foods and their tea, they leaving to the rooms. Mrs. Mrs. Morrison orders her butler to close the door and keep in watch for them so there is nobody trying to spy them and to make sure their conversation will not leak. They touch a few foods first before they start the main topic.
"Mrs. Morrison, we come here to help you, can you please tell me more detail about this letter that you sent to us." Alan straightforward. Mrs. Morrison want to start her story but she can't hold her tears. She takes her handkerchief to wipe her tears. "Before that, Please apologies for my troubles to you all, there is no one can help me accept you all." She wipes again her tears. "Since my husband death, I don't have any relatives here. I only had my daughter and her child left." She sobbed. "But right now, she been living with her husband at Duke Kevin faction." She continues explaining.
"A few days ago, I received a letter from her, she asking my help by taking her back to my house." She brings the letter and put it on the table. "She said that she out of money and her husband left her." She starts crying. They understand that her current situations. Duke Kevin fond for conquest, He just keeping his military to become stronger but the other part he just ignored it. His peoples living in hardship, no jobs, paying high taxes causing them live in starvations. Some nobles can survive because they living in corruption, embezzlement and fraud. Other nobles forcing them to sell their asset and worst they suicide themselves to avoid their daughter or wife becoming whore.
"I already try sending some of my money but she replying that she didn't received it" She said. "Please don't do that Emily, that person help you send it maybe some mercenaries or bandit." Tiara advices. "They not the honesty type even they do to themselves." She says. "Lady Tiara, I don't know what to do, only your help can save them." She begging to Tiara. "I'm very sorry, I can't do anything for you because this is beyond of my power." Tiara broke Emily's hope.
