Bang—
Before he could finish speaking, the wooden door half his height directly fell to the ground, stirring up a cloud of dust.
Matthew Quach lowered his head, muttering apologetically, "Sorry."
He hadn't expected his luck to be so poor. Of the four options, he actually chose the worst one, and even gave an excuse for Hannah to ridicule Hilary Quin.
Even now, from a distance, he could hear Hilary Quin's triumphant laughter, probably calling others to join her.
Hannah began to walk into the courtyard, "It doesn't matter, I don't really care. It's just living somewhere, it just means more neighbors at night."
Matthew Quach followed her, looking up at her, curiosity in his eyes, "What neighbors?"
He was bewildered; this place was off the beaten track, their location was the most remote and aside from a few staff members, there was no one else.
Somehow, Matthew Quach was suddenly reminded of the shadow from last night.
